+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Jun 2010 13:49

Yes Aunty, we do have sun roofs, and some lucky people have soft top retractable roofs as in sport cars! Sport cars aside, a sun roof is a cheaper version of Air con....which is not a *standard* option. :(

(not that sun roofs are either come to that, but my car was 2nd hand, so I'm excused)

YG Report 6 Jun 2010 21:41

Of course we have sun roofs Aunty! Leave them open and turn the car into an ark if the rain today has anything to do with it!!!!

It almost reminded me of the tropical rains in Africa this morning, then we had lovely sunshine this afternoon and back to rain tonight. Typical British summer lol!!

Back to work tomorrow so should hopefully get back into a 'normal' routine!

Did all the rest of the family stay, get married, have grandkids? or did they all die terrible deaths? in the mines or did the Klingons take them for their own warped experiments!!! These questions and many more may never be answered by living human beings. -{:-()

Too much Star Trek, RMS?? lol.

We missed the rain today, apart from a few spits and spots...and the washing got dry, which is one good thing. At least the weeds will grow YG, which will give you something to do next week end :-)

RockyMountainShy

RockyMountainShy Report 6 Jun 2010 23:46

Really !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you ever have too much Star Trek???????????

Yes, We needed the rain to wet the forests and fill our reserves BUT it can stop now, and came back in say August. When we will need it again to put out the forest fires. There is what is know as 'too much of a good thing'

AuntySherlock Report 6 Jun 2010 23:46

That would be right RMS give me a challenge first thing in the morning. The good news is it is a doable one. The bad news is it will have to wait until I get home from work this afternoon, my time.

Edit this information will be found on the Ask the Nutters thread on History.

Current temperature 6 degrees, forecast top 15 degrees. With rain of course. Our long range weather forecaster who is usually pretty accurate has predicted a long cold wet winter. With the rain and cold extending into our Spring. Drats.

Fingers crossed you get something that suits. At least as registered disabled, the employers have to bend over backwards and you are almost guaranteed an interview, which is half the batttle

Work this afternoon - think it's Math. If they turn up on time, we've a chance of getting them out in time for the coaches. Otherwise....???

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Jun 2010 18:05

Hope Froggies son does well, and you of course. English GCSE tomorrow!

Had OH in stitches earlier. I'd lent one of the candidates my bottle of water - an old one I'd washed and part filled. When I was washing it out again at home, I discovered he had punctured around the bottom with the point of a compass, so that it now resembles a watering can - lol. Kids, eh?

Oh, Aunty- UK phone numbers which start with 0845 are charged at the local rate and if they start with 0800, they are free.

AuntySherlock Report 7 Jun 2010 21:44

Hi DET re the phone number. I had a pm from someone else about that as well. I actually took the info from the GRO web site. Knowing nothing about your phone system I thought I'd be better off checking their info first.

Looks like I should have sat on my fingers again. Never mind, at least the basic info is there.

Just so you know I am not completely daft!!

"You can contact us by telephone on 0845 603 7788 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 9am to 4pm) This number is free on some call plans from UK Landline providers, others charge at the cost of a local call. Mobile and overseas rates will vary and may be considerably higher, please check with your service provider."

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Jun 2010 22:55

Don't worry about it Aunty! People in the UK would know anyway.

What's with this new fangled thing about *having* to have things decorated before moving in? Is it just the younger generation? Tut - what would they think about having to live in a 'doer-up-er' while actually doing it up lol
