Hello everyone,
That was me deleting, in error!!
Unseasonal windy weather here, I do hope the wind blows itself lout by to-morrow as my friend and I would like to walk on the beach.
It's a good feeling when you have been to gym, U used to go ages back but then stopped, lazy I guess. I do have an exercise bike at home but must admit I don't use it much.
Glad you are feeling a bit better Tess, I hope that each day will be a little better.
Take care and have a lovely weekend.
Val.

Just popped on to say "Hi" Started to feel more cheerful again, also haven't been sick since Friday, so maybe things are looking up.
Rather a wet day today, but it was quite nice most of yesterday and all of Sunday.
I have now got a garden shed. Haven't put anything in it yet as I need to get a padlock. Also need to moan at my next door neighbour (Again) about repairing my garden fence and replacing my back gate. He had damaged fence and taken down and damaged my gate while doing his (massive) extention in his back garden. He has been quite abusive in the past, so I have to get up my courage to approach him. Will be writing a letter giving him a limited time to put all to rights, before taking action via my solicitor. This worked a little while ago, when he had started to put up his extention a few inches over my boundry. (But was very very abusive before knocking down building and rebuilding completley in his own garden.)
MOAN OVER!
I had been going to the gym earlier this year in an attempt to loose weight and increase fitness/strength. Unfortunately not well enough to go at the moment, but will try to get back some time.
Thank goodness for the internet and the ability to read (and get books free from the library). I would be lost without my windows on the world. But really enjoy surfing, and exploring from my armchair.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes, you have helped me to cheer up and count my blessings (Who's a lucky girl then?)
Going for a head and shoulder massage on Friday, so something to look forward to.
Tess

Sorry Bridget not posted on here for ages. Not on line a lot at the moment until the end of the month when we return from Tenerife. It has been really hot here until today when it has been alternately very hot with a weak sun and black skies, strong wind and a threatened storm. Earlier we had one large flash of lightening and one huge clap of thunder. However, we are enjoying the break and both have a good tan. Keth, good to see you on here and to hear that you are keeping fit at the gym. \will you continue when the free session runs out?
Tess, so sorry to see that you are not feeling well, hope that you will feel better soon.
Val, hope that your friend feels rested after her stay with you, chemo does take it out of people so I am sure it will do her good.
Bridget, enjoy your time with your OH before he goes home.

Morning ladies and Keith Well I seem to have been missing for ages. First we went to UK in August for a week in Cornwall. The weather was not very kjind to us so we did not visit old haunts but our 2 sons made the effort to come and see us which was great. Eldest son and dil came all the way from Cumbria and the youngest one came from Nottingham - on his new toy - he passed his motorbike test the day before he came down so he appeared in his new leathers and motorbike. I hate motorbijes but you cannot tell a 35 year old what to do can you ? But it was really good to see them all. We then bought my 87 year old mom back to Spain for two and a half weeks - I think she got bored as it was far too hot for me to take her out in the wheelchair and hubby was busy at work then got man flu - but hey ho we did manage to get to Altea market during her last week here. And last Friday the weather was cooler so I pushed her down town to Oliva market - luckily hubby met up with us and took us back home in the car - I can tell you I was soaking wet when I got home - looked like I had been in the shower., Anyway took mom back to Alicante on Saturday and met my sister who flew over to take her back to Cornwall. So back to normal now and trying to play catch up on housework etc. We may be going to south of France, Perpignon - if that is the way you spell it - on Thursday to meet our friends for a couple of days. I have been looking at the weather forecast and rain has been forecasted for Costa Blanca and Southern France so perhaps the trip will not happen - no fun driving in rain all that way - we will have to wait and see. Well I had better make a start on the pile of ironing Take care all Love Mary xx

Keith how delightful to see you join our group. What have you been unto this summer? So that is where the sun is...in Liverpool, now what has Liverpool got that the southeast hasn't got.... We coiled do with some sustained sunshine rather than an hour or so now and again.
I wonder if anyone else will join us or have they mostly deserted us.??
I am looking forward to next week when I shall have some time off with OH before he returns home....not sure that we will be doing anything particularly exciting but some quality time together will be a real delight.
Val I hope your friend enjoys her Lemon Curd it is years since I made it, somehow I always feel it isn!t worth making jams etc for just one person. Keith how is your health these days I seem to recall that you had been unwell?
Must go now

It is nice to see you on here Keith, hope you are keeping well..
It's been quite cold here to-day and also the wind ism unpleasant.
It's been a quiet day on the whole, my friend across the way mentioned yesterday that she felt like some lemon curd, so I made some for her this morning. She has been having chemotherapy and not eating very well as the treatment made her feel ill. She will most likely be having radiotherapy in a month or so.
My friends from East London (SA) will be visiting for a couple of days at the end of the week. She has also just finished a course of chemotherapy and is coming to relax in JBay.
Hope to-day has been a better day for, you Tess, you have been in my thoughts.
That's all for now.
Take care.
Val.

