ssafa have now informed me that bthey have had such an amazing response they have found it difficult to decide who they will support and saddly they have decide that this time we are mearly runners up. However they are willing to reccomend printers etc so I am going to invetigate that road. i am NOT going to GIVE UP on this wonderful thread and even if I have to pay for it I will get this printed. meanwhile please keep this going, maybe some seasonal recipes would be good at the moment,

I have a two day inspection at work from tomorrow, it is directly from the founder of the company who bought the place and she is a good friend but expects nothing short of excellent so please say a prayer for me and the staff we may need it!!

Must say that the regulators are not so thorough!

Will be back here on saturday

My daughter passed this recipe on to me. I haven't tried it yet so don't have exact quantities/ oven temps.

I block of puff pastry
mincemeat
slivered almonds
beaten egg
sugar

Roll out pastry to make an oblong shape. Spread with mincemeat and roll up the longest edge to make a 'swiss roll' shape. Cut into about 12 slices and lay on greased greaseproof paper. Brush with beaten egg; sprinkle with sugar and almonds. Bake at 180 degreees. Not sure how long; about 10 mins?

Hello Ann and Birdi,

I baked another batch of mince pies this morning, oven temperature 220 degrees celsius and baked for 12 minutes, they browned nicely. The official taster's verdict delicious!!

I didn't use almonds as we don't like them.
