Do you make your own wine Allan..?

We used to, BC ( before children), I'm not a red wine lover but our plum, damson and elderberry were excellent, tho I say it myself.
Hubby used to do most of those, I only did the preparation.
Mayflower was a beautiful one, took ages to pick, ages to prepare but was worth the wait.lol
Tea wine was a cracker, so easy to make, my neighbour was drinking it with us one night ..we thought he'd gone home, but found him next morning behind the settee , worse for wear but OK.lol
Oh for the old days .! lol

Allan Report 11 Dec 2010 23:03

Barbra, very informal affair except for the mayor who was wearing a suit and his chain of office...he looked a bit flushed.

Yep OH drove home :0))

Sandie, when we lived in the UK I always brewed my own beer and made my own wine.

I've continued the beer brewing over here but just recently started with kits rather thab mixing all the ingredients myself.

I recently did do a couple of wines, a parsley and a rose petal. I'm not sure whether the Parsley is going to be ok as the fermentation went haywire. The rose petal is looking OK and I have made this before in the UK

Hi folks~~

Barbra ,sorry about your fall, hope you're OK .

Hope it wasn't our previous chat about home made brewing of wines and beer that 'went to your head' and made you fall.lol

Son's just home from work, As*a, must go and see what last minute goodies he's brought home. They reduce perishables to a silly price at 9.30 and if not sold the staff can had them for pennies or they get thrown out.
Back in a bit. x

Hello Barbra and Sandie,

Barbra sorry to read about your fall. Does that mean that you are now a fallen woman? :0))

Seriously, though, falls can be nasty particularly if you have hit your head on something.

Sandie, that's one way of stocking up for Christmas and there is no hanging about at overcrowded check-outs.

Allan~~~~ Hi...Sadly we only have a small freezer :(

It was 2 packs of Granary rolls ( 4 in a pack) and a pack of 4 Granary baguettes son brought home tonight.
Hubby's tucking into to one of the rolls as I type and plans for him and dau to take the other rolls to work tomorrow .
Blast, that just leaves the baguettes for son and I tomorrow.lol.. unless he scoffs them before !

I used to be a Tes*o shopper but now son and I have a discount card 10% on purchases I shop there, it is actually closer.. just a 20min walk,3 in the car.

Son is only a ' seasonal worker ' in As*a, it was his job when he was in Uni, cos he travelled to Uni daily he could do late shifts ,and any times on his days off.
He has graduated now and is looking for a job in IT, no luck yet, but he still has this job ,of course he can do more shifts , often does 5am to 12, he gets all the anti social shifts that others don't like,4pm to 10 on Fridays and Saturdays.. but it's money to him :))
If and when he gets a full time job in his chosen career, he says he'll still stay on with As*a just for the 10%discount.lol .. We'll wait and see.

lol Sandy.

When I was doing Port Health work in Grimsby I got to know the Hygiene people at Ross Foods. They arranged for an ID card to be issued to me so that I could use the Ross Shop which was only for employees. The savings were significant!

G'day Tony and Barbra and anyone else who may be around.

Tony, mate, I know the feeling too well. I hope that you have an enjoyable festive season and that it is not too soggy where you are. Unlike the Estern States, parts of WA are crying out for rain.

I must apologise for yesterday, and not really responding to posts, but I got diverted and then had to do some early shopping before the crowds got out. I have a social function to go to tonight so I was getting the gear together to make two hampers for a raffle.

I will have to go out early this morning to prepare the room for tonight's event.
