Well I remain disappointed.

I wanted to watch a proper debate about current issues with maybe a few questions on the BNP thrown in for good measure.

.......I felt it could've been handled a lot better than it was xxx

Silly Sausage Report 23 Oct 2009 20:07

Arrggggg...You see what I think is the BNP is just another branch of the NF, I remember going to Manchester once as a teenager with my mother and there was a 1 legged old man shouting his mouth off about the bus driver and bus conductor being black and how they are taking over our country and went on to say how he had lost a leg for his country and blah blah and how the NF had the right idea, after enough of hearing his foul gob and I have a fought in a war, my mum stood up and said " yeah and millions others...like my brothers father and OH and his family....they fought a racist dictator ....and won now your wonderful NF is just the same the hate blacks gays anyone on the welfare state hate over 60's think they should be slaughted have no use for them especially one legged ones so if I was you ...I'd save your vote or start digging your own grave.....she got a round of a applaus...

"Did anyone notice that one of Griffin's entourage today, as shown on the news, was actually the 'man in the yellow shirt' who asked a question about immigration on last night's programme? Just to correct the notion that Diddums had no friends in the audience .......... "

Anyone see?!

In the end, Nick Griffin is a middle-class twit; and, like so many other middle-class twits, he thinks he has the right to speak for the working-class. Patronising fool.

As Rose said, they were protestors, which is their democratic right. Protests also got rid of the poll tax remember? And that got messy at times. The protests had nothing to do with the viewing ratings for the programme, but the fact that Nick Griffin was going to appear this week was announced weeks ago.

Uggers Report 23 Oct 2009 19:49

Rubbish, Bob. The trouble outside happened yesterday evening before the show - the hype about the show had been going on for weeks. I have no idea what sort of people they were - how can you 'see' that people were normal minded?

I don't think anyone is disputing that he has his own politics and has the right to orate. It's the subject of his politics and his views that some people on this thread find so abhorrent.

Rambling

Rambling Report 23 Oct 2009 19:49

Bob he didn't orate though.....he fudged, he blustered, he sniggered...but what he definitely wasn't capable of was oration ! :)

To credit this 'person' with having policies is to give him much more credit than he is due ...he is a prat, albeit a dangerous prat.

And 'troublemakers' is a term I disagree with , they were protestors.... which is still our democratic right... it wouldn't be under the BNP. well not unless you can prove your English ethnicity beyond a reasonable doubt........ they could measure noses i guess?!

Bobtanian Report 23 Oct 2009 19:38

You know,
I didnt watch much of the program, I was out,

BUT the man has his own politics, and he has the right to orate, as well as any other politician, has the right...,

now who were the troublemakers outside the studio??
as far as I can see, it was mainly the so called "NORMAL" minded people.

NOW if they had kept quiet, the show would likely have passed off without much publicity, as it was, the BNP got MORE than their fair share of publicity due to all the fuss.........
just my opinion, mind.......

Glad to say I'm neither of those....and it's all very well to say Griffins parents were facists, my Grandad was, facist and racist as they come, but it didn't make me think he was right.

Rambling Report 23 Oct 2009 17:18

I have been reading on another site ( and having my say lol) .... 'scratch' any group of people ( even those who are 'old enough to know better) and it seems that racism, homophobia, and ill informed prejudice , is just under the surface. I am if anything more outraged at some of the comments ( often from those who didn't see it ) than I was at Griffin himself....aaaargggh!

It does prove though that by and large the people on GR are very intelligent ;))

Do you not think that applies to Nick Griffin, Dermot?

Dermot

Dermot Report 23 Oct 2009 10:32

A conservative spokesperson say that she'd been on a TV programme last night with someone who was, "a slippery, slimmy, sliding, fascist liar".

I didn't know (President) Tony Blair had been on?
