Spent the afternoon in bed , coughing, and reading Maeve Binchy's "The Writers Club" , " designed to inspire and motivate all budding writers ".

It refers to 'finding your voice' , I think that we all have an advantage there , in that we all already HAVE a distinct voice on here, a way of writing that we feel comfy with.
None of us tries to copy the way someone else on here writes, if we did it would be fairly easily spotted ...usually ;)

No, seriously, I shall just run them all by you, and honestly your comments will be so welcome. I tend to write from personal experience, sometimes heavy and sometimes with humour. But one only learns by being read...

Maggie, a few poems is better than none at all hun, I'll look forward to reading them. Stop worrying.

The idea is simply to share among the group, no pressurise each other into doing more than we are comfortable with. We're not competing with one another, just sharing something we all love doing.

Oh dear, just been reading back...lol. All you are going to get from me are a few poems...lol
Would love to be able to write like all of you, but I will read with interest and hopefully some of your expertise will rub off on me ..

For heaven's sake, stop worrying you lot ... LOL

Let's all assume that these pieces will be draft pieces. Do NOT worry about spellings, grammar etc. If you are going to finish the piece it will go through a few drafts and all the typos, grammatical errors etc will be ironed out then.

500 words is a rough word count. It'll be about one side of A4 single spaced or about 2 sides of A4 double spaced - unless you use a super large font in which case you might need it look slightly longer - does that make sense.

Promise each other that as and when you are ready to submit work you will make sure that we all proof-read it before it goes in the post. So anyone with weaknesses over spelling and stuff will be reassured and confident that it is as good as it can be.

Now - just write!

Me too Stella I have counted my words (Using my puter TW na na na nah na lol) but I also can't be doing with technicalites (sp) or spelling obviously! lol
