Hi Maz,

So, you ventured down souf recently. If I'd known I could have probably met up with you, though I'm not so sure of the company you keep (thread killers, I mean!). Long way to travel just for a meeting with some of your chums; was there another reason?

Brian,

Hi $andie,

So you washerwomen were wondering where the old man had got to!?
Still alive and kicking, as the saying goes!

Got the sniffles from your offspring, have you? Hope it doesn't get any worse - think I had a bout of man-flu last week, got over it in a couple of days thankfully. Very unpleasant and debilitating while it lasted.

Take care,
Brian,

Hi all~~

Lovely to see you posting Brian , after all it was your original thread., and I didn't want to see it vanish :)
And we were all wondering about you ( us washer women ..lol )

Glad to hear you and Mrs B are OK

Son came back from Uni first week with 'freshers flu' . Dau had it every year but was in halls of residence and then lived away so we didn't catch it from so much , although she came home most weekends. Son travels daily to uni so we are subjects to his 'bugs'. So we all have the sniffles!

Dau has gone to Swansea, with her Uni friends for the weekend.. with my car!!... It's like my arm/ leg has been chopped off!!! .. Missing it already! Still an extra bit of walking will do me good:)
luv to all

Brian Report 23 Oct 2009 17:49

CRIKEY!!

No wonder my ears have been glowing red hot these last coupla weeks - you've all been talking about me!!!

Nice to know I haven't been forgotten, and I do apologise for neglecting you Sandie, and Maz, and Paula, and Claire.

No real reason for keeping away. As you know I got very peed off when my site vanished without trace, not once but twice, and I kinda lost my enthusiasm.

I'm back now, for a while anyway, and will try to remember to speak with you all more regularly from now on.

Nothing much that's new to report. Me and 'er indoors are quite well except for recent colds; managed to keep that nasty swine flu at bay. How about you girls?

Most exciting(!) thing that's happened within our small family is that our 24-year old grandson, Daniel, and his girlfriend, Nicola, also aged 24, are currently driving around much of northern Europe on a 10-week tour. They bought a medium-size van and converted it into a "motorhome" type of vehicle (I call it their mobile home!). Though he'd never done anything like it before, it has to be said he's done remarkably well - in addition to the usual living/sleeping area he has installed a toilet and hot-water shower; kitchen sink; cooker. Installed windows at side and roof, etc.

They set off from Dover on the 11th October and are due back in UK, 23rd December. They have been in touch with me via their lap-top. Seem to be enjoying their nomadic lifestyle so far. They took bikes with them and have done a bit of cycling, usually from outside of a town/city into its centre. Weather has been fairly kind to them.

That's about all for now, girls, will pop along again soon I promise, meanwhile take care all of you.

Love, Brian
