Uggers, I agree we wont get it back as it was but we can try to make it a more friendly place (OK I know there are people who appear to want nothing but strife but we don't have to feed their egos by letting the boards disintegrate), there are still quite a few threads on Gen which are like the old chat threads where we have a good relationship with others on the thread. |

And you were on the panto thread Catie so we have met, but welcome anyway. I have been on here 7 years and for about the past five there has been the threat of 'trouble' brewing. I have to say I have never been personally 'attacked', I try to steer clear of names I recognise as having caused problems in the past and am still enjoying spending time on here. (& I am old enough to be your Gran!!! (69). |

Hi Donna, good to see you on here. Yes I am sure facebook was the start of the decline when people started chatting to each other and spending time on there, but mostly they drift back. It does of course date back to the big problems of a few years back when we had the big split and the other site took so many of our respected members, that was sad, but we still have some great people on here, both those who post and those who just read, if we can only get them all posting again we can still have a chat and a laugh. We need people to put up some good topics to keep the A-Zs at a minimum. |

Yes Ann - we have met :) The intro was for others reading through. In a way I also wanted to show that people of all ages can add and equally enjoy contributing to the threads. |

That is what I enjoy about being on here, the mix of ages. I think Katie is about your age. We did use to have an 18 year old but she went to Uni and didn't re-join Genes, Too much study to do I guess. |

Mum bless her was addicted to family history, quite the detective. Its nice knowing so many members on here were helped by her. Thankfully I kept all her research emails to me, she helped me in my research such alot....but very sadly, Mum didnt write her passwords down anywhere (most sites have allowed me access, including GR, but its her hotmail we need to access for so much of her work) |

Hi Hazel, yes I have seen you post but I didn't see the thread you mention. I have often been overlooked (or ignored) when I have posted, particularly on chat, but I think it is because people get engrossed in a conversation with a group of people and are intent on answering within that conversation, if you see what I mean. I am sure it is not to deliberately ignore you. In fact I have been known to comment onh being overlooked and people are generally apologetic. |

Barbra, put it behind you, these things happen and I am sure others have forgotten it. Maybe you should have stayed on the thread as you enjoyed it. There are not many 'spiteful' as you put it people, just sometimes as in real life, little spats happen, we are all human. Best ignored and carry on as usual. Nice to see you on here anyway. |

Hi Karen, The Pinny gang I think were Mildred (Elaine) and Lynda, maybe Maz in the East End and could also have been Jean. |

I didn't think you were moaning Hazel. What colour are the dogs? Was it a black poodle and a black cocker spaniel. I bet they are gorgeous, it sounds a nice cross. We have had two poodles. Only trouble is both ours went blind and apparently they are prone to that and spaniels have ear problems. lets hope these don't end up with the problems of both sides of the 'family'. |

Well, thats nanny's duty done for another year. We ended up making 180 mince pies and 60 jam tarts. All have been put in the usual tins ( empty quality street or biscuit tins) and labelled . Ella decided it would be better to make more than requested as she found my extra stash of flour etc ( purchased just in case) rather than have to make more possibly on christmas eve, like last year. |
