Remember the happy times and think what you could do to take on another cat and love him/her.

Gerard - I sympathise with you on the loss of your loved pets - all so closely to each other. Nothing can replace them and the loving memories you will always have of them. However, I would advise you to get another one (or more) because you not only have the loneliness without them, you will also be finding it difficult to cope at times like their feeding times - and also when you are shopping and no longer have to buy their food, etc. All of these things hurt when you are missing what you love. If you get another, as I said, it will not replace any of them, but it will occupy you both and you will still need to do the other things like shopping, etc.and it will help with the transition period of letting go and moving on with the new one/s.

G is for Gerard and for George - the two names given to me at my christening. Gerard after my Aunt Mary's new husband and George after my Uncle George who had been killed in World War II.

The Saint's day for both is April 23rd - which is of course William Shakespeare's birth and death day.

On a less happy note, unfortunately, we have lost our third cat this month today at 9am - Pav had a good innings being 22+, but OH is devastated and I am pretty cut up myself :-(

Hello to you all

"Fs'

Fun. This word often pops into my mind and I recall all the FUN I hade as a child. I dare say that today would be very different.
Each year not to far from where we lived in the East End of London there would be a lot of Fun at the Circus in the local park. I wanted to become the lady who was on the Elephant and did all sorts of things such as standing on the back of the Elephant, making the Elephant sit, sleep and stand on his back legs.

Friday. In our house this was a very important day....dad was paid! Mum would walk from Mile End Road to Stratford and get the money form my dad. Then when I arrived home from school we would go shopping or if it was to late we would be up and ready to go out on Saturday when mum got home from working as a cleaner in the City of London. Sometimes we went on the bus but if we were going near to home such as Bow Road we would walk there and back. Friday meant that we could not eat meat so it was special as we would have Fish and Chips with gherkins and Lemonade....I can picture it even now.
We always had some sweets for the evening and my favourite was and still is Fudge.

Friend.
My best friend is my younger sister who lives in Bath but I do not see her very often so have other friends. My closest friend is in Norfolk and met her when I was still working in Attleborough. It is an unexpected friendship because we do not have a lot in common but we just knew from the first week I stayed in her home that we would always get together...in fact she and her husband will visit us in June to be here for my birthday!

Fudge. If you want me to be happy please give me good Fudge to eat, preferably home made......it is the truly wonderful and sometimes I put pieces of nuts in it when I make it.....problem with that is....I eat it all too quickly.
I do NOT like people who FUDGE issues because in the end issues have to be resolved.

Well now I will finish and what to see what others write.

I am so sorry about your cats, that is sad.

F is for Fat - when I was younger I weighed in at 23 and a half stone, but I was always around eighteen or nineteen stone until I had a minor stroke in 1985. I was advised to stop smoking, turn vegetarian and lose weight. I did the first two quite easily but the third not so. So I joined Weightwatchers. I went every Thursday evening to the local Scout Centre and in eight months lost 5 stone 9 1/2 lbs. Then six months later I started doing meetings of my own for Weightwatchers and continued for a further 22 years, until they retired me.

A is for apology for not being on here, unfortunately this month we have lost two of our beloved cats, Fluffy died on 1st April and Sheba five days later and our eldest Pav (who is 22+) is now a bit poorly too, OH is devastated.

I am glad to see some new names on here - well done - should be back soon

Yes I remember Drene shampoo.
E is for Evening and I am looking forward to my evening meal, only a fry up but not cooked by me, it is OH's signature dish Lol!!

So, E is also for eat and edible. You can see I am hungry!!

E is for expensive, most things are getting more expensive. Especially Electricity.

I think that is the Es done with.

Oh. I do now recall the Drene Shampoo.....isn't it strange how one remembers!

F is going to make me think, perhaps Fun, Fudge and Friend, I will think about but we go out at about 19.30hrs as OH will be his usual Quiz Master.

We had a couple come with the agents to view our house.....agents very embarrassed as the couple came down the stairs to our home and then decided that they did not need to look as it was not for them. Now given that the agents have about 8 or 9 photos in the packs given I thought that was rather strange. I felt sorry for the agents as the couple have done this 4 times now!

High winds, torrential rain and cold weather is not in the UK it is here and is forecaste to stay for a while.....

been busy (again).

The only D's I could come up with (for quite a while) were Dull and Dreary, so decided to give it a pass.
Then suddenly, I remembered DRENE the shampoo my mum used to get in the 1950's when I was a child.

Does anyone else remember this shampoo?

Still going to my exercise sessions each Tuesday.

The sessions (and the trainers) alternate - one week it is Tai Chi and the following week it is EXTEND. This is the only "E" I have been able to come up with so far.

it is all good fun, we do marching (on the spot,) as well as boxing, into thin air (which gets rid of any pent up aggression we may have), as well as singing laughing and generally having a good time.

