I thought that Joe was the right choice to go, however I will say I thought he had improved a bit last night. Poor Zoe didn't deserve to be in the dance off, obviously she is not popular with the public for some reason.didn't think \ali was as good last night either but Natalie and Vincent looked good. Has she lost weight, she looked very elegant.

I was very against Alesha being a judge and the first week seemed to prove I was right. However, as time goes on she is finding her feet and this week the fact that she has studied the dances actually came over and she began to sound more knowledgeable. I suppose you can't spend hours learning these dances without absorbing the rights and wrongs.

Am still enjoying the show although in a somewhat 'muted' way. I agree in some ways with Deanna re: Arlene and was not looking forward to Alesha being a judge. Equally I was not convinced after the first two shows, but have to admit now that she is actually improving. I don't think her comments can ever have the knowledge calibre of Arlene's as she has nowhere near the experience, but she is not grating on me so much now.

As for the dancing, I am surprised at some of the comments made by the judges to the less able contestants. They don't seem to be consistent. They give good comments to some and detrimental ones to others - and this is when the quality of the contestants dancing has been pretty much on a par. Consequently some of the people I personally would have consiered 'dance-off' contenders are actually escaping.

All in all I think the tempo is warming up a bit although it is still obvious who will make the later rounds. It is just a question now of who will 'go' first, second, third etc. of the remainder of them.

PS I hope you are feeling better Brummie Helen.

I'm afraid I am one of the viewers who has deserted the show.
I used to adore it and would not miss it for anything other than illness..... BUT when they got rid of Arlene for a *previous winner* I had to stop watching it.
As beautiful as that young woman is, she does not have the knowledge and experience that Arlene has.
Enjoy the show everyone, I just can't.... and I don't miss it either.
Keep dancing....

I loved Jade's dress, just wish that I had the figure to carry it off!

I think that Craig would have been more upset if he was the one to leave than Linda was, also think that he will be able to make more improvement than Linda.

This was Linda's best dance, she should feel good, going out on a high. Will try to watch Loose Women on Monday to see if she is on the Show.

Jo and Joe both danced better tonight, but might be good if one of them was to leave next week.
I hope that Tuffers has made a complete recovery from his knee op. and is able to rehearse more during the week, so that he can perform better next Saturday.

Some good dancing this week, loved both Zoe and Ali and Ricky but they all seemed to have improved this week even Joe. Not sure if Linda should have gone out or not.

I saw Rav on take two this evening. He said that he was looking down atr the floor when he was voted out because he had seen his Mum in the audience crying. This was the first time she had been to the studio.

I also think that having a partner who was new to Strictly made the hill they had to climb a lot higher.

Although I wasn't interested in her at all initially, I really want to see little Jo (with Brendan) stay another couple of weeks, so that she can gain confidence and take the advice of the judges.

I still haven't got a favourite, will have to watch at least another couple of weeks till I really feel that I know who's who!

Tess

P.S. Brummie Helen I hope that you soon feel better

How sad am I ??? ..... have watched the Ricky Whittle Paso (one of my favourite dances) several times on UTube. Really good and made all the better I feel by the proper Spanish type music.

Watched last night and agree with Rav descision, nice fella but couldn't see him going very far tbh
Thought it should have been him and Joe in dance off

I love Zoe and James, think she should go all the way.and Ricky Whittle..great mover ;O)

I guessed that Jo would get the viewers votes, probably all wales voted for him, another John Sarjeant situation, I felt he should have been in the dance off, it was probably a fair decision although Linda is so wooden, maybe she will improve. I do like Ali though, lovely to watch, actually don't know some of the names to comment, will learn I suppose.

I felt sorry for Dev as he appeared so devastated. It was however, I think, a fair decision.

Anyone else got any thoughts/comments. Brummie Helen and Ann in Glos.... where are you ?

I have been watching (most of) Strictly. I have enjoyed it so far but haven't got a firm favourite yet.
I loved watching Richard Dunwoody, so so far out of his comfort zone but so eager to work hard and give his all.
He seemed so nice, no ego getting in the way and good to watch. So I was rather sorry that he left so quickly.

I have been watching (as usual) Take Two it is great fun, watching some of the contestants trying to learn the steps. Looks as if it could be a really good evenings viewing on Saturday.

Will be glued to the t.v. unless I fall asleep!

I'm still waiting for that excited 'buzz' to kick in, but as yet nothing. Perhaps things will improve now that this week we are into the competition proper. Think Ricky Whittle and Ali Bastian will do really well but am secretly cheering on Chris Hollins with his 'cheeky chappie' pleasant face. I would expect him to survive several rounds unless he finds the more complex routines too much ie the fast Latin ones. Roll on Saturday and we'll see.

Helen, did you enjoy your Paris weekend?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Sep 2009 21:27

I didn't think there was anything spectacular this week, no surprises and some of the females costumes if they get any smaller will be non existant.

Helen1959

Helen1959 Report 28 Sep 2009 20:08

Well I didn't get to see the show this week as we were held up in France on Friday night so didn't get to the B&B till 10pm and Saturday night, I was so tired I had fell asleep on the sofa by 7pm and they left me there to catch up and i didn't wake till nearly 10pm. so haven't had chance to look at the dances yet. I do know that Richard Dunwoody left though. Looking to hear your views of the show though.
