Greenfingers, the names do not immediately spring to mind but I will check in the next few days. Thanks also for adding your wish list, I am trying hard to find subjects that most people would find interesting to discuss or to write about. Any ideas would Be welcome.!
Fords from Wiltshire original but one went toNorwich and was with the Norwich Union. I have wondered if they, Norwich Union, would have records? What do you think?
I wonder if anyone is near to Norwich who could find out for me??
Well not much in thevway of news but will look in again later this evening.

In Norfolk it is Dent Howard and Minister, in Pontypool Goodall, in Preston Lancs Park, so are any of these a match Bridget ?
My wish list
For my daughter to be as happy with her hubby as I have been To visit New Zealand To continue to have good times with friends and family To see people of all denominations, colours and religions realise that underneath it all we just want to be happy, and money doesn't come into it, had none, had some and it makes no differnence if you are unhappy with your lot. To lose all the weight I have put on since I have been unable to exercise It took me years to get it off, and a few months to put it back on again.! To meet George Clooney or Paul McCartney ! to find out what makes them tick !
Ive probably got more but thats enough for now !!!!!!!!!!
Love everybody

JAN. you could do both The list of things you have done and the list of things you wish you had done. If you do this I will add the list of things I have done. I have people who lived in Pontypool, Norfolk and Wiltshire I wonder if we have the sam places in the these areas?//
You must be so excited about the wedding now, only 10 days away...goodness where does the time go??? I am sure that you will make a beautiful arrangement of flowers for the cake, looking forward to hearing all about it.
Berona, looking forward to seeing some recipies from you. I have 4 or 5 to add which a friend has given me, must try to do so tomorrow. I am not sure who the money was intended for but people here did try to explain to him that these are scams but "you can only take the water to someone you cannot make them drink it." is so very true.
Will try to be back later so bye for now.

Thank you, Bridget. I found the thread and marked it to be 'watched'. I will enjoy reading it - anything to do with cooking - and will add to it if I can.
I hope the man you know of didn't contribute to the cost of the operation on the little girl - whose daddy wrote to us and said she would die without the op. That 'little girl' would have to be in her forties now and he is still sending out the same pathetic letter!

Berona, thanks for asking about the culinary thread it is called Cullinary Delights. I hope that you enjoy reading it and also adding to it. I never imagined for o e moment that it would be so successful, but jolly pleased it is as I have cooked so many new recipies. Today the weather is sunny, with a light wind, the earth and plants smell fresh and pleasant after the storm. However the pool will need a clean as it has so much dust and leaves etc in it. Fortunately OH enjoys this as part of his relaxation each morning! The sy is a lovely clear blue, with just the occasional little White clouds. The temp is likely to be lower today, around 28 dergees but tomorrow it is forecast to be in the 30s again.
I used to get those stupid emails as wellL, but touch wood I have not received them for some time. However one English man we know as an acquaintance was caught out not once, not twice but THREE times. Everyone tried to tell him it is a scam but all he kept saying was " there but for the grace of God go I " well to be honest I am sure that God is not involved in this scam. As a result this person is now not able to have the life style he expected,no longer can afford a car so has a cycle instead, cannot have the holidays etcetra that he was looking forward etc.
The Lottery HMHM OK I will own up it .....was... NOT ME, maybe it will be a relative.....Mmmmm I do not think so. IF it is one person what a change it will be for them even if they are already comfortable, I hope that it makes life easier and enjoyable. Does anyonevrecall the lady who famously said she was going to shop shop shop or words to that effect.....she ended up having a very side time . Well I guess that is all for now So will say bye bye, be kind to yourself and others, relax whenever you can, and tell yourself at least once a day how nice you all are.

Good afternoon from where I am in Oz. 2pm here (5am UK). Lovely and sunny and about 16 degrees, but no wind to-day, so the sun feels nice. Doesn't last long at this time of year, though and we have had temps of 6 and as low as 2 overnight for the past week. I can't complain though, it's not raining.
Valerie - I'm jealous! When I received a letter from Nigeria, I was only asked to accept $8,000. They would tell me where to transfer $5,000 of it after I received it and I could keep the rest for my trouble ($3,000). All I had to do, was give them my bank details.!!! Yeah, right! Only recently, my Bulgarian friend emailed me from Heathrow, asking for $5650 to pay excess baggage on her 'samples'. The hacker/s had read her emails and knew that she had a business - also that she wrote in 'broken' English. What they didn't know, was that she lives alone, and that I could hear the sound in the water pipes enough to know that she was running her shower! She's my next door neighbour! They also wrote to one of her customers stating that she 'forgot' to charge him insurance on the goods he had bought from her.Fotunately, he too, was suspicious and contacted her. I wonder how much they make out of their hacking? Surely, if people are silly enough to fall for the stories and actually send money or details - they should not be let loose on the internet! How do we prevent it though?
Bridget - I have been meaning to look at your culinary thread but haven't found it. What is the name of the heading? I'll put it in my 'watched threads'.

