Will be sending out an email later regarding a member leaving the group.

Have a lovely weekend, hope it is dry where you are, was very sunny here this morning, but now is very overcast and looks like rain. Off to pick up youngest granddaughter as she is coming to stay for a few day.

Evening ladies. Sitting in bed at the moment at my daughters house as I am looking after her 2 youngest for 3 days whilst daughter and granddaughter are at a pony show. This was arranged months before I knew OH would be having surgery. As he still cannot drive have arrange for younger daughter to pop in and make sure he is OK in the mornings. He will be fine but thought he might want some company as he cannot go out, and only go for little walks so the dog will need walking. Roll on next week when he can start driving again. Hopefully be home on Saturday.
Have left my sons half made birthday card on the dinning room table, was bringing it with me to finish off and put in the post tomorrow, looks like it will either be late, or I will have to go in the morning and buy one to send to him, cannot believe that I have left it till the last minute, but I am sure he will understand.

Hope your weather is not being too awful at the moment, the rain here when it comes is torrential with even more forecast for tomorrow, so keep safe and dry all of you.

It's OK, it was a hand made card but not one from the birthday group. It should have had a large letter stamp on it. feeling it it didn't feel thick but when put to the slot it definitely wouldn't go through.

Jo it was not you I have yours thank you. It might not even be from someone of the group, I will find out tomorrow.

Jill I sent a letter to Cyprus just before christmas, as I dropped it in the box I realised that I had stamped it with the Christmas cards and put a second class stamp on it. It actually got there in July via all sorts of European countries.

Oh dear Ann, I took mine to the post office and she said she 'thought' it was alright but it didn't drop through the slot it needed slight encouragement so I really hope it wasn't mine, if it is let me know so I can go and tell her!! Always take mine to the post office now to check before I post them. Wish it was based on size rather than depth.

Jill that sounds a very interesting way of doing acetate, as I am no good at stamping really don't think it is for me. Will have to have some lessons.

Hope you have received the email I sent out earlier today.

Weather here sun/heavy rain not sure what it wants to do.

Take care all of you

Glad you liked it Ann :)
It must be a pain with the new postal sizes, I received a card and sender phoned to say she had put a first class on by mistake. It took three weeks to get here with a note on saying it had gone by longer route, to France??? but stamp was left unfranked so post office lost out as it will be used again :)

sounds an interesting idea Jill. I meant to say besides a lovely card you sent, I love the book corner, it is very pretty.

I am hoping I am wrong but had one of the dreaded post office cards yesterday to go and pay just over a pound for something under stamped. Must be a card I reckon. Hope it is none of the BG. Hope we always check the weight etc.

Good morning to you all.
Sylvia, hope you are feeling better and Jo, your husband is on the mend.
Weather not been too good over here this past week so set about sorting all my lever arch files that contain my paper, card, acetate, vellum, toppers and vellum then went on to tidy two containers of ribbons and found lots I had forgotten about :)
If any of you have acetate and any acrylic paints, try stamping on acetate in stazon so it dries fast then turnover and mix colours of acrylics over the back then cover with white card. Makes lovely toppers as very reflective if silvers and golds mixed with the colours plus when all dry it can be run through the Cuttle Bug with a die and looks so pretty. I use a script stamped piece to use with the CB and the die cut flowers work well.

Sylvia, like Ann says, that really does sound like shingles or chickenpox both very unpleasant and painful. Hope you will be feeling a lot better very soon, seems you get one thing sorted and another thing goes wrong.

Hubby is making very slow recovery, he is not very good when having to rest and do nothing, he gets so bored but he has another week before he can do anything I am finding it difficult to keep him sat down and not pottering around and doing things. He can start light exercise in a weeks time and work & driving in 6-8 weeks.

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

Hallo all,
Well I am a little better but it doesn't go quick enough for me. I lost 9 kilos in weight in a week and still feel a bit sickly.
T he rash is slowly going, some places horrible crusts on them. I am hoping I don't have to take any more tablets as these make me so sick.
How is your husband Jo?
I'll write again soon.

Ann, so sorry it is so very late, but I hope you had a lovely birthday!!

Glad to hear that you received lots of lovely cards, was getting a bit worried about a couple of the ladies that have not responded to emails, so hopefully you have received cards from them.

Will post for the other ladies. There is a group on facebook for the Birthday girls Liz still looks after that as I don't go on there at all.

Have a lovely weekend all of you.

Yes it did Jill thank you.

thank you to all of you who sent cards. I have not had a count but I think it is pretty near a full house.

Jo would you please convey my thanks to those who are not on Genes.

I was wondering if we should have a facebook group (not that I know how to go about setting one up) as we are so spread around these days.

Anyway, all the cards are lovely so thank you again for brightening my day. And I have just come back from Hobbycraft at Webbs of Wychebold near Droitwich where I spent all my birthday money on craft supplies. (Ye, I did, I REALLY needed it ALL).

Sylvia, hope you managed to see your own doctor and he has given you something for the terrible rash you have, sounds very painful, you need some lovely soothing lotion on it, hope it isn't shingles, they are so painful.

Jo, hope your OH recovers soon and doesn't give you anything else to worry about.
Sylvia sorry you have been poorly, hope you can find a solution to get rid of your rash. If it is not one thing it is another isn't it?

syljo

syljo Report 8 Aug 2010 21:35

Jo,
I hope all is going well with your husband. What was the op for?
Sorry not to have been with it with you all this last week, but have been feeling so poorly, a lot of pain and a nasty rash on neck, arms, ears, and it is so painful to touch. I hope to get to see my own doctor tomorrow. The last couple of times I have been to the surgery and she has been on holiday.
I haven't been able to put my mind to anything properly. I tried out the cuttlebug again this afternoon and didn't manage it. It is purely a lack of concentration I think. I'll have to try again.
Jo, our cruise is 7 september, so still have a few weeks to recover.
Thinking of you and your husband.
Love, sylvia xxx

Evening ladies, hope everyone is well. Had a bit of an eventful week, hubby in hospital having surgery a repeat of operation he had 18 months ago that seems to have gone slightly wrong.Surgery took far longer than expected but went fine, went in to fetch him to bring him home and he had a very funny turn, quite scary for me. Have brought him home this afternoon, just hoping now that everything settles down this time and that the surgery has worked.
All I have to do now is catch up with my card making, 2 to make for Monday, but at least I have the Birthday Girls ready for the post!!

Have a lovely weekend all of you.