Two of my grandsons were here last weekend. They are going to gymnastic sessions close to the Birchfield Harriers traing ground.
Had a good time watching them do all the hard work.

Family lunch today at a local pub-restaurant, it is my baby brothers 56th birthday.

Thursday today, he was born on a Thursday too.

The only down side, was that I didn't have room for a pudding.!!! :-(

The grandsons will be back tomorrow evening, so I must tidy their bedroom and sort out the curtains.
But not before a have a strong cup of coffee.

1. Exercise! I have never been good at Exercising but now I have to because of my dogs and to get from the road down to my house and then back up when I want to go out.

2. Eat, Drink & be Merry......I do try to do this, do you?

3. Easter. In many places Egg Rolling is an important tradition and usually takes place on Easter Monday. Egg Rolling in Germany was very common where the Pagan Fertility goddes Eostre originated and was introduced to America along wth The Easter Bunny.
From a christian view links are made when rolling eggs down a hill to the rolling away of the stone from the Tomb of Christ.

For most of us it is a jolly good reason to have some fun and to eat Chocolate, i used to boil eggs until they were well cooked and then paint them and hide them in the garden so they had to hunt for them...lovely memories.

Well that is all at the moment, hope that evryone is will and hopfully have some time to add on here, not necessarly about anything in particular.

C is for Camara! The Box Brownie my mum (and a lot of other people) had when I was growing up.

The film only took eight photos. The camera was held at chest height close to the body. Two different view finders, depending if you wanted portrait or landscape.
When taking group portrait the people always seemed to far away in the distance.

C is for Cinema! Sometimes as a child I would go to the childrens saturday mattinee. Loads of children and very few (if any ) adults. There was usually part of a serail, as well as the main film, trailers and other esciting stuff.

C is for Chimneys and Coal.
The sky line and the air quality was so different when we had coal fires. As well as the smoking chimneys of industry.
There was always the possibilty of a chimney fire and the excitement of the fire engines. All part of out outside play.

Thinking about the non-religious part of Christmas (if there is such a thing ), -

C is for Christmas Crackers.- a tradition in my family.
The funny hats, the unfunny jokes and the surprise gift, plus the anticipation - Will the cracker go off with a BANG! ?

C is for Carnival - The Caribbean Carnival with wends its way past my house once every two years.
Music, Dancing and Colour and great fun.

When I was at junior School, - C was for "There is no such word as Can't"
Which used to annoy me no end when said by the teachers. Especially as we were not allowed to argue back.

A family memory is by brother saying "Can I have a cup of coffee?" but as he couldn't pronounce his C's it came out as "Tan I have a tup of toffee?"


Perhaps the best of all ----

C is for COUSINS! :-) I always had a lot of magical cousins, but since "doing my tree" I have found (and sometimes met) so many more! :-D

Hello to you all. At last the sun is shining and the temp is 19 so quite pleasant.
Susan, hope all goes well on your journey and that you have a good day, i am looking forward to reading all about it.
Not a lot happening in my family today nor are we expecting any visitors, main meal which we tend to eat at about 16.00h cooking nicely and the aroma is quite enticing. we have a snack in the evening and this way we have both lost some weight.....could do with loosing more!!!

The wedding party was stunning the brides dress must have cost a great deal of money, it was not overdone but fitted like a glove and the flowers were beautifully arranged. there must have been around 300 people including the children.
We were the only UK people who were invited as soon as the church marriage had been completed. At around 9pm another English Couple we know came and joined us...we arrived home at about 11pm.

My husband Peter decided today that he was no longer going to have a mobile phone. We have been having quite a time with the m phone and the last thing was a cost of 80euros!!! for a month......I have not had a mobile for two years and it is a great relief, we use Skype a lot and this is a much more pleseant way to communicate. I wonder what other people think about this. We do have a very god main telephone and it is not expensive for using in Europe including UK.

susan busy busy, sometimes your life sounds exhausting. pity you didn't have a video of Henry, he obviously was not in the mood to perform. :-D

They say that if you bury a statue of St Joseph upside down at the threshold of your house you will either get a sale or move within a few weeks....worth a try.

Well...what can I say about yesterday.....gale force winds blowing everything and everybody about.

I helped out as part of the ring party and met even more people :-D

None of the dogs seemed to do as well as expected but My Henry took the biscuit on his second comp.....he got to the top of the A frame and decided to have a sniff and a look around.....not content with that when he decided to go on he walked off the walk way.....I think we would have gone quicker if I had picked him up and ran with him......He did however get 3 clear rounds....

While there I got his brother measured so he will be able to start competing the next time, now that he is old enough....He is much faster :-D

I can't wait for the little one to join in...another 6 months to go.....she is going to be a little cracker.

When we got home I was so tired that I went straight to bed....unfortunately I woke up in the wee hours.....am now off to finish gutting the garden.
