Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 29 Nov 2009 19:09

I can I just juggle them about it...dont start on me just because you're 50.... lol

I have noticed that people write ....just because your instead of you're...

Uggers

Uggers Report 29 Nov 2009 19:08

Exactly Teresa, a spell checked rant is far more effective.

Hayley, I can always grasp what you're saying, even if I have to read it a couple of times and even when you're talking sh*te:))

now numbers I can work out in my head without thinking about it...and also I am really good at remembering years...as well.

lmao @ Holey and Udders ;-)

Hayley, I can understand what you're saying so any spelling mistakes don't bother me. I just have a tendency to proof read without thinking about it.

Ah, so if someone is going to take the time and effort to be rude or aggressive toward you Uggers, then they could at least bother to do it properly? LOL

Strangely enough, grammar doesn't bother me as much as spelling does. I can usually work out what is really meant in cases of bad grammar.

Like this phrase from a school nativity....

“And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph and the baby lying in a manger.”

:-))))

Sorry Rose, didn't answer the whole question:) I do always notice spelling mistakes but if they're by someone I like it doesn't bother me at all. If someone on here I don't like is being rude or aggressive, it always irritates me.

Muffyxx Report 29 Nov 2009 18:58

I make the same spelling mistakes time and time again I''m sure. I know I spell definately wrong constantly and I rarely bother to edit it .......and am also very lazy with my apostrophes and capital letters on here......though not in real life.xx

Uggers

Uggers Report 29 Nov 2009 18:53

I'm really lucky with spelling and have never had much problem but I do struggle with grammar sometimes or I would if I was very bothered about it.

Trouble is Dermot,
confusion can creep in as to which one is correct, for that occasion.
for example ,
and I digress a little here , someone a long while ago, once suggested that to learn Morse code all you need to learn is half of it, for most characters have an opposite.....OK in theory but useless in practice for there will always be, "which one is which?"

I do tend to pick up on spelling mistakes, and words spelt the wrong way such as their/there/they're, but they don't usually bother me, certainly not on forums or sites like FB. My own spelling isn't perfect, especially with words like necessary lol (I just spelt it wrong first go lol). When on forums/FB I don't always spell perfectly, eg I'll use tho instead of though occasionally, depending on the type of thread. I certainly wouldn't comment on someone's spelling, although I used to tease a friend of mine, Lemon Nelly, who was a member on here a while back. I came up with the word Lemonitis lol

However, I wouldn't be too impressed with someone who sent in a job application/C.V. which was full of spelling errors. If they can't be bothered to make sure words are spelt correctly when applying for a job what attitude would they have towards doing the job.
