hello girls, all is well here. :-) went to the dentist yesterday as have had a niggly tooth for a while plus pain in my lower jaw.Had an x ray taken and was given anti-biotics to take for a week then have to go back for another x ray.The dentist said she doesn't think I need to lose the tooth. It was filled twice when I was in my 20s and there isn't a lot of tooth left lol.
Just got a reminder my retinopathy check is due again, don't you get fed up with health problems!!!!
Big hug to you both. xxx
By the way I am missing our Ava since she started school.Trying to keep busy and talking to the dogs a lot lol.

Good morning~~~~

It's much calmer here today too.
The washing dau put was towels she'd accumulated in her bedroom they dried a treat in the wind.

Started this post at 9.15...had to rush off for a lift with dau to do shopping.

Weather doesn't look too bad today either.

Hope all is well with you folks. Haven't heard from Paula for a while , hope you're OK <3

Morning~~~

It was raining nastily earlier ,but it's dry now.......still cloudy and unsettled tho. Don't think I'll risk putting dau's washing out , tho it's sunny one min...don't know what it is going to do next.
Reports on the local news this morning that a few houses have had their roofs blow off , they would be about 15 miles from where we live.
2 separate incidents of ladies been 'blown' of their feet and taken to hosp. I was nearly 'blown' off my feet just walking down the driveway .
I haven't checked our roof cos we often get tiles off in high winds.!
The refuse bin was halfway down the garden and 2 patio chairs up ended the wrong side of the patio, hubby said he'd intended to put them away in the shed...!!!
Take care forecast is not good again for the North.

Hi ~~~

Veg picked and all prepared. My gramps grew all his own fruit and veg, but if would never had been picked or prepared on a Sunday. It was a Sat evening job.
I always think of him when I am doing it , but times change.
Maz, I try not to grizzle about my ailments cos I always think there is some one worse off than me. I wish I hadn't had this op done for my hand but it sounds as if you had no choice with yours.
I'm very pleased that it was a success for you , I expect your always looking for comfy flat shoes ( I am) I just bought a pair of black 'Ultra Comfort' loafers from As*a , recommended by another shopper, I've only had them a few days but they seem good.
Off to check the food>>>>>>>>>>

Morning ~~~

Grey here again and damp !
Doesn't help the joints at all ladies does it ? .:(
Maz , I think you of similar age to me, our Health Authority don't 'like' doing Hip ops until close on age 60. I'm glad you've had much improvement since having them done.
I have 2 neighbours older than me, who have had the op, they can both still drive but neither can walk very far and limp quite badly.
Dave is in his mid 60's and Rita early 70's.

I have to do the dreaded Sat shop now, I don't mind cooking one bit but never know what to have.
Can you do me an average weeks menu Maz..??

*$parkling $andie* Report 9 Sep 2011 11:56

Morning~~~

My 2 children , for some reason still unknown to me would not have school dinners in the junior school. Always had packed lunch which were well balanced.
Tho they did in the senior school , well they didn't have a packed lunch, they said they had school meals when they liked the menu but otherwise went to nearby shops or chippy.
Son now works for Panasonic , they have a canteen but he seldom goes.
Hubby does him a packed lunch most days and it is well balanced health-wise. Son is well toned and up on food facts, he doesn't eat anything greasy. No prob cos I never fry things and we eat mostly chicken, fish and tons of veg. Dau also does herself a packed lunch as does hubby ,so I have make sure I have rolls and fillings and plenty of fruit every day.

You said about your legs being bad, have you had hip or knee ops Maz?
I would have thought you were too young for a hip op.
First thing this morning I thought my knee and back were much better, but it didn't last for long :-(

Going to catch up on last night's Coronation St episode.

less kids have meals now as its expensive the criteria for free school meals has changed too. However obese children are an issue here and the meals are balanced but pack lunches are not so it does not have any effect

*$parkling $andie* Report 8 Sep 2011 11:45

Morning all~~

It annoys me the Gov go on about health and safety of children during their schooling , but then your council, Maz cut on back 2 important issues.
Dark mornings and evenings are fast approaching, it's going to be a danger for the children.
We have 2 school crossing patrols for the junior school, and 2 zebra crossings near that could be used, but the catchment area is wider and isn't covered by either.
Sis and I always had school dinners , tho we lived next / directly overlooking the school, (my aunt and mothers' friend were the cooks.)
Remember having to take dinner money on Mondays, the milk was free...before the Thatcher milk snatcher days:)
I don't know if they've cut back on Free school meals which could account for the reasoning of less kids having meals, resulting in less staff required to cook them.
I always had school meals in the Comp, some friends used to go to Chippy every day,tho they had Free school meal tickets..ugh
I hope something comes up for you soon work wise Maz. :)

Good morning ~~
It's not too bad here either Maz, tho the forecast is / was unsettled.
Was it your choice to reduce your hours at school?
My neighbour used to be a self employer baker,( made beautiful bread and cooked his own meat for the filings for the rolls they sold ) used to get at 3am, he's now finished and is working as a School crossing patrol man.
He's quite overweight but tho the school is fairly close he takes his car. I said to him one day about enjoying his semi retirement and he ought to be walking to school to keep fit... he's quite a characther and took no offence..
He said' I am busier now than when I was running the Bakery , I have the grandchildren to pick up from different schools, I'm here there and everywhere'.. Luckily they finish at different times and are not that far apart.
I can set my watch by him leaving for his Crossing duties .lol

*$parkling $andie* Report 6 Sep 2011 12:35

Hi ladies~~

It's been throwing it down with rain all morning , but we seem to have a bit of respite now.
Not risking putting washing out !!!!!
Dau brought the tea towels home from work yesterday ( they have a rota) she should have brought them on Friday...when they could have dried very nicely over the weekend.. but no they had to be tumble dried with such bad weather. Hubby was not too pleased.
The drier just eats the electric.
Son has a legal tax disc on his car now...phew ! Some peeps don't care but I was thinking all day...what if he gets stopped or even clamped.
Hubby , laid back say's 'Tough , that's life, his fault '...but I bet he won't ask son for the Tax fee...He's a pushover.

Take care , hope aches and pains are bearable.
My back was not too bad yesterday, but iffy today.. still going out for my walk ttho!!
