Just spotted this on their home page

Other posters have said it will be from 1900 BST today for 3 hours, so Aunty may just about be able to use it to hunt for for her elusive Hills.

We've been watching the repeat/highlights of Trooping the Colour! Now OH has decided to 'just drop in' to see what is going on with the WC. Tsk. Letting the family side down lol

I need to clear up a few things.
1. Neither OH nor I follow soccer. The cape was a freebie from the pub.
2. I have watched five minutes of two games just to see what it was like. That horrible droning noise drove me batty.
3. When does this free thing on FMP start.
4. DET if you imagine a large egg shape which is Australia I live in the middle bit right down the bottom.
5. Why does LG feel l ike singing. It is really necessary.
6. My team was beaten again yesterday.

Now I have a story. Yes it is about OH. Who better to keep us entertained.

"A Helpful Day in the Life of my OH"

Yesterday morning I put through two loads of washing, hung out one load and left the other in the basket next to the machine. I had a third load to do but wanted to put my pyjamas I was wearing into the wash so I left that lot until I had my shower.

A little while later I went into the bathroom and checked the dirty clothes basket. In the bottom of the basket was one sock. I lifted the lid of the basket reached in and dropped the lid. The bridge of my nose between my eyes connected with the edge of the lid as it came down and it hurt.

I walked outside to ask OH if there was any damage. As I walked past the laundry I noticed the washing machine was empty and the basket of clean clothes was gone. I asked OH if he had put the washing in the machine into the basket and hung the stuff out on the line. He was quite pleased to tell me he had. And yes I had a bruise between my eyes.

At this stage OH was off to buy a new radio for his latest vehicular acquisition. The radio installed had ceased to function and he could not make it work. Male theory buy a new one. My caution make quite certain it is the radio before you spend money.

But off he went having won two sets of brownie points, one for hanging out the washing and the second for being smart enough to realize his car needed a new radio. I had my shower then I went out to the line and unpegged all the dirty washing. And yes it was dirty, visibly so. I took it inside put it back into the machine with my pyjamas and washed it. Then I went shopping. When I came home OH was very pleased to tell me that he got a real bargain with the radio, however when he installed it, the new one did not work either.

I politely asked him why he had hung the dirty washing out on the line. He paused for a few minutes and then said, “Well that’s why it was so dry.” I said did you not notice it was also very dirty and he replied he had not looked at it while hanging it out.

We then discussed the rubber snakes which were supposed to be scaring the pigeons. The rubber snakes were resting on the verandah table. Nope, said OH they don’t work. The pigeons are standing on them.

Does this chain of events portend a bleak future for our relationship. Is this the start of old age???

Good morning all. Do we detect a touch of tetchiness today Aunty? No doubt it is has been brought on by the sore nose. Bet that brought tears to the eyes when it got clonked! Hope you haven’t developed a black eye over night to go with the bruise on your nose!!!

At least OH tried, which was something, and was aware that there was a job pending. I swear mine goes around with his eyes closed half the time, and it seems to me that I end up having to put things away after him when he has tackled a job around the house.
When we were first married, I asked him to collect the ‘towels and things’ and put them on to boil. When I cam home, the face flannels were still in the bathroom. As I hadn’t listed them, they weren’t collected. Grr. Sounds if A needs a bit more training Maz, or he will be just the same.

If the ineffective bird scaring plastic snakes were placed on the flower/veggie beds, has he considered collecting freebie DVD/CDs and stringing them up? They twirl around in the wind and reflect the light.

Hope some people had success with their free access to FMP. It would seem that they didn’t anticipate the demand and their servers went on a go slow!!!!!!!

Glad you had an interesting morning out Maz, and that it wasn’t a complete waste of time as are a lot of conferences. Good luck with FMP next week!

Good morning everyone.

I'm back ........................ I think lol!!

Another heavy few days to come, but then hopefully back to a full team and life will regain some sort of normality. I won't go into the whys and wherefores but generally we have gone from 100% staffing in our department to 50% for two weeks and down to 25% (just me!!) last week.

I am beginning to think I have turned into some sort of monster with several heads and six pairs of arms, so perhaps I qualify for a place in the CP compound lol!!!!

Waaaaaah!! Spent the afternoon crawling around on my hands and knees painting the skirting boards. Do you computer "skirting boards"?? They are the bits of timber between the bottom of the wall and the floor. I had to wash them with sugar soap cleaner then tape up the wall and the floor so my wriggly painting line did not go elsewhere and then paint between the lines. Managed the lounge room and the passageway.

And yes my knees are sore ( despite the knee pad) my hand is clenched into a fist and my shoulders are just starting to ache. Oh well tomorrow to go yet. I'm tough, I'll survive.

Hi everyone. We are all so excited about Australia playing Germany tomorrow morning our time. Hey did you see all that little pink piggies flying past your window just then.

YG Report 13 Jun 2010 10:31

Well, put it in the records books for posterity because I watched the England v US match last night!!!!! Don't know what possessed me cos I DO NOT DO FOOTBALL!!

And yes, there are lots of little pink piggies flying past my window Aunty!!

Hi YG, Whoops I have to go. I have the heater connected to the same plug and extension cord which runs my computer. Just noticed the cord is very hot as is the plug. I think I need to do some electrical trickery and plug things in elsewhere or I'll be calling for the firemen!!!

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 13 Jun 2010 11:11

lol - it look wonderful when it's finished. No doubt Maz and LG will give you some tips. We also have an out dated word for skirtingboard - Wainskirting! Goodness only knows where that derived from.

Hope you managed to sort out your electrics before the plug or wires melted.

You were probably so tired YG, that you didn't have the energy to pick up the remote to turn over Channels. Take it easy now.

I agree DET. She is a very persistent woman is my daughter. If she sets her mind to something it usually gets done. Very interesting seeing her demolishing a bathroom and starting from scratch just like they do on the TV shows. Worry, worry, worry!!!

Electrics are now OK. Plugged the heater into the bathroom socket and put in my new powerboard which has been sitting on my desk for the last week. Everything is now cool, as it should be.

Yippee!! Leyton Hewitt beat Roger Federer in the final of the Halle tennis.

Yippee!! I was right. Australia can not play soccer. It is all media hype. Thank goodness for Aussie Rules. I told you so. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

What an embarrassment. Have just endured a half hour "wrap up" of the game and they still think we can "do better". Ha, doing better probably means losing 1.0 to Serbia.

It is about 2 degrees here this morning. Freezing cold. I have another day of house painting. Might catch you again this evening my time.
