Halo all,
Well what a beautiful day it has been, especially when our weather reporter reported snow. We had brilliant sunshine!
I went to the hospital and the ENT doctor put a new grommet in my ear and cleaned it alll out first after the ear infection I had. I did get some anaesthetic so didn't feel too much.
At the hospital they had a Xmas market so I went round and bought a few nice Xmas presents. Our hospital has been decorated with several Xmas trees and other decorations around. It looks so beautiful.
Just one more visit to the hospital before Xmas and t hat is for the colyscopy - bowel examination, but don't know how to spell the word.
Have a nice evening. How are you Jo, miss you on this thread, but just you take it easy.

Jo just you take it easy otherwise you'll not be fit for the big day. Sleep is the best medicine!
Well our granddaughter brought our car back this evening looking none the worse than when we had loaned it to her.
Linda had done a lot of shopping for me which has taken a load off my mind. Now there is just Johan and I think, weather permitting, I will go out tomorrow on my scootmobile.
We have put a new batch of labels in our label writer and don't know how to get it going again.
My youngest daughter and her husband came this afternoon, so was glad that my help came on time and had gone before they came. My help is coming back on Thursday to help with the Xmas tree. I still have to decorate a Xmas wreathe for the big table, and one for the front door. Most cards have now gone, just one or two which need finishing off, but then they are local.
Must make some money over to Linda now for the shopping she did so see you tomorrow.

Hi everybody,
Well I didn't venture out today because of the snow that was falling. I am also not going to the market tomorrow but Johan and I are going to the Garden Centre to buy our Xmas tree. as well as some Xmassy plants, can't remember the English names. Also some bits and pieces to make up arrangements for on the tablets etc.
I am always whacked out after going to the Garden Centre as it is a large area to walk around in., but they do have a nice restaurant inside where Johan can go and sit as I won't have him breathing down my neck while I sort out plants.
Yes, Ann I am looking forward to Saturday as there must be plenty of post for us.
My help cannot come on Monday so she has asked whether she can come on Sunday. I don't like her doing the housework on Sunday really but am pleased she is so flexible. She can at least change the beds and do the ironing for me and hopefully later in the week come back for a short time.
Now see you all tomorrow.

How annoying not to get any post for 3 days because of a strike Sylvia. Still you will get a pile when it does arrive.

I do hope you are OK Jo and that you have not as you suspected, developed flu. If you have I hope you will feel better soon.

Hi all,
Well no problem getting on the site this evening, because I now know what to do to get on. Why it has been changed for me I don't know.
I have posted a lot of Xmas cards, so most of you will have had one, but the last ones are going to get held up in our strike.
I think I might venture out tomorrow and go to our craft shop as I have not been there for ages. I have been using most of my Xmas things which I had over from last year.
I won't get any post until Saturday, such a pity as it is Xmastime.
My granddaughter phoned me today and she is going to get some Xmas presents for me. I was going to give everybody gift vouchers. Mind you, there was something in this for her. She wants to borrow our car from Friday until Sunday. We don't like doing this really as we like to be mobile ourselves, but....... we can't have it all our own way.
Have a nice evening and it is lovely to be back.

Yes of course I will copy across for you Ann, will do the same for Heather. Sylvia is still having problems finding this thread, she can only find a closed thread. I will keep bumping it up whenever I am on line, although I feel like I am going down with flu, have a temperature and feel lousy so off to bed for now.
Take care everyone

OK, no problem, as we go along then. I think it nice to name people personally as so much effort goes into all the cards. Jo, maybe you could copy across to FTF please.

Thank you for the lovely cards received, all so different and all lovely:
Maisie, Joan, Michelle, Sylvia, Jill Nadine and Flo.

Good morning girls,

Thank you to Jill,Flo,Babs,Ann,Sylvia, Joan & Nadine for Christmas cards received, all so different and lovely xx
I have managed to send my overseas cards early, what with the weather holding things up I'm glad i posted them when I did.
Daughter works for a logistics firm and they are having to postpone collections and deliveries, especially in Scotland, until further notice, so a lot of presents won't reach destinations in time for christmas :(

Hope everyone manages to keep warm and safe

Love to you all

Heather xx

Ann thanks for the suggestions, as he is office bound I think a calendar sounds great, but so does the tin for string as he is always in the garden. They can be next weekends task.

Not sure what we should do about the cards, as you say they have started to arrive. Some on FTF thank as they go along using names and some just say a blanket thanks for the cards etc. so not sure which is the best way round this.

Ann, Sylvia and Jill, thank you for the lovely cards I have received, Ann love how you have shaped it, good idea to use! Sylvia love the Christmas tree stitching, such a great idea, Jill also love how you have cut the card, such a simple idea that I would never have thought of but so effective.

Freezing fog today again and already -8 so looks like a cold night.
Keep warm.

Love Joxx

Jo I am sure you enjoyed making things with the children. One thing for a man, if you can get hold of a tin with a lid is to put a hole in it and put a ball of string in. Depends what he does though? A desk calendar if he works in an office with photos of his children on. A pencil holder. Or, if he has a greenhouse similar to a pencil holder for small tools like the little tools for pot planting, secateurs etc.

I have received several cards from birthday girls, do we thank as we go along or after Christmas when all have arrived that are going to?

I will say thank you Sylvia though as I am sure you want to know it arrived.