Well val it looks as is we are the only two posting at the moment I guess that everyone else is busy doing other things. Today the sun is shining although it is rather chilly. We are not doing anything special today, there is a lot of sports programmes today football, cricket, tennis etc and OH is a real fanatic...He even gets up in the night if cricket is live from Australia or South Africa. I have to admit that having five sons and only one daughter I have learnt quite a lot about sports and even my daughter is an excellent tennis player and has just learnt that she is pretty good at Golf.....it certainly isn't from my genes.
The most exercise I get is gardening and playing Bejewelled!
Tess, we hope you are feeling a little better now, why not come and join us anyway...we do not mind even if you want to have a moan. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hope things are better for you to-day Tess.
Bridget our garden at the front of the house is about 2 metres wide and about 35 metres long along the wooden fence, we have some honeysuckle which are kept pruned and then shrubs and flowers and then the lawn. The weeds grow at a rate of knots they don't mind the dry conditions. At the back we have lawn and citrus trees, but here too the weeds take over, next to the trees I have a patch where I had planted some vegies but all that's there now - more weeds. I am great at giving the orders for the garden - plant this there, take that out etc etc.! Our neighbours are all elderly and there are not any school children nearby who might like to earn some pocket money.
To-day was quite cold and we had a little drizzle this afternoon, it was more like winter than spring!
It's nice that you have been able to sort out matters about going home, must be a weight off your mind.
Take care.
Val.

Val, I also play Bejewelled and it is both fun and addictive so I also have no will power!
Tess, I do hope that you are feeling better, do let us all know even if it is only a line or two.
Now my news. I had a long talk with my boss this week and it went very well, at last he has accepted that I am returning home early next year, end of January or February. So now not only do I know that he understands but also he knows that I mean it......yippee. We have agreed that staff will not be informed until December, and the residents and their families will be told at the same time. I have offered to assist the new manager in the induction process and to visit for a few days for the first month or two to help her through the minefield of paperwork. The person can also have my telephone number, just in case, so all in all I trust it will go smoothly.
As I sit here at the side of my window the weather looks grey, damp and makes the surrounding trees and houses look very miserable. Even the seagulls are not on the roof tops this morning....so I wonder what do they know that I do not...more rain on its' way I suspect. It is also quite cold , certainly cold enough to have to put the central heating on. The wet summer has certainly helped all the trees to stay green this year and the variety of shades of green from almost yellow to dark solemn green is quite striking. last night when we came back home for a coule of hours out as we drove down the winding drive to the building we live in we saw two badgers running along and as the car came nearer the ran into the bushes,,it was a beautiful sight for just the few moment that we saw them.
Val I do hope you manage to find a gardener soon whom you can trust. Is your garden very large, it must be soul destroying to see your garden suffering from the lack of water, are there any friends or neighbours who could help until the new gardener is found?
Well everyone
Take care and I look forward to hearing from you all very soon.
Bridget from cloudy grey, east Sussex.

Good morning,
Tess I am sorry you are not well at the moment, hope you feel better soon, take care.
Bridget, don't feel alone, you wouldn't believe how often I hit the wrong button when using the computer, it is such a hopeless feeling when everything disappears before your eyes!!
Things here are quiet. Weatherwise it is a cloudy day but still no rain and our garden is really looking very sad. I would love to put in some bright plants but I am afraid I simply cannot carry buckets of water which is the only way we are allowed to water the garden.
I am still wasting time time playing Bejewelled, no will power!!
Bye
Val.

Where are you all???? I do hope that everyone is keeping well.
I managed to get home today by 17.30hrs which is I think a record for me...so i really am trying to keep to my own decisions.
Tomorrow I am going to write about the topic that I wrote 3 times, yes 3 times yesterday and then managed to press the delete button instead of the submit button!!!!
May I be allowed to claim it as "It must be my age"

it's a dull sort of day here and a bit windy at the moment, however I think it is going to clear later and be quite warm.
Good to hear that you are feeling better Bridget, strange how just one person can upset the apple cart!! I didn't realise that you were only finishing your job next year I thought you would be leaving before Christmas.
Talking of ice-cream, I don't eat a lot of it, but my favourite is also caramel. We get something here called a caramel crunch, it is an ice-cream on a stick and is covered in this lovely crunchy caramel, simply delicious! We lived in East London (SA) in the 1960s and 70s and there was (and still is to-day) a place called the Friesland Dairy which made their own ice-cream, quite the nicest I have tasted, they are also well known for their milkshakes.
We haven't found a replacement gardener yet, I need someone reliable and trustworthy and they are rather scarce.
Our friends from the UK who usually come over in October/November every year will not be coming this year as finances do not allow and we are really going to miss them.
We shall be spending a quiet weekend, hope you all have a good weekend.
Val.

Good morning everyone and I hope thatbyou all have a splendid day.
I cannot tell you what sort of day we shall have here in the Hastings part of the UK as it is still rather dark, but I cannot hearbrai or high winds, the birds are clearly talking to each other and the general feeling is that of peace and tranquility.
Today I woke feeling somewhat better than of late, I felt calm again so hopefully my difficult couple of weeks will be coming to an end. Must stress that the difficulty is only caused by a resident where I am working.
On Monday I shall put into writing my intention to leave on the last day of February 2011! This time I will not be deterred, I have offered to work over Christmas and return home for New Year for about 10 days. I have also requested the week off before OH returns to Spain.
Looking forward to new written pieces from you all, hope you enjoyed my Icecream tale.
Well of to have a cup of tea before the day gets going, enjoy your days and take care.
I am also going to have my 10 minutes of quiet time.
Bye
Bridget
