Thanks Helen. One thing I noted was that, even if you didn't win you appear to give up all rights to copyright once you send a piece to them.

I have just received this email reply about writing competitions so have c'd and p'd it here. I haven't had time to look at the site they suggest yet.

Hello Helen,

Thank you for your email. Currently Bookbite writing competitions are open to all people over the age of 60 who are resident in England.

We are delighted that so many people have expressed interest in our writing competitions and are hoping to secure future funding to expand the project. If this changes in any way we will update you by email. In the meantime, you may be interested in visiting the Short Story website which lists a wide range of writing competitions with different eligibility criteria. The Short Story website can be found at www.theshortstory.org.uk

Thank you for your continued interest in the Bookbite website.

Kind Regards,
The Bookbite Team

i have tried to put something together with the three elements but i was getting really frustrated with it apart from being busy,so i have decided not to bother with it at all now...lol

i might go back to just adding the odd poem now and again

That's ok Ann, we agreed on Thursdays as a second day for those who want it, I'll look forward to reading it.

I still haven't done my set piece, I just can't link the three things into anything remotely believable or original.

AnninGlos Report 11 Feb 2010 14:11

Oh that is good, I liked the first line one, but anything would be good, I look forward to that. I am just going to send out my 'project' from this week to spread it out and give people more time to read.

TeresaW

TeresaW Report 11 Feb 2010 13:56

I can if you like Ann, if it gets the grey matter working a little harder. That's what it's all about.

I will probably put up another 'first line' one on Sunday, we all produced some really good stuff from that. It seemed to bring the best out in all of us.

Or I might try something different....
