It is fair coming down in Glossop, we had a little bit last night and it started with avengence early this morning, now a good 4 or 5 inches deep, I am working tonight will have to walk a few miles, good job i have good walking boots, do home helping so have to go, will be midnight when I get home I think. Doesnt look like it will give up anytime soon. Would love to see it if I could stay home on here.

Bright, clear but cold on the first rise of the North Downs. There was a sprinkle of the little 'ball' type snow over night, which has melted in the sun.

The next rise (higher altitude) must have had about one inch of proper snow over night, judging by the cars when I went out.

Weird weather here yesterday, very near Channel coast.

I got up early and went for a walk to the nearest beach to watch the sunrise, as I did for 2000, ...( where did the last 10 years go ?!! )
It was chilly, but not 'raw' with bright sunshine and clear sky when I got home about 8.50.
By 9.30 it was snowing wildly. The most we've had this winter, though not much by comparison to some areas.
Some is still lingering in shaded parts to the north of buildings etc, but the bright sunshine has melted most now.
A cloudless bright blue sky here today.

coming down thick & fast here in Stockton on Tees - just been outside in jammies & dressing gown with glass wine in one hand & fag in the other - snow diluted my drink & put my ciggie out. Maybe a hint as to what my New Year's Resoluton should be.....?

The weather is easy to explain. Global warming has kicked in. It is too warm for snow so it is raining instead.

Phew that's a relief. Sun just rising. Coolish about 18C. Heading for a very mild 24C today. Forecast for between 37 and 39 next week.

Nope it just isn't snowing.
