I have a very clear picture of you now Nina!

I do like a straight talker as well. I'm like that in real life but try to sit on my hands on here sometimes - just in case!

You straight talk away! I think the majority of us can take it. You'll have sussed most of the "sensitive" ones by now I expect!

Hi, I'm Nina, still a relative newbie,1 yr,so don't feel part of the "in" crowd, but like to stick my nose in.

I'm from oop north so plain speaking, which some find objectionable I think, but am too old to change now. Imagine a busty blond tap room barmaid, with forty years experience of keeping the drinking public happy.

That is me,you get just what you see. I have managed to trace two branches of my tree back to 1600's and a few to late 1700's,some with kind help from luvly people on here.
Don't be afraid to ask for help, there is always someone who is willing.
Good luck and welcome.
Nina from Sheffield

I remember hauling OH off to Norfolk to trudge round a village and a graveyard. Found loads of graves - and being in the church where they were hatched, matched and despatched made me very goose-bumpy.

And I thought my lot were all Londoners too - on both sides! Pah! The only annoying thing is that now I live in Kent and not London and apart from a brief stay in Kent by one lot, the rest tend to be originally from North of London. Typical!

Joy, I've saved it to favourites too :) had a speed read through and it has inspired me ( ie I'm going to 'copy' it lol ) I love the way you've linked the family to place especially with the photos...I've not known quite how to start putting mine 'together' but now i do :))

LOL - the norty step is fun. Well, it can be a bit chilly too, but you get to post windy-up messages to people on here 'cos you can't post on the threads. Or otherwise you get to do some proper research on the tree.

Joy - I have bookmarked that link and read your articles - will read again over the weekend. I am inspired to finish my pieces on two of my trollope-y gr gr grandmas - the rest of my gr gr grandmas were a bit better behaved!

And, I hadn't realised that some of these FH mags are online - how stoopid am I? Don't answer that anyone!

LOL - come back Rach - don't be daft!

I've been on the norty step 3 times now. Hayley provided cushions and comfy chairs - although Stray took up a lot of space the last time! Don't need to tell anyone why I was on the norty step ... don't want to frighten the newbies and the oldies will guess. (Although I did have fun with my Sherwood Forest thread ...)
