Will certainly continue with the prayers and positive thoughts Mummo. As others have said I am sure that he will be aware that you are there and will be able to hear you so do continue to talk to him when you are there. I hope that you are managing to get some sleep and to eat something, even if it is only soup, you do need your strength.

Hi all, l didn't post yesterday as time l got back from the hospital and phoned family to let them know how Eddie was l was shattered so went to bed about 10. 00pm.
They took Ed out of the induced coma yesterday but he is still on the ventilator and if he could manage that that wouldn't put him back to sleep, he seem to cope with it last night, when l asked him if he was in pain or uncomfortable he did a small shake of the head to say no so l was pleased with that answer.
We did communicate ok, l was holding his hand and he started tapping the front of my wrist, that meant he wanted to know what the time was ( why, lol ) but l did feel sorry for him as he held my hand and pointed to a certain area but l told him he had a catheter but he didn't mean that he wanted a number 2 but they told him that because he had broken his back they couldn't put a bed pan under him and he just had to go in the bed then they would clean it up, he really didn't want to do that but after l had a little talk with him he said he would, god did his dignity go out the window then !!!!!!!!!
Also when l went to leave l told him l loved him and he started squeezing my hand like mad so he wanted to tell me something ..........we got there in the end, it was he love me too, lol. so all in all even though he is still very poorly we did manage to have a few laughs , well l laughed and he smiled with his eyes.
I know l keep saying this but your messages really do help, l am so glad l'm a member of GR, it just shows you that there are good people on here that get you through all of our upsets we encounter in our daily lifes. xxxxxx
