Apparently they did manage to move on to other topics Muffy, but not much I don't think.

Let's face it, rightly or wrongly, this is the first time people have had the chance to publicly take him to task over the BNP constitution and the things he himself has said.

Uggers Report 22 Oct 2009 22:56

Brilliant stuff:) I don't mind if this is all about the BNP - about time they were looked at seriously in public - no good throwing a blanket over these things and the economy has been pretty well discussed on QT.

Lip licking shows stress and lies.

Muffyxx Report 22 Oct 2009 22:44

I hope this isn't going to be ALL about the BNP tbh........we're in the middle of an economic crisis where real workers with a proper work ethic are losing their jobs through no fault of their own....yes this race issue IS important in the wider sense but I really hope that other issues are also addressed on this show as this relates to a lot of people who are going through hell NOW.

Well it's on now, lets see how he was attacked. According to the news he was passionately attacked from all sides, and the clips were a good indicator...

Let no one be misled...this is a man who , if he and his party ever came to power, ( God forbid) would start curtailing 'the 'freedom of speech' he is relying on tonight. The steps would be slow and small and deadly, the death of decency, tolerance , compassion and freedom.

And if I thought this country, for all its faults, my country...would go that way, I would be out of it tomorrow.

Simple as that .

Well he's just about to leave or has just left the BBC building...not sure if he's been blocked by demonstrators or now, but the main body of them is outside one of the back entrances. Either way, Question Time has been recorded.

and just in case anyone has missed it , this has a run down on those participating tonight

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/question_time/8315226.stm

"In 1998 he (Griffin) was convicted of violating section 19 of the Public Order Act 1986, relating to incitement to racial hatred, for his editorship of issue 12 of The Rune, published in 1996. He had written: "I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that six million Jews were gassed and cremated and turned into lampshades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the Earth was flat... the 'extermination' tale is a mixture of Allied wartime propaganda, extremely profitable lie, and latter witch-hysteria."

What more does anyone need to know about this man? !

Dermot, this isn't a trial. How I feel about Nick Griffin is based on what I have seen of the BNP and it's views so far, and it's not favourable.

I'm not overkeen on Baroness Warsi, she has a tendency to see racism where there isn't any, but should make interesting (and tense) viewing.

Rambling Report 22 Oct 2009 20:15

Dermot...yes!

edit... Speaking for myself...

I don't need to see and hear him to make the decision...I only need to go on experience and an ability to read the 'small print'

Demonstrators outside the BBC are now moving en-masse toward the shopping centre...nobody is sure why at the moment.

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 22 Oct 2009 20:12

Think the panellists now are Jack Straw, Baroness Warsi, Chris Huhne, Nick Griffin and Bonnie Greer.

Dermot

Dermot Report 22 Oct 2009 20:10

Have we all decided on the verdict before the trial?

Just watching it on BBC news channel, there's about 500 (looks more to me) protestors outside the BBC now...

OMG, As he walked in to the BBC, he said he knew this would be a big event, there are a lot of Labour Party-financed groups out there....what a *******

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 22 Oct 2009 20:04

Just saw a clip on the news ... No Lenny, shame he's very bright and quick, I am sure he would have made mincemeat out of him.
