I used to love cheese and potato pie but OH doesn't like cooked cheese so never do it. Oh I misread it as 8.30am!! |

Hello Ann, no, didn't leave it overnight. Turned it off 8.30 last night. Pie is now made, and cooling for the freezer. Also made a Cheese and Potato Pie like we used to have at school. Got my recipe off of the www.allotment.org.uk/recipe site. Very easy, peasy. Saving that for tomorrow as we have a funeral on, and I hate going out and having to start 'mealing' when I get back. OH Liver and Chips tonight, me, Prawns in a sauce c/o Birds Eye, and Rice. Have to vary things a bit, or it gets boring. |

When preparing last night's meal, I chopped up an onion and put it together with some stewing meat, and popped it into the slow oven. Was cooked by 8.30. Had also cooked a pan of potatoes. Already and prepared for my Pastry day, today, for amongst other things, old fashioned meat and potato pie. Now where is that flour |

Yes, I have done a lamb shank, today I have braising steak in mine, I love the fact that I then don't have to do anything towards the meal except cook some rice, pasta or potatoes. |

We cook all sort in ours. Lamb shanks are so tender, they just fall off the bone. A friend of ours also cooks pork chops in hers on low. Ours is a big 6 ltr one, and we would not be without it. |

Mince for bolognese cooks really well in the slow cooker if you cook it with tinned tomatoes and Dolmio bolognese sauce. I leave it cooker all day (about 8-9 hours on low and it is a lovely thick sauce. |

The other week I read on here, someones recipe for Pork in Cider, and said I was going to try it the following week.Unfortunately, I did not get round to it. But, I have just taken the pork out the freezer, and will be trying it tomorrow, because OH has a long trip out, and it will be just the ticket for when he gets back. Will report back. |

Got pork and apple in mine today, cooked another piece of brisket in it yesterday but it wasn't as good as the last piece. Difficult to know if it was the joint or the way it was cooked. It was not as tender. |
