LG BDM on Canadian sites are as difficult as Aussie sites to access. They have a BDM Exchange under the Olive Tree name and also rootsweb offer some search possibilities.

Several of the provinces also offer Historical references but the time line for births is about 120 years ago.

You may find some info in the Canadian Archives site and other similar sites like this http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/

It is very difficult to access any late records say after the early 1900s as they have quite stringent privacy regulations..

RockyMountainShy

RockyMountainShy Report 22 Feb 2010 22:27

Of course got to have privacy, you know!

Doesn't matter that they have been died for the last 30 years, doesn't matter if the next of kin is your father, doesn't matter if he was 80years old single last person in his family etc., they still won't let you have his service record!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHH

But I'm going to send in all the papers and tell them I'm the next of kin, and see what happens. What will they do, shot me!!!!!!

Oh you're talking about Canada, never mind !!!!!!!!!

Ok what are they all going to Quebec for ??? there is nothing there except a lot of people who won't talk to you unless you know French ! and who keep trying to separate from Canada.
But they are good at winning medals.

RMS. Have you found your Hartnells thread yet?? I've hidden it a couple of pages back. I can't go any further until you update it a little bit.

Maz why do you have to click twice. Are you using the preview button. I am not and so far I only have to click once.

Prhaps they have made it easier for the dumber Aussies.

Just watched a rather interesting 20/20 cricket match. Poor West Indies. We just keep beating them.

I only have to click the submit button once as well Maz, mind you, I have to think about it first because I keep going to hit the preview button instead.

DET, you were right - the ironing is still here today, might be still here tomorrow as well.

By the way I've disowned Sweetpea, he's caused way too much trouble on here this week.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 23 Feb 2010 15:40

Define 'a while' ............6 months?.........9 months?..... Please say 12 months.

Has anybody ever been on the norty step for 12 months?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 23 Feb 2010 18:21

Poor Sweetpea if you put him on there for 12 months make sure he has a very comfy cushion LOL

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 23 Feb 2010 19:27

Could we send Sweetpea for re training. You do have schools over there that do vocational trade courses?

I'm sure with a bit of book learning Sweetpea could become a model citizen!!! He just needs to learn where the black wire goes and where the red wire goes. Oh that's changed hasn't it. Is it where the green wire goes and where the brown wire goes.

Hey Sweetpea, come and sort this out for me please.

Have just been reading another thread where they are having trouble with bookmarks, so I need to let GR know. I have just been trying to find the version of IE that I am using but can't find it!!

Still having problems with my gedcom export too. The status is back to normal, but still haven't received an e-mail.
