Well that was one hell of a visit.poor Ed is really hullucinating, l've had the nurses are all on drugs, he wants to go to bed as he is standing up and when l told him he was in bed he told me l was lying, then he held my face and asked why l had numbers on my forehead then he got a bit angry because the nurse looking after him, her husband turned up and was taking her home, poor love wouldn't have it that he wasn't
there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway it did worry me as also he was trying to get out of bed but when the doctor came round l asked her what was causing this and she said a combination of the drugs and having no sleep so they are going to give him a sleeping tablet tonight so hopefully he will sleep and tomorrow he will be back to some normality, lol.
So l am going to have a couple of drinks as l feel quite tense now but hey another day tomorrow and fingers crossed no more seeing things and all this on the NHS, lol.

Bless him ....it must be unpleasant to see Eddie like that but as the Doctor says lack of sleep and medication can do funny things to you,
you have yourself a couple of drinks and try to chill out a bit,it wont do you any harm,it might help you get a good nights sleep.

Mummo ...try not to worry about the hallucinations to much . As long as Eddie is being supervised he should be ok .
I saw " wonder woman " when I was in a similar state and everything went into negative ( like a photo )........I asked about " wonder woman " to one of the nurses a week or so after the event and she laughed and said there was someone in the cat scan dept who looked just like her......but she never came to work in the costume ( that's what I saw her dressed in !! lol ) .

Good to read of further signs of progress today.
My friend's husband ( previously mentioned ) had hallucinations too. ...He apparently went fishing with the surgeon in the Irish Sea between his wife's visits. He is fine now and laughs about his 'trips'.

Each day is one more day forward towards recovery. We're all 'with' you while that happens.

It is frightening ( for both of you ) .........but yes......hopefully you will be able to laugh about it in years to come . It's been my experience that some of the hallucinations stay with you , like real memories I suppose......they are most odd indeed .
Once Eddie has had a bloomin good sleep he will hopefully be feeling clearer in the head ......bless him xxx

Hi Mummo - it all sounds pretty normal to me considering the cocktail of drugs he's probably on. Try not to worry although it is distressing to see. Before too long you'll be both sitting with the family and having a good giggle over what Eddie said.

As the others have said, the drugs are just the cause. I had some lovely conversations with my dad, all about the dog sitting at his feet and what golf handicap I was currently playing off. There was no dog of course and I have never played golf in my life. One day he wanted to know why I was speaking to him in Japanese. It was just that the morphine patches he had were a bit too strong. Once the correct levels were sorted out , the hallucinations stopped, he was back to normal he had no recollection of them

Mummo, if it's any comfort, my son was just he same when he had his spleen removed, the morphine had him thinking all sorts of odd things. It'll pass, and hopefully a good night's sleep will help enormously.

It's frightening when you first see it, but it really is only the drugs doing it, and will stop as the dose is reduced and eventually stopped.

My father in law had hallucinations when he was ill, years ago.

He laughed about it afterwards; he said you wouldn't believe what I saw flying round this room. It was amazing that he remembered it, really.

My daughter had hallucinations when she was a toddler. She had a really high temperature at the time and she was too young to tell us what she was 'seeing' but it scared her and us at the time.

I am hoping that tomorrow will bring a better day for both of you.

Morning all, well had four drinks last night and went up and had a little read and then managed to drop off quite quickly till 1.50am when l heard a banging on the front door, opened my bedroom window and it was my next door neighbour she was banging on her on door as she had forgotton her key so l wasn't a happy bunny then l couldn't get back to sleep, last time l looked at the clock it was 4.15am so must have dropped off just after that then the rain hammering on the window woke me early so l'm going to be a Mrs Grumpy today, lol.
Iam waiting for the carpet fitter to come and measure up for the carpets in the hall, stairs and landing this morning and as soon as he has been l can go up the hospital.
Eddie's friend is coming on Tuesday to repair the damage to the walls on the stairs as when Ed fell the tin of paint hit the walls so they are in quite a mess. ( he only just finished decorating)
Well with all this rain l think we will all be buying boats soon, lol. l just hate this damp weather.
