The flat we lived in in the 1980s built in the 1950s is bigger than the house we are in now which was built in 1982 and not seasoned so we had constant wet walls etc.

We bought ours new when we moved as our huge corner unit and chair would not fit in :-0.

YG Report 23 Jan 2023 22:15

R was going to give me one of his sofas when they bought new ones. I couldn't fit both in but the 2 seater would be ok and I could still get one adjustable chair to match. It looks as though he isn't likely to buy new ones now due to the energy crisis and V's wedding :-( :-(

We have 2 x2 seater sofas and 2 stools which is usually enough for us. I have an office chair and another stool upstairs if needed :-D

When I eventually manage to get rid of the suite, I think I would like to get a couple of 'Stressless' type chairs. I don't have visitors very often, so could possibly get a couple of pouffes just in case. the maximum number that I usually se is 3. It would give me more room for manoeuvre :-)

If I put one of my sofas over the radiator in the lounge we could not get up the stairs :-D :-D :-D

ZZzzz Report 23 Jan 2023 21:49

Evening YG, the way our lounge/diner is arranged is the only way it can be, until a few moments ago I had vest, pants, nightdress, thin dressing gown and quilt dressing gown, nice and warm. :-D

LaGooner Report 23 Jan 2023 21:40

Evening YG, a good idea not to cover up radiators. I have just been booking our holidays so the weather better get warmer ;-) :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 23 Jan 2023 21:10

Evening everyone :-)

It was a bit milder here this morning, then turned really cold at lunchtime :-( Another day of shivering to the bone until the heating came on at 6.30pn. I have a thermal camisole on, a jumper and my soft fleecy dressing gown and I have just got warm. The furniture has been moved around so that I could move the settee away from the radiator on the external wall so it will stay like this now until the temperature increases to something more comfortable!

Hubby used to a few years ago but that was because the places he needed to get to for work were in London.

LaGooner Report 23 Jan 2023 20:06

We definitely do not drive into London it is easier to get the train. We drove down last April for a funeral which was where I was born and vowed I will not be going back.

We don't go very far these days, when I need to go a long way I go by train and / or bus. :-D Let the train take the strain, remember that saying????
