*$parkling $andie* Report 12 Feb 2011 14:40

Hi~~

Hubby's turn to bring the tea towels from work to be washed , washed them last night and put them out early but whilst were out we have a sharp shower !, but it's brightened up again, so I've left them and my morning wash out to blow. Keeping and eye on the weather ,as I don't want to rewash it all and then have to tumble it:(

Hope you're keeping as well as you'd like to be:)

Having seen the consultant about my hand. he suggested an investigative surgery before any correction, that has to be done under general anaesthetic, never had it before !!
Dr said it would be local anaesthetic, and at my local hosp,10 miles away, but turns out not to be the case :(
The surgeon only sees patients at either of 2 hosps 20 or 30 miles away .
And cos it general anaesthetic , I can't drive afterwards.
Oh what a grizzler I am , hubby's had 4 op's under general, in his younger yrs, I've given birth to 2 children with just gas and air,... but I like to know what's going on , and do not like the thought of a general for just an investigative op !
Well what will be will be if I want it sorted.

Morning all~~~

Lol Maz, switching on the PC before I went to work, if I did, would be last on my list, as you say so much to be done for the day.
I worked full time when I had my 2, my in-laws were paid childminders, I don't know how I managed to fit everything in !

The sun shining now, but it was quite misty earlier on.

Hello girls,
had some internet probs again. Keep getting updates which either take forever or else cause probs which I don't have a clue how to sort and have to wait for Gary to put right.
Winds have been terrible and like you $andie, my eyes stream making it hard to see which unnerves me a bit when walking the dog early morning when it's still quite dark.
Pleased your mammagram results were clear Maz xxxxx

Hi~~~~
Damp and misty here.:(

Yesterday was blue skies and eventually became windy so most of my washing dried:)

I need a hair cut, it's growing 'wild' again, think I will do what I did last time ,just have a dry cut, see how 'bad 'the crown of my head is colour wise
The most of it is greying, the nape of head has no grey , but it's that bit at the crown and at which seems whiter !!
I hate being a slave to fashion, hate them blow drying my hair, cos it's naturally curly, they seem to straighten it, and straight doesn't suit me.
I seem to have gone even curlier since hitting 50 ! and a lot greyer .lol

Hi girls~~

Oops , becoming a Maz thread again.

Won't bore you with my excuses for not posting, except Migraine this morning, after I had clicked.
I can feel them coming on before I get the flashing zig zag lights in my right eye.

One thing I'm pleased about for this thread, with the new set up on GR is that it defaults to the first posting...tells peeps what it's about, hopefully it will get more peeps clicking.
Annoys me with other threads I've just posted on tho.!

Front garden is strew with pieces of plastic sheeting (various sizes), presumable blown from a neighbours who is having a loft conversion.
Too wet and windy to clear them up !!

Hi ~~~
No let up in this weather !
Some neighbours have had ridge tiles blown off.
Our tiles seem all secure thankfully.
We've lost a few in the past...
Many yrs ago whilst hubby was carrying baby dau to the car a tile came off , narrowly missing them.. and crashed onto the bonnet of the car ! Phew close one..what's damage on a car compared to a life !!
The whole car could have been damaged as far as I was concerned, tuf, as long as my 2 loved ones were safe.

Hi folks~~~
Same here Maz weather wise , last night I was weighing down bins with bricks, wedged in the large 80 litre black council bin with nan's large ceramic plant pot ( still full of perennials ).
However the waste food bin blew away down the garden.. locked (,so it didn't spill it's contents ) and the waste paper recycling bin did the same, minus it's lid , think hubby found it and replaced it..contents probably soggy !!
I nearly got blown off my feet walking down our road at I.30pm, just out to ensure my 90yr neighbour doesn't take her dog this way, she usually does at around 2,30pm.
Son just told me he'd been on MSN and the roof had been blown off one off the new Campus buildings in either Newport or Cardiff Uni's !

16.04..Phew ! just spotted my neighbour Meg walking the dog at her usual time, so abandoned this post, grabbed my coat and went out with her around the block, that takes an hour !..then I took her home and she kept chatting ,bless her.{ the walk would have taken me 5 mins::) }
I'm no saint but she would have literally been blown off her feet if she'd been on her own, we both nearly were at at one point !!
She won't let anyone else walk the dog, yet cos I go with her quite often the dog listens to my commands, she walks her at school time without a lead and there are always cars about.
The school children love her and call her across the road which Meg doesn't always see. The dog always comes back when I call her and follows my commands ( but Meg won't have it ! she insists on walking her herself ) and have told the schoolchildren not to do so and that if they want to fuss her to walk the same side of the road to do so.

Must do food for my son, just had a short text.. he was absent when I got back,
(I think he's going to the Rugby International in Cardiif tonight.) and wants food for 5pm
Byee~~~

Edit ..just read only part of the roof at one of the Newport Campus has been damaged, roads close tho causing traffic congestion in the city.
