It's nice that Eddie no longer has to wear the brace.
Take things one day at a time.

Still thinking of you both.

Good news Mummo, a little less for you to do but do take care of yourself - maybe you could go and get a nice relaxing massage somewhere while o.h. is having his physio.

Hope you get more info from the physio or your gp and that things get better from now on, in every way

That is brilliant news, Mummo.... but agree with Blue Moon.... why oh why do some consultants carry on as though they are demigods?

I have just asked son... he said that he had groin pain afterwards as well.... it did ease, but still comes back if he overdoes things. It seems it is something to do with the nerves from the spine, but not sure what... the good thing is that if it was a problem, I am sure the consultant would have done something.

Take things a step at a time..... as TW and others have said....

Love and (((((hugs)))))

Hello Mummo..........I'm very pleased to hear that Eddie can be rid of the brace at last . It is a shame that the consultant didn't give you any information and I think Bluemoon has summed it up nicely .

The physio people will soon tell him what is what.

But all in all I still think he has done amazingly well ( you both have )....well done : ))) xx

Well at least the brace can come off - pity the consultant wasn't a little more forthcoming - but hey Eddie is going in the right direction.

Still in my prayers - both of you.

Take care
Love Mary xx

This is great news Mummo. What a shame you have not been given much advice. That seems very lax to me .Now it is the next stage towards a full recovery!!!!
We will still be here for you .

I'm still keeping up with your husband's progress and pleased that the brace can come off now.

I am rather annoyed with that consultant, though, on your behalf. They sometime think they are above us mere mortals. You need all the advice you can get during this recovery period.

Great news about the brace coming off,
I do think that sometimes that Doctors/Consultant seam to forget that this it a new experience for their patients even though it might be an everyday occurrence for them,if i was you I would get Eddie to have a word with his GP over the pain he's getting it could be that the physio will help.

Chin up girl, don't forget how far you have both come and how well you have both coped and as you say things will be a bit easier now the brace is off.

((( hugs to you both )))

That's really good news Mummo, it shows the progress Eddie is making now. He really must keep up with the physio though, as he has not used an awful lot of muscles in the last three months, he has to get them working again, but ONLY as much as the physio tells him. One step at a time.

It's all going in the right direction, try not to be impatient, it will take time, but he will get there.

Well got to the hospital at 10.30am and didn't get to see the consultant till 11.40, then Ed had to have some x rays then back to see the consultant, he said Ed could now take the full body brace off and would now have to have Physiotherapy .
I was quite disappoint in the consulant as he told us nothing, except the above, l did tell him that Eddie was experiencing quite a bit of pain in the groin and the back but he never said anything, also l had to ask what Ed was allowed to do, eg was he allowed upstairs and what else could he not do, his reply was no he wasn't allowed upstairs and no heavy lifting (as if) so came out of the hospital after 2 hours elated that he didn't need the brace (much less work for me now) but a bit down that we were left as to what was what, no one took the brace off or told us what to do with it so Ed wore it home and l'll phone the hospital up on Monday and hopefully get some answers.
Now plenty of Physio to look forward to, lol.
Can l again thankyou all for the support you have given to us both over the last 3 months, it is so good to be able to know that l have friends on here when l've needed you, xxx

Do take care.
