I have been on site nearly six years, try to help with tips / research whenever possible. I live in the south of England. I love Elvis and Freddie (Mercury). I support Crystal Palace (thus board name at times of I'm Palace Till I Die).

BC also likes the smell of rubber but we won't go into that here.

Joy (AKA Maid Marion ...) is one of the saner members here. But of course all that could change in the twinkling of an eyeball!

Dunno Hayley but he married you at some point (for your money). Were you drunk at the time? LOL

He lives in Oz now and is hot - 41 degrees or something! Pah!

Telescope - is that next weekend Rach? There is a great site on Google now full of pictures taken from the Hubble spaceship. I will see if I can find the link. Fascinating stuff.

Here you go Rach:-

You can zoom in on one of the little specks on somewhere like Orion and it's not just a little speck - it's a huge whirling galaxy - makes you feel really really tiny!

I try to take a holiday every so often , being sent into a corner helps concentrate my mind . it is when I write my 'best' poetry...alas too acidic for publication...it biurns holes in the screen but is immensely satisfying :))

Strange because I very rarely wrote any poetry till I joined GR...

seriously though there are a lot of writers or potential writers on the boards...I wonder if writers are more interested in genealogy ....probably that curiosity about people generally ?

Do sane people do this? - I have written articles for family history societies (Irish, Cornish, Suffolk) and in the magazine in Family Tree Forum site.

Hello! I am Posh...I have been a member for nearly 5 years now.
I am usually very quiet but do have my 'moments'... lol

I think you're right Rose.

And when I get stuck on a particular person in the tree or find out something a bit unusual about them I tend to write it down. My natural inclination to pick up the notebook and muse away. The stuck ones sometimes come unstuck and the unusual ones provide fodder for poems, bits for the writing group etc. (and will end up in the family history folder anyway as I want a written account of at least some of them as wel as the bare bones)

Maybe we should have a writers' thread - perhaps on General (where they are just a tad more serious - LOL). What do you think?
