If it is going to be a love story for next weeks project I will stick with my current one (All the fun......)

If nobody else want one of your word nudges or whatever they are called Teresa, Just for practice can you give me three words or elements please? I enjoy stretching my brain on those.

Hi Teresa,I guess it doesn't really matter what we send out, some weeks are busier than others. I would imagine that when spring (finally) arrives, peeps will be outside more. Mind you, having said that, I usually compose stuff in my head in the garden ..lol

Good idea Maggie, that'd be nice.

I haven't done any new writing this week, been re-writing my novel. Caught up now, but I don't think I'll get much done before the weekend.

I do have another short story that I wrote earlier, (Blue Peter moment lol) so I might send that out instead.

Hello :)

Tweaked and tweaked and thats all I can do with my set piece ..lol

But I also wondered if a love story/poem may be in order over the weekend, as it is Valentines Day on Sunday :))

Stella would love it as she is ace at love poems !!

Just a suggestion...Maggie

Thanks Helen, I had a different one to that, think it must have been an old one as there was no mention of the competition. Have made a note of it now.

*sobs*

Actually, I'm about to subscribe to the WritingMagazine. Been getting it for a couple of years now, but as a subscriber I can enter certain competitions. Might be worth a look too, see what's what.

They also run comps in Writers' Forum magazine, which really is an excellent magazine, including a poetry workshop.

Sheesh I should get commission lol

I just looked at www.bookbite.org.uk and you can download an entry form. There is also another competition that we could all enter, including you, Teresa, lol, to write 750 words on "My Story."

I think I might give it a go, this first prize is £500, the other one is £100.

Who's up for it?

Darn it, I think this one might be only for over 60's, too. I'm going to email them to find out.

Yes I saw it and tried to find details on the web site but couldn't find anything. Think she told us half a story.

Damn I'm a decade short lol.

I saw it on BBC Breakfast yesterday morning. I think it's great. It's never to late to start writing.

Did anyone else see this in the Daily Mail today?

"Booktrust has just launched a national writing competition for those who have served six decades on this planet. Booktrust is seeking short stories of upto 750 words on 'The Letter I Wish I had Written' "

There are no more details in the article, which was written by Allison Pearson, so it could be worth looking up if you are over 60. Good luck everyone!

By the way, I have now read and replied to absolutely everything in my inbox - until Sunday!! - so thank-you to everyone. Phew!

I still haven't done mine, but plenty of time yet. I've been a bit distracted with something else I'm writing.

I'll get there though.

Helen, I dont' think it's necessary to make them all inter-related, as long as they are all included in your piece. They are three separate elements.

Thank-you, Ann, I'll see what I can think of.
