Easter Bunny Report 7 Dec 2010 09:18

GOT THE COFFEE MORNING TODAY.As Maz said we have more snow. It's very slippy out the front but will do my best to get there. Ava has almost lost her voice, poor bairn.
Cara is going to the panto (Cinderella) at the Gala theatre with school. The annoying thing is Rochelle bought tickets some time ago so it will not be the same when she goes with Cara.

*$parkling $andie* Report 6 Dec 2010 12:19

Hi ladies,~~
Paula , we always had small mongrels as family dogs, adorable, intelligent and well behaved, Dad and I taught them.
They wouldn't listen to my sister hence she took her Boxers and Lab to classes.
I'm sure Lois will be well trained :))
Always loved dogs since our first one was born a week before me, mum came home , heavily pregnant from the Anti natal clinic to find our bitch had given birth to puppies at the bottom of the stairs.::))
always had male dogs since.lol
I think / know dogs sense how dominant and confident you are with them, when I had dad's rescue dog ( cos he couldn't walk him in his late 80's )
I had no prob with him, tho dad had had walked him on a leash I could take him out without one, no probs, always had one with me in case of other dogs.
Maz ,
I missed my 90yr old neighbour this morning, she was out at about 9am, it was so blinking icy !! but I was having a lift with hubby to the Drs, must look out for her at about 2pm.
Hope your livewires do goes well:)

HI, $ANDIE, I will train Lois myself as I have all my dogs in the past. I have gone to training classes when I was at school with the dog I had then and to advanced obedience/agility with 2 shepherds I had in my 30s.
I am trying not to send as many cards by mail this year too apart from the cost the postman says there is a massive backlog of mail at the depot so cards might not get to their destination anyway.
Hope the livewires goes well Maz.
Our pipes were frozen this morning, ....what an annoyance

Hi ladies~~

Keeping an eye out for my neighbour Meg, tho we've had rain overnight and it is sunny now so it shouldn't be too icy in the sun. But she will still walk her dog what ever the weather ! Bless.

I've sent my sister's Xmas card and written my BIL's must get on with the rest of them.

Dizzi had a good idea about e.mailing cards to her friends rather than sending snail mail at the cost of about 40p a stamp, so in this world of hi tec, I think I will do that.
100 cards is 40 quid !!!.. not all on my email contacts, some I send locally via the Scouts, 15p each, other's I can hand deliver... don't I sound like a Scrooge !!
Keep warm folks~~~

Hi ladies~~

Yes Maz, my only aunt alive now (mum's sister who has always been very close, she's my 2nd mum now , is 90 :)) whilst she is sprightly and got all her faculties , I'd be horrified if I thought she was out walking on her own in this weather ! So I try to look out for my neighbour and walk with her.

Hope you get you groceries delivered Paula:)
I don't 'do the tree' any more, it's dau's job, but I wont have deccies up more than a week before Xmas.
Pup will soon get her claws down when she out walking and running about, bet she'll be be like a wild thing for while.
Will you take her to training classes or are you confident to train her yourself.?
I always trained mine(family dogs ) myself, but they wouldn't listen to my sister, so when she had her own dogs , Boxers and a Lab she took them to classes.
It's looking slushy outside now.. hope it doesn't freeze !

Easter Bunny Report 4 Dec 2010 11:54

it was very very cold last night.I heard the pup crying around 5-30 this morning but decided to ignore her and stay in bed.Got up at half seven and came down. She had pood in her cage all over her blanket so I wished I had got up earlier lol
Have been busy dusting and general sorting/tidying this morning as didn't get a lot done through the week while the girls were here. I'm hoping to put the Christmas tree up this afternoon. It's a job I really hate... putting it up and taking it down, although I like to see it. Rochelle and Richard both have theirs up already for the little ones so I thought we had better get ours down from the loft too.
Hopefully Tes*o will make it with my shopping delivery this afternoon.Gary went out for meat and veg for tomorrow and we have bread and milk and dog food etc so will be ok for a couple more days if the Tes*o van can't get here.
Pup can go out now and I was looking forward to walking her on the pavements to wear her sharp little claws down a bit but with the snow it's not happening lol.
Everyone passing by my house appears to be a foot taller because the snow is banked so high. We are unlucky that the pavement is very narrow and when the plough comes through it shoves the snow onto the path, plus with what comes off the roof ,there are mini mountains everywhere.
Hope you are managing to keep warm and that none of us slip on the ice this winter. We have no preacher tomorrow , one of our own men is taking the service and our president will be taking the sacrament service straight after.

Hi ladies~~

Don't know if we had snow over night , may have had it before midnight , just a heavy frost again. Roads are nasty tho !
Had a lift over to A*da with hubby this morning and then had my half an hour walk back, all snowy under foot but I had my 'Kickers' shoes on with a thick tread, great when the snow has been compacted , need wellies if it's fresher snow !
Oh ! temp must have dropped heating has come on , on the thermostat.
I'm going out now to see if my 90 yr old neighbour is walking her dog, I always like to give her an arm under hers in this weather:)

*$parkling $andie* Report 3 Dec 2010 00:26

Should be in bed ...but same old same old with the joints, I'd go out for a walk excep[ for the snow !

We had quite a few heavy snow falls today, I was a bit worried as my 3 were out in their cars.Dau has never driven her new car in snow before and was a bit wary, hubby's new car is not too good in the snow and son finished work at 10pm, but they all managed to get home safely up our hill (quite steep).
Dau is going to Centre Parks tomorrow !!, her freinds dad who is taking them to the railway station has failed to get his car home and is parked at the car park at the bottom of our hill!! They live the opposite of the main road to us but up an even steeper hill,we can see their house across the valley are on about the same level as them. Happy days !

Glad you've managed to have your flu jabs Paula, I 'd have one if I was eligble. I have to be thankful i have no health probs to fall into the categories to need one:)

Sleep well and keep warm:)

have one or both grandchildren all week. Ava even slept a couple of nights. School is open 9-2 tomorrow which means I will have to pick our Cara up as Rochelle cant get back from work in time.
We have cancelled a church business meeting on Saturday and a fish and chip lunch at church next Tuesday because of the weather. It's been dreadful the past couple of days.Gary and I went for our flu jabs last night and had to park on the main road and walk part of the way to the doctors.
The surgery was empty and we got straight in and out. There were a few cars that looked abandoned I was so pleased to get back home.

Morning ladies~~

Gosh , wondered why you were ' late' Maz.lol

Gone are the days when I use to get up very early when it was snowy, and tune in to our local radio station to find out which schools had been closed.

It's snowed again overnight, our road is white with2 inches of snow, can't see the main road, it's a bit foggy.
Will have to get out with my snow shoveler later to redo the path around the house and the drive. Rest of patio and garden is now about 5 - 6 inches deep, cos the first snowfalls haven't cleared and we're likely to have more.
It's so easy to use and so light, my arms and back used to ache for days when I used the garden spade (shovel was much too heavy for me )
It was minus 5 most of yesterday ,maybe ' warmer ' today cos of the fog but that seems to be lifting and the wind is picking up:(((

Keep warm folks :)
