Morning all~~ just .lol

Rained earlier but now it' cloudy, with lots of sun :)

No one liked my idea of using the Dolly in the kitchen, certainly not the bathroom, surprise surprise.
Asked my aunt she used to use one, which she did, so it's probably mum's rather than nan's.
I've got loads of things I keep for sentimental reasons, but you can't really put a Dolly in a glass show cabinet, so I'm going to sell it on e.bay.
The exact same one is going for £10 as a private sale and £40 with a dealer !

Hi~~

Unable to get hold of my aunt, but googled Washing dolly, their description fits mine exactly, down to them being copper and there's a pic.lol

Apparently some peeps now use them as toilet roll holders, I suppose it would look good with the copper cleaned up and the handle varnished :)
But my new bathroom is going to be a white suite, light ,dark grey and silver tiles, shower will be white base with any metal chrome, so it probably wouldn't go ; family probably wouldn't like it anyway, perhaps I'll use it in the kitchen as a kitchen roll holder.lol

It is also referred to as a Posser in some pics and some are all wooden:)

I wondered if poss sticks had a different name in other areas. Was it a dolly?

Hi~~

Hope you've had a good day:)

I have a copper upside down cup shaped implement, covered bottom with holes in it, on a wooden stick.. Kept it when my parents died, for sentimental reasons, don't know if was theirs or my grandparents, but know it was used for washing , not heard of poss stick tho, different areas have different names for the same thing.
My 90 yr old aunt will know straight away what the item I have is called locally:)).. Will let you know :)

It's been a lovely day here, and whilst I'm not a golf fan I'm pleased that after a bad start weather wise, the European won it in Wales :)

$andie, I thought when my two got homes of there own I would hardly have any washing but I still seem to have lots lol.My hot flushes/sweats mean I can't wear anything twice and the grand kids are often here so I have their pyjamas and clothes to wash too.
At least we can be grateful we aren't using poss sticks and wringers these days lol

Hia all~~

Glad you're doing doing well with the youth Maz , they need something to stimulate their minds, keep them occupied and happy. ( Not being specific just generalizing ) You're doing a good job, nothing like that around here.

We've had a fairly fine day, 2 wash loads dried.
I'm always on about washing, but is the pain of my life .lol
My neighbour say's to me 'you have washing out every day ! how do you manage ? '
Yeah well she had 2 girls with a bigger age gap than my 2.
You just have to cope don't you !

Hi all~~

Late on again .lol

It's been throwing it down with rain since first thing, perhaps you heard that they had to delay the Ryder cup in Newport, 20 miles from me.

There was a break in the weather about 2.30 when I walked home from the dreaded hairdressers, just had a dry cut and apart from taking a few snips at it when I got home,I was fairly pleased.lol.
It's been fine since about 7, let's hope it's better tomorrow .

Nite God bless.

Shame your hubby won't give in $andie, there really are a lot of gorgeous dogs needing to find a home down your way and it would be company for you on your walks.
Maz,hope the young people work continues and you see increase in numbers and in support.I am glad Ray is getting settled in..Praying for God to bless all areas in your church and outreach xxx

Hi all~~

You are trying to tempt me Paula. lol. about the dogs in S Wales, but I am still having a problem persuading my hubby.
He's a Capricorn and and stubborn as they come when he has his mind set on something ! ...He doesn't want a dog !

I can use my charms on him for other things, he just bought me a Welsh Gold Clogau Tree of life ring, which I have been hankering about for ages.
( Joint account so no big deal ! ) for my birthday which was yesterday, and a Breo XL sports watch, just a cheapy compared to the ring !!
I'm working on a neighbour who seems to take in strays... if one appears on my doorstep ,.....it will be staying !

Are you looking for another ? I must have missed a few posts.
