Hi well I´m back. Not been away really, just concentrating on someone else´s gen, and not had time to talk. I enjoy subjects which are abit different - like the one about the lead buttons, something to stoke up the old brain cells. That reminds me I have just found in a box a fold up metal cup about size of egg cup. It squashes down to about 1/2 inch. Anyone know about this? |

Thanks for your ideas, just measured it. It is 1.1/2 inches dia. by less than 1/2 in deep when closed and under 2 ins when extended, it consists of 5 metal rings and has a separate lid. Not silver unfortunately. I´m wondering now if it could be for a tot of rum. My granddad was a sailor in his youth , perhaps they were issued with one for their rum ration, but I have never seen one before and I´m always poking round antique shops. |

I was going to say it sounds like something somebody would carry to drink alcohol of some sort. Maybe it is for walking or climbing, it does sound interesting chica (welcome to the thread by the way) please let us know if you find out what it actually is. |

Hello all, just time to wish you all a very Happy New Year before hubby puts tea on table. I've not had chance to come back on until now, but I was going to say in my first post that I come from Gods own County, Yorkshire as my name suggest, lol. |

Jean it was lovely, hubby is pretty good, he has to be. We had roast beef, sprouts, carrot and turnip mash, roast potatos and mash. He tends to overfill me though as I eat very little. |
