Hi, I'm Nina, still a relative newbie,1 yr,so don't feel part of the "in" crowd, but like to stick my nose in.

I'm from oop north so plain speaking, which some find objectionable I think, but am too old to change now. Imagine a busty blond tap room barmaid, with forty years experience of keeping the drinking public happy.

That is me,you get just what you see. I have managed to trace two branches of my tree back to 1600's and a few to late 1700's,some with kind help from luvly people on here.
Don't be afraid to ask for help, there is always someone who is willing.
Good luck and welcome.
Nina from Sheffield

I have a very clear picture of you now Nina!

I do like a straight talker as well. I'm like that in real life but try to sit on my hands on here sometimes - just in case!

You straight talk away! I think the majority of us can take it. You'll have sussed most of the "sensitive" ones by now I expect!

I cannot take the credit for the layout of the article, that goes to the person responsible for the magazine in Family Tree Forum site

My name is Michelle and I live at the bottom of the world here in NZ, I have been around for five years or so, though I haven't worked on my tree for some time. I post a little, my best trick is to bring a thread to a dead stop after I have posted on it.

Oh and my dog came from the pound over ten years ago and he is currently asleep on the couch in front of the tele while Im on the PC.

Hello, I am Daff.

I am extremely quiet and shy, *crosses fingers behind back* and also spent a short holiday on the norty step, with Stray, Mrs Grumpy and a couple of other very nice people... it was very crowded, but good fun and very very cosy!

I am 55, married, have two grown up sons, two granddaughters, five cats, and live in the flattest bit of Wales we could find. It is below sea level, but we haven't been flooded out yet.

I have been a member since 2005, but only posting for just coming up to 3 years.....

I am normally very sane, with odd flashes of something or other ;¬))

Welcome, and just join in... we are generally a pretty good bunch of folk.

Love

Daff xxxx

Antipodes I couldnt agree more with the cooking programmes, I cant stand any of them and their hygiene practices leave a lot to be desired - even those of the so called expert chefs.

Oh well the lack of anything to watch on the tv meant my library book got returned on time for a change.

Hi, I'm Siouxie and I live in Dorset. I've been a member of Genes for just over a year, and although I read the boards daily I rarely post. How nice it is to be able to read something about the 'regulars' on here. I've had some help from people on the boards with a 'delinquent' Grandfather - who is still a bit of a mystery. I'm coming up to 67 years old, I married a 'regular' soldier (he was a blind date) - while I was in the army; and here we are 45 years on with three children and seven grandchildren. There are some great people on here who go out of their way to help, and long may that continue!

Hi Everyone

I am Claire and I am 2 months away from being 30 (sob!).

I am from Sheffield but currently live in Manchester with my hubby of three years...no children yet. Work as an administrator in a medium secure mental health hospital which I enjoy, its challenging.

Ive been doing my tree for nearly 6 years now, I joined GR in March 2004. Found some interesting stuff and I am extremely happy today as I have knocked a few bricks out of one of my large brick walls :)

Take Care All

Hi everyone,

My name is George, I am originally from west London, Paddington,
I now live a few miles outside Winchester.
Not married, done that and never again....lol.
Been on here nearly one year, hope to meet some of the members later this year at one of the get together you have.

So far everyone I have talked to have been great, don't like the nastiness that seems to crop up now and again, but on the whole everyone is great.
I have one friend on here who has helped me so much, couldn't ask for a better mate.
To all the other new people...just muck in and have fun, and WELCOME.

Hello, I'm Carole and I'm a proud Yorkshire born Lass, but now live "Down Under" in Australia.

Ive have been a member here since January last year, its my anniversary (of being a member) on the 22nd of this month. I have made some wonderful friends since I started posting, which I never thought possible on a forum!!
I mainly post on Suemaid's Aussie thread, but I am slowly adding to others as my confidence grows - I'm a little bit shy, sometimes:-))

Since starting my family tree I have become quite addicted, as I'm sure most of us have:-)) The best part is finding some of my long lost family, and getting to know some of them:-))