A quick visit. No, I am not the one who won all those Millions.
Just think, they could give away one milliom to a hundred peole and still be able to live (in luxury) off the interest on the money they have left.
Bridget, my sister does Ti Chi, which she enjoys. I used to do yoga, till the teacher was forced to retire because of her age.
It is great to get a bargain, especailly when it was something that you had been looking for.
I like watching thunder storms, and love the clear cool air you can get after a srorm.
Sorry Ann 131 books wow, they will take a long time to read, but it will be fun.
Goodnight to everyone,
Tess

Mary, how good to hear from you. How long is it now until you go to the UK, and how long will you be away? We think that the new Chino shop which is being developed just a couple of minutes from th bottom of our hill is going to be the same type of Chino, so keeping our fingers crossed.
It is quite windy here today which is a relief, friends have been here for their daily swim, and the husband is teaching me Ti Chi, I think that is how it is spent. It is certainly very relaxing. Does anyone else do this.?
Todaybwe are having steak pies with fresh veg for our main meal. I did not make the pies, but we have bought the brand before and they were fine. OH said I am to have a day off from cooking so he is going to cook the meal, he is quiteca good cook as it happens.
I have been adding quite a lot of new recipies on the Culinary thread, not sure if anyone on here has visited it.
Trusting that those who have been unwell are improving, those who have visitors are not too exhausted and that everyone is enjoying life.
Bye for now

Good afternoon ladies Well I agree with you Bridget yesterday was so humid but we did not have the thunderstorm. Could see some lightening in the distance but nothing came here. Today there is a welcome breeze so it makes life more pleasant. Monday I went to Denia market and the heat completely finished me off. Managed to buy a couple of pairs of cropped trousers and a large tote bag ready for my hols in UK. We have loads of Chinese bazaar shops around here and they are like Alandin's cave and I love having a look around them and usually manage to find something or other to buy so cheap it makes you wonder how they all make a living. On Monday we wwent to a DIY place only to find it had shut down - such a shame so many shops are closing. Well hubby will be home for lunch soon so I had better get myself sorted then afterwards we are off to do the weekly shop. Take care all Love Mary xx

Good morning from sunny Spain. Last night we finally had the thunderstorm which we needed to clear the the oppressive heat and the humidity. We were having supper with the people next door when it started and I am pleased to say that Jet & Joe were rather well behaved. They did bark but not for long and we had left the door to the house open for them...we could see our house from the balcony where we had our meal, so it was safe to do so.
This morning the air is fresh, there is a slight breeze, the sun is shining, and I can hear someone mowing their lawn, so all in all it is a pleasant day.
Because it was so oppressive yesterday we went shopping and on the way we saw directions to a newly opened stir run by Chinese. We did not intend to buy anything but 81euros went flying from my purse. We were somewhat taken aback on the prices. For example they sell the same brand of paper, plastic folders eta as we use and it was one third of what we normally pay. When we left we had bought new leads and collars for J&J. Clothes horse, cushions which I have been searching for, kitchen eqipment, ie chopping boards, plastic covered table clothes for both tables in the garden, bits and pieces that OH had wanted for some time.......we will be going back !
However we continued to the supermarket and bought the esentials and then came home.
Well OH back now so I had better make him a coffee.
Val, we used to get lots of these Begging letters and always either threw them away or if on the comp deleted them immediately? They are such a nuisance.
Ann, 120 books to read, my goodness you must be helping the revenue for lots of writers, how do you log these books? I must say it is good to be able to download my books but there is nothing to match holding a new book and opening the first page. Theresa, have you looked to see if you are the lucky winner of the lottery and if so please can you arrange for us all to meet up....wouldn't that be wonderful....I wonder who the lucky person is???
Bye bye for now,

A beautiful sunrise this morning, pink sky calm sea, a nice day ahead I think.
This must be my week for scams. Had an email from a Nigerian man, in very poor English I might add, ofvfering to transfer $50,500,000..00 into my account for a business venture, well he is definitely out of luck as I am not falling for that. One would think that these people would get trying of trying.
I must get the spare room ready for my visitors who will be arriving on Friday afternoon, looking forward to walks on the beach over the weekend.
Amazing lady, your aunt, Tess still living in her own home.
Hope those who have not been feeling great will feel better soon.
Have a lovely day.

