If you can find one, let me know. Perhaps they contact one of my Blochs! (Given up on them for the time being)

Enjoy your househunting.....and OH his refurbishing and decorating. At least it will keep him occupied over the winter.

Off to bed in a minute. Catch you all later.

You must be waking up soon. Let me see what time it is. 8.42 and is it Saturday or Friday. Must be Saturday.

Remember my whinge about cousin I found on Ancestry tree and could not raise a squeak out of him. He replied this morning my time. He is the son of my mother's sister. Or my aunt's son. Grandson of FW Hill.

YesI have written out my two thousand three hundred questions give or take a couple for him to answer. Somehow judging by the lack of info on the family tree he knows about as much as I do, ie diddly squat.

That seance is looking like a really wonderful idea. Perhaps we could include the CPs.

Hmm we could have a group seance and solve all our family history problems by asking the persons concerned directly.

LOL LG, that's the way it always is in my family as well. The women do the decorating and the men do little repair jobs.

DET, I just put pillows in the washer folded in half. When they come out, I shake them and they spring back into shape. I love the smell of them after they've been on the line all day.

Yep, if anyone finds a good medium - put my name on the list to see her/him. I've got a few puzzles that can't be worked out just by buying certificates.

AuntySherlock Report 29 May 2010 09:18

Pauline, you are a treasure. Do you think I could remember "medium". Thank you.

Washing pillows. Depends what they are made of does it not. Foam rubber is OK to wash but if you have down or feather filled they need to be shaken vigorously as they dry. This stops the feathers from clumping together.

This is another reason why I do not like front loading washing machines. They just are not big enough to allow the larger items to be washed properly.

Morning all, sort off. Kept waking myself up coughing, so will probably have a snooze in the armchair this afternoon when I shall be home alone.

Betamale and OH are off to the Guiness RU premiership final, and problem child to a BBQ...which will probably be rained off! I'm designated taxi driver as long as the males manage to catch the last train home. If not, they can camp out at the London Terminus - lol

Top load washing machines are supposed not to agitate so well, aren't they? With our small kitchens, they rarely fit in the space available so aren't that popular.

With regards to decorating, I have a cunnning plan. Start off the job, but make such a b*lls up of the gloss, OH takes over and finishes the job - lol

LOL DET the paint trick would not work in this house. It would just stay ba**sed up !!!.

Morning all.

Good morning. Excellent start. I have two brains with which to communicate. Rather like a GPS which needs to look for satellites before it is able to operate.

Question without notice o learned ones.

If you found some info on an A tree, and being finicky about what info you put in your tree decided to search for the info and find the source.

This info is duplicated in about 7 other trees all with much the same wording.

You have placed this info into a search in Ancestry and Family Search and it does not match. In a word the same info is not to be found. Free BMD is useless because it is in 1796.

I am not saying the information is incorrect. Just that it must have a source so where else would it be. Parish records???

The location is Canterbury Kent.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 May 2010 10:11

The PR would be held at Canterbury Cathedral Archives....probably. Never made it there, but when I've emailed with a general query they have been very helpful.

http://www.canterbury-cathedral.org/history/archives.aspx

Ancestry does have some early extracts from Kent PR, so the info may have come from there...or a PR disc published by Kent Family History Society

www.kfhs.org.uk

Although it would be helpful to me as well, to visit Canterbury archives, I'm not offering because it would probably be next year by the time I get there!!!

Hi There I am back. Just watching my team receive its weekly beating at football. Well we almost pulled off a miraculous win this time. But not to be. Actually the game has not quite finished however it would be the finished of the century to win.

Now where was I oh yes Canterbury. The info had to come from somewhere, thanks for those suggestions I am about to go try them out and also have a look again at the LDS site.

By the way did David drop in and say hello, or was that part of the seance!! Goodness that was yesterday. Oh well hi David.

AuntySherlock Report 29 May 2010 13:20

OK Found it. Widened the date range a little and I think I have the correct family. Now I can enter the data and the source.

Morning all, is there a page missing from here or did nobody turn up last night?

I usually have at least 2 pages to catch up on when I log on to read what was posted the night before.

What happened to you all?

You all went to a wild party without me didn't you?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 30 May 2010 09:38

Hi Pauline,no chance . I am coming down with a cold thoughtfully shared with me by Ava and Emily LOL. Was supposed to be putting some gloss paint on today but methinks I will have to give that a miss.

Perhaps people were watching the misnamed Eurovision Song Contest???? I was actually doing some research - shock horror, who'd have thought it? lol

BM's RU team lost the Championship, in the last few minutes Grrrrr. But apparently it was a good match to watch.

Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather LG....lots of Vit C may ward it off. Just make sure you don't go chesty again.

Morning DET. I will live LOL. Just feeling a bit under the weather but not enough to stop me getting on with life. Just as well as I have been given a list of decorating jobs to do LOL
Glad to hear it was a good match, can't wait for our footie season to start again I miss it.

Well, at least you have the dreaded World Cup to look forward to and the media hype which accompanies it.

Don't get me wrong. If, like you, someone is a regular football fan, I can understand the interest, but for the say 75% of the UK population, there is a feeling that they *ought* to be taking an interest because they are the odd ones out...not.

Have you booked your Holy of Holy's visit yet? You'd better make sure there isn't an expiry date on it!!!!

Hi everyone, just returned from dining out in celebration of grandsons birthday. Mexican restaurant was his choice of venue. Very nice food, most of the family, and even us oldies had a lovely evening.

I have ordered the death cert for my grandmother just in case it throws some light on grandfather.

No hurry with the Olivers Maz right now I am struggling with making any progress with my lot as well. Very glad you and the frog have decided to enjoy yourselves. Makes life a lot more fun.

Australia will be winning the world cup. Or so our media tells us. What a load of dkfklji garbage.

I am now off to bed. It is quite cold, the washing is still hanging dripping wet on the line and I am tired. Catch you all later.

How lovely to hear that the Frog is one step closer (and nearer) to becoming your Prince, Maz. Enjoy the time together. If Frog wants to be inspected for warts (just in case he is a Toad in disguise, lol) then I'm up for it! If he likes, I can drag OH along and they can go and commiserated in a local hostelry!!!

Glad everyone enjoyed the birthday meal. You must all have asbestos mouths to eat Mexican food!

Surprisingly what I had was not hot. I steered away from little green and red things. Some of the more adventurous were deadening their taste buds on the peppers and chillies.
