~~~~ to Barbra, Persey, and Sandie
Not been around much as I have to leave relatively early each morn to drive to Waroona.
I hope that you are all ok, and that at least in the UK you are looking forward to Spring.
Hello All, sorry not called in recently, trying to clrear out a lot of irelevant paperwork from my FH files. (Not really working as I keep getting sidetracked by finding letters/emails from people that have to be re-read.
Allen I wish Spring was on the way. There are some snowdrops out down the road but only a few, it is so damp and dark that spring seems a long way off.
Allan Report 15 Jan 2011 22:16
Hi Ann
I wish that it was at least damp here in the SW of Western Australia!
We have just had the driest period on record and our temps are in the mid to high 30's.
Hi Barbra
The job is totally boring: I don't know why they got me in, it's just a wast of their money. Still, as one person said, "Is that your concern?". It isn't, of course, but I'd pefer a bit more work to justify my charges!
Hi all~~
Allan
My cousin used to live in what I thought was Waroonga, is there such a place or is it Waroona where you work? She now lives North of Sydney, if I heard it correctly it sounded like Warway ? Worway ?
Funny how we all wish we had different weather, when I was about 10 the seasons were what we expected them to be, but now.........?
Nite Barbra~~~
TonyOz Report 16 Jan 2011 00:21
Good morning from the east coast of Oz.
Haven't been on the thread lately, as there is to much going on in this part of the Country at the moment.
Busy trying to make contact with various relos and friends that live in the flood effected area's. All are safe at the moment.
"Droughts and Flooding rains" as one of our popular Aussie poems reminds us!!
Oz is a vast Country as you say Barbra.
At the moment one could possibly think that Allan and myself live in different Countries....lol
We are flooding in the East and they are fighting fires in the West.
Have a great day/night to all.
Tony....:>)) 11:30 am Sunday ( Melbourne time)
Allan
Allan Report 16 Jan 2011 21:40
G'day Tony, I hope that you are not too badly affected by all the rain in Victoria. It seems like all the eastern States are copping it at the moment.
Sandie I am currently working at Waroona: there is a Wahroonga in NSW and also a town, north of Sydney called Woy Woy. So many place names are either the same or sound very similar.
Barbra, our housing market hasn't been as badly affected by the global financial crisis as other countries but there have been a few adjustments in prices mainly downwards. Perth, however, continues to have overinflated prices due to the mining boom.
In some of the actual mining towns houses are scarce and rental proerties can fetch up to $2,000.00 dollars per week!
Hi Ethics folk~~~
I'm shattered , my gorgeous hubby has done the washing up after lunch, done tea for himself and helpless son !!..... They know I don't 'do' Sunday tea.
But.. I have some shirts to iron, I don't shirk my wifely duties on that one.:)
Allan ..both places my cousin Kay lived / lives in were near Sydney.
Her son Andrew, from whom she is estranged has lived in the UK for a few yrs, he is returning to Oz after their 2nd child is born in June /July. They wanted dual nationality for both children. His Aunt Aidre also estranged from her sister thinks of him as her son, but they will keep in regular contact. Aidre's son committed suicide after finding out his wife's infidelity :((
Less on the morbid side hope you are all as well as you'd wish for :))
Sandie, I must get you to chat with my wife...I do the ironing. I also enjoy cooking( but I'm no gourmet!) I will wash up, particularly if I've done the cooking. I detest cleaning and polishing
Lol Allan~~~
Hubby often does the hoovering cos it gives me dreadful back pain, he's a good cook too, can iron..... but I can't let him do it all can I..?..Lol
He recently completely revamped the bathroom, large corner shower cubicle instead of the bath, smashing mirrored units and vanity unit so plenty of storage. That is now my pride and joy and he doesn't have to lay a finger in there for it to be spotless ! I'm back an fro when anyone showers... 4 times a day on average.lol
Just cleaned the shower for the night...all spick and span:)
Have to do the shirts now.
Excuse any spelling errors as I am on my hubby's lappy (not literally) and the mouse isn't working either .
I suppose it will make me get used to the pad quicker !!
Persephone Report 17 Jan 2011 03:35
Must stop skimming was wondering why Sandie's hubbie had been busy smashing mirrored units etc.
I do everything!
No, it just seems like it... live with messie jessie so it's constant tidy upping on my part. I'm always getting into trubble tho he will put out a clean cup and go away and then come back to make his drink and find cup is gone. It is in the dishwasher. I do that with lots of things that he leaves out to use.
Both daughters have married chaps that will do housework and meals etc. My younger son-in-law is very tidy and my daughter said to me, I don't know how you live with dad. She forgets she lived with us both for over 23 years.
Two builders (Dave and Stuart) are seated either side of a table in a pub when a well-dressed man enters, orders a beer and sits on a stool at the bar.
The two builders start to speculate about the occupation of the suit
Dave: - I reckon he's an accountant.
Stuart: - No way - he's a stockbroker
Dave: - He ain't no stockbroker! A stockbroker wouldn't come in here!
The argument repeats itself for some time until the volume of beer gets the better of Dave and he makes for the toilet. On entering the toilet he sees that the suit is standing at a urinal. Curiosity and the several beers get the better of him.
Dave: - 'Scuse me.... no offence meant, but me and me mate were wondering what you do for a living?
Suit: - No offence taken! I'm a Logical Scientist by profession
Dave: - Oh? What's that then?
Suit: - I'll try to explain by example ... Do you have a goldfish at home?
Dave: - Er ... mmm ... well yeah, I do as it happens!
Suit: - Well, it's logical that you keep it either in a bowl or in a pond.
Which is it?
Dave: - It's in a pond!
Suit: - Well it's reasonable to suppose that you have a large garden then?
Dave: - As it happens, yes I have got a big garden..
Suit: - Well then it's logical to assume that, in this town, if you have a large garden then you have a large house?
Dave: - As it happens I've got a five bedroom house ..... built it myself!
Suit: - Well given that you've built a five bedroom house it's logical to assume that you haven't built it just for yourself and that you are quite probably married? And with a family?
Dave: - Yes I am married, I live with my wife and four children.
Suit: - Well then it is logical to assume that you are sexually active with your wife on a regular basis?
Dave: - Yep! Five times a week!
Suit: - Well then it is logical to suggest that you don't masturbate very often?
Dave: - Do what? Not me, mate!
Suit: - Well there you are! That's logical science at work!
Dave: - How's that then?
Suit: - Well from finding out that you had a goldfish, I've told you about your sex life!
Dave: - I see! That's pretty impressive. Thanks mate!
Both leave the toilet and Dave returns to his mate.
Stuart: - I see the suit was in there. Did you ask him what he does?
Dave: - Yep! He's a logical scientist!
Stuart: - What's that then?
Dave: - I'll try and explain. Do you have a goldfish?
Stuart: - Nope
Dave: - Well then, you're a wanker
Lol Perse, can't top that.
Hello all another dark damp miserable day here. Hope all are well. Been clearing out books to take to the charity shops, in the past two weeks we have taken 8 carrier bags full (on the bus), not all on one day of course. Still more to go, they seem to mount up. Trying not to buy any at the moment as I have a load still to read.
