Allan I am ok thanks :0)) my brother still waiting for news he has been on a three wk rota. so after Flu bug. has to wait another three wks now !! you can have some of our rain never stopped today .think better forecast for wk end. still got summer bedding plants in the garden . in november,, .put some bulbs in ready for next spring, not a curry fan sorry a song comes to mind skip to my loo. is that the tittle ?? OH has been busy pulling up our no longer needed vegies and herbs. The parsley ran wild so most of that has gone...into a wine recipe I have. It's years since I made any wine but it's a shame to waste the material.

our weather is forecast a lot cooler for the next few days with more rain towards the end of next week.

I hope that your brother's rota comes up for him

Glad you have some rain, must have been a relief from the heat!!

My oldest son has mentioned Vindaloo a couple of times when he was doing home ec at school. Could you possibly post your recipe, please? I wouldn't mind trying it out:-)

Thanks for your pm. You will have to gauge the amount of chilli flakes (if used) to equate to the four dried chilles, but as a vindaloo is supposed to be one of the hotter curries, i tend to over estimate rather than under.

A few more days of cooler weather forecast with rain next week :0))

Hi Barbra. OK apart from a gammy knee and a recently diagnosed cataract.

Also I think that I have finally isolated my computer problems...it is probably my modem. When I connect via dial up everything works well, but slow. On broadband via that modem all sorts of weird things happen on the internet

Allan can you have treatment for your eye . they can do laser treatment . would you have to pay in Oz . your gammy knee is because of you playing with the dustbins on your early walks ;0))

Barbra, yes cataracts are done in public hospitals but hopefully it will be a while before it needs treatment. There is a long waiting list but as I don't have private medical cover I'll just have to join the queue :0))

I have an eye test 3rd December diebetic screening .have had one before . last yr .had to have eye drops in chap said wont sting it b~~~~y did ;0((. . what are you doing today . ? Barbra

Mine was picked up from diabetic screening last month. The bl**dy specialist talked as though we had discussed this a couple of years ago!

I have plenty of books to read when the weather is like this and I recently rejoined the Library. I'd completely forgotten about the joys of the local libraries.

Well, what a b*gger

Just sat down last night to watch Junior Masterchef, OH was on the computer....power cut! Off for just over an hour.

Fortunately, we are well prepared for such eventualities as they occur on a regular basis. Usually in Summer on a very hot day when all the air-conditioners go on at once and overload the system, or in Winter when the gales bring down the power lines.

No indications of what caused last night's blackout as weather although wet was mild and no wind.

Possibly a car crash bringing down a power pole