I was a (small) size ten when I got married in 1970! So fitting into my wedding dress again is a fantasy, especially as I have put on a stone in recent weeks! (Must be at least a size 18 now).
My eldest grandchild is only 15, so I am hoping that he is in no hurry to make me a great-grandmother. I remember Ann when you had 31 unread books in your house. Did you ever manage to reduce that number or has it increased?
During my last job, I worked with many Urdu speaking families, but couldn't speak Urdu myself. In fact the only language I can speak (at all) is English. Apart from a smattering of Malay (most of which I have now forgotten). Wouild love to think that if I was able to travel to other parts of the world I would be able to understand additional languages.
Have an aunty of 101, she lives in her own home. I would love to be able to buy a custom built reclining chair for her. Not that she sits down much, she is a very busy lady!
Val, part of my trouble in doing crosswaors is my difficulty with spelling correctly. I do like to do Sudoku (just as well I don't need to spell it properly in order to do it!)
I suppose that walking quite long distances, and or over rather rough terrain is something that I would love to do again. At the moment I haven't quite accepted that it won't happen. (Someday).
By the way, if I will the lottery, I shall buy loads of BMD certs. As well as getting the chair for my aunty and treating the family to what they need.

It is a beautiful day here to-day, not at all like winter.
Oh Tess, I loved "Fit into my wedding dress", if only! I must admit that being fluent in another laguage, for me isiXhosa, the language of the indigenous people of the Eastern Cape, would be a good thing. I would love to be able to understand them, as it is I only know a few words.
I must admit defeat with one of the crosswords yesterday, couldn't finish it. I love any word puzzles, but am useless at Soduku (?spelling). I only get the Sunday Paper and the only reason I get it is for the puzzles, there truly is nothing to read in it!
At 5.00 a.m. this morning I received an SMS telling me I had won R450,000 in the Vodacom "Woldewide Competition" (you would think they would at least get the spelling correct), and gave the name and telephone number of a Dr. someone (I forget the name) and I should phone him. If only it was true! But unfortunately it is just another scam. I will just carry on buying a Lotto ticket each week - not that I have had any luck with that!
Enjoy what is left of th day ladies.
Val.

"My Things"
Be with my mother as she was dying.
Visit New Zealand (the land of my spirit)
Become fluent in another language.
Play a musical instrument well.
Give all my family more emotional and financial help.
Fit into my wedding dress. (Ha, Ha, Ha)
Was rather busy at the end of last week. Met two school friends in town, for lunch (at a Chinese Buffett Restaurant) and then went to see "We Will Rock You"
Had a mammogram the following day (my free check up done every three years). Then went into town to collect requested book from library. Then a visit to top floor to do some research.
All worthwhile but rather tiring.
Val, I hope that you completed your crosswaors ok. I sometimes try but am not very good. TTend not to get newspapers either, so less chances of finding any to do.

Hello Val & Tess, it was a good surprise to see you both on here. I expect that you have been very busy.
Val Thais for telling us your "things you wool like yo do and never will".
Tess how about adding your Things etc.?
It has bern considerably cooler today and we may even have some rain tomorrow but it is still very warm now it is 29 degrees so very pleasant when there is a breeze as well.
Yesterday I made some chicken soup. I bought a free range large chicken and we had the legs for our main meal on Friday, then yesterday we had the breast for lunch with lots of salad, new potatoes, a variety of dips, with home made savoury biscuits, and tiny cubes of bread. I hardly ever throw away bread, instead I cut it into cubes, quickly pan fry it let them cool and then freeze, I also had some home made cheese sticks. For desert we had Icecream, which is a well known brand and absolutely deliscious.
Not to much wine as it was so hot, but lots of cold water with lemon slices from the tree. Today we were going to have Liver and Bacon, we do not always have traditional English lunches, but neither of us were particularly hungry so will have that tomorrow instead. We nibbled rather than lunched, then I made two more cakes which are cooling now, and tonight we will have something light.
My eldest son is off to India on a tuk tuk which is a very strange form of motorbike. He has decided not to celebrate his birthday here he is going to help dig wells for villages which do not have clean water. He has investigated this very carefully and checked everything including the registration of the company who organises these events, it is a registered charity. Now he is trying to persuade as many people as possible to give some small donations to the organisation which will be then shared with my son and the others going with him. So far the have reached 75% of what is needed so it looks as if he will make it, although any extra would of course also be very useful for them all. I shall miss him, we have been together on all of his birthdays, but he is a very determined person and is always helping out some one or something....he tells me that I caused this by sending him to a Jesuit School?!
I wonder if that is right? Oooom.
Well that is all for now, have a good evening and I will be back on here sometime tomorrow.
