Easter Bunny Report 20 Jul 2011 14:55

went to wetherspoons in houghton this morning. It's the first time we have been there and I was very impressed .It was very clean and we had a cuppa while Ava had a childs breakfast. She had a sausage,a rasher of bacon, a hash brown, an egg and beans. She also had a fruit shoot drink. was only around a fiver for the lot and well worth it.It used to be the old Buffs club at one time and the only thing to fault it was the lighting in the bit where we were was dingy, although there were at least 3 rooms you could choose from to sit in.Very comfy chairs, lovely fire places, paintings, book shelves and old stuff like a world globe and model ships near our table Rather like a gentlemans club.Hope to go back again :-)

Hi all~~

Just walked my next door neighbours spaniel, Molly, they both have a real bad dose of the flu or some virus.
Molly is very nervous tho I walked her before, but she hadn't been for a walk for days.

My good deed for the day :)

Very late evening all~~

I'm boring Maz I have a plain ring tone on my phone :-)

I had quite a plain one before , but my message tone sounded like the sound the 'price workers' used in Tes*o , and I was for ever checking it when I was shopping there.!

Had quite a fine day here today :-)

Must go and iron 2 shirts for tomorrow.

Afternoon all~~

Nearly evening !
Been walking neighbours spaniel pup, she's a darling. He's been to Bury St Edmunds with the local choir and his mum can't walk far enough to exercise the dog.Twice yesterday and once today , he's home now so he can do this evenings walk. I'm 'booked' again for Thursday as he is going into hospital for an op on his elbow.

What or 'who' is your Avatar Maz? :) Looks like a frog aviator, am I close?..:)

Hyia~~~

Sorry to hear about Treacle, I bet little Ava was devastated being there at the time, but things like that teach them about life, good and bad and how to deal with them.
I know the names of most of the wild flowers and weeds in our area, probably a combination of parents and our junior school nature walks . They didn't have those on the curricula when my 2 where in school, but this area is not as rural as the village I lived in. They did used to take them to the local borough theatre, free cos they saw dress rehearsals of up and coming events, had cycling proficiency testing and swimming lessons at the local leisure centre and quite a few lot others in school and after school activities. They were and still are a good school.

My village school is sadly closed now, as are so many village schools.
Maz I remember taking the numbers of children staying for school dinners up to the canteen so they knew how many to cater for, that was after half past 9 in the morning, that's why I wondered why you were up so early for work.... it's all changed I know, early school times and breakfasts etc
All my school life was 9am start, summer or winter. :-)
Is it a junior or senior school you work at ?

Both my 2 went the local junior Comp, then had to chose after their GCSE's at to where they wanted to go for the 6th form and A levels; they both chose different schools !
2 to 2 1/2 mile walk either way, they walked home usually ! There was a time when hubby was redundant from British Steel when he used to pick up dau.
I used to take dau and friend every other week , friends mother and I share.
I had given up work when son went to senior comp so he often used to borrow my car, but hubby was back in work by then, so he could take him but he had to walk home ;-) Kept him fit !!

Off to look at the boards now.

was freezing this morning but is glorious out there now.
Talking of weeds and flowers, when Ava and I were walking Lois earlier we were looking at lots of them. Buttercups, purple and white clover, groundsel, bind weed, rosebay willow herb, chickweed, cow parsley, bedstraw, plantain and vetch and lots I dont know or have forgotten the names. It made me think how I knew the names and suppose my mam and dad must have told me when I was little. I can remember being fascinated by each one and examining them very closely. Perhaps because we only had a back yard at home.
Had to laugh though when Ava, after asking several questions said,"Grandma, you're so clever, you know EVERYTHING " lol
...if only.
She was playing happily today but has been heart broken because her pony collapsed and died on Monday and she was there at the time .She said to me ,"Grandma, I remember when you told me about the angels helping to look after us and about our spirit inside so I think Treacle will be in heaven now, cos the Angels will have taken him to play with Keira"
(Treacle was her pony and Keira was our dog)
Bless her, she then went on to add,"anyway ,my mam says I can get another pony after our holidays".............the fickleness of kids !!

Hi~~

One man's flower is another man's weed Maz.
I'd love to fill my troughs with buttercups , clovers and big daisies... hubby would have a fit !
He's always digging them out of the lawn ! and the back garden.
He likes to see the lawn cut low, where as I prefer it longer..with the clover in it. :-)
It's not Wimbledon or the Millennium Stadium for goodness sake .

Hope the rewiring of the church was successful.

I hope your babies are improving Paula, little Ava.. they catch so many viruses etc at that age .
And Lois ..hope her prob with her legs is under control.

Hi~~
Lovely one here too Maz , did have a few spots of rain earlier on and dark clouds, but quite pleasant now.

Have quite a bit of ironing to do now my both men are working full time.

I'm trying to get some pansies to go in the troughs for the from paved area, but with no success yet . Hubby planted 2 troughs but they are disappointing.
I have 3 clematis and 4 tubs of plants out there, but I like to put the troughs out also.
