Just a quick visit today as I want to complete some more folders. I am definitely still improving re my memory as this morning I got up, did all the normal chores required and sat in front of the Computer and found all the documents I wanted and the Genealogy Reports I did twp or three tears ago.Feel so delighted at this big step forward.
So off in a few moment to make up some more files....OH is busy watching sport programmes , having cleaned the pool and all;round the outside of the house following the high winds. Quiz night to night all questions are related to Christmas.
Jan congrats on winning two raffles, maybe something really big is waiting for you in the next raffle, everything happens in threes!!

Bye for now, well until tomorrow really. Enjoy you day everyone

Afternoon all

A miserable, wet, dark day here in Norfolk...so decided to put up decorations, don't put up as many as I used to...and no tinsel....fed up with still picking bits out of the carpet in July .!!! Apart from that had W.I.party yesterday, a very nice happy occasion, we all took some food, and there seemed to be enough for the 5000 !! It was also the second time this week that I have won a draw prize...totally unheard of in this household, its always other people on other tables when we go out that win a prize...Know what I mean ?

Keeping warm now sitting by the fire

Have a lovely weeked

Regards Jan

My OH and I have gone mad! We have lights around the mirror which is quite large, cards form each other on the mantle along with two beautiful trees in small pots with greenery all around the pots, two penguins in father Christmas dress hugging each other. More lights aroun the wall clock which all the keys etc are kept I'm about 39 inches long. In the small corner is a four foot artificial tree with lights and other items which are years old and much loved.
And at first we thought we would not do anything!

I have put the marzipan on the tree, not to much, sprinkled icing sugar over it and a very old Father Christmas with sledges, trees etc...all this for only two of us! Such fun though.

OH watching the darts on TV, I have put all contacts in my lovely new address book, given to me by one of the ladies I cared for when last working. So have been able to thow away the the three other address books.

Going to bed soon so will say good night

We have had our decorations up a few days now Bridget, did it a bit at a time and it is finally all finished. Not very Christmassy weather here at the moment, lashing with rain and blowing a hooley, thank goodness we got the grocery shop done this morning while it was dry.

Good morning everyone or is it good afternoon!

Thank you for your kind comments re my down slide but I am now at the top of the slide and feeling good again. My dear husband has been a help even though I was not very nice to him at the bad time.

My confidence in real life is not as good as I sometimes suggest, started when very young cause known but not for on here. Well that is enough about that!

The sun is shining and we have just finished Autumn cleaning throughout the main part of our home. Not so much to do downstairs. Jet and Joe have some of the blame because their hair has grown quite a lot and you will know what that means...however it is too cold to get it cut....

Is it too early to put up Christmas decorations? We do not have a great deal as it is only the two of us, not the same without the children. We are having four friends for the day on boxing day and a party on New Years Eve.

Bridget, pleased that the cloud lifted and you are feeling better. I put everything down to hormones even now I am in my 70s, it is good to have something to blame anyway.

Gerard, it sounds as if you are going to enjoy Christmas this year.

Greenfingers Report 13 Dec 2011 17:49

Well the power of positive thoughts has obviously helped Bridget, lets hope we all have a good time leading up to Christmas and beyond.

Went to a lunch today...our Benefice hosts a luncheon club once a month and it brings a lot of solitary people together..we were asked to go so that my oH could play the organ for carols, so ate my first Turkey of the year !!!

It was colder in the village that we visited for the lunch, than where we live which is nearer the sea....it is still full of wrap up here and windy...lots of BRRRRRRRRRR

Thank you everyone for your kind understanding re my recent entries.
Yesterday afternoon I suddenly started to feel better. I have tried to think what triggered the sudden change but cannot put a finger on it. Maybe it was the kind messages and thoughts that you were all adding, maybe it was something in the ether?

Today I woke and felt back to normal, and it showed all was well. We have been out to the local co operative to try the Veg and Fruit. We were amazed by the low-cost and if every thing is as tasty as we have been told we will return.

Everything in place for Christmas except for the tree and some decorations.
All the Christmas Cards have been written and posted or delivered.

Well that is all for now. I hope hat all of you who are living in the UK are not feeling the very cold weather we heard about on the TV this morning.

It seems ages since I piped up on here

Beautiful but crisp morning in London - although it has been pretty windy and wet during the night, we are promised more bad stuff later and some snow, but London escapes a lot of the worst stuff.

OH has persuaded me to have Christmas PROPERLY this year. We have a brand new tree some love decorations and even made our own Christmas cake (which OH is enjoying feeding [too often]). Two stocking which are already getting full of presents - just some food items remain to be purchased (hopefully mince pies) - being vegetarian we don't have a turkey, but have intentions on a nut roast with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings!!

We don't do cards at Christmas - although it is a bit ironic that one of OH's hobbies is making home-made cards!!! I forgot, we even have some fancy crackers haven't had those at home since I was about ten years old.

Better news about the twins - thank goodness - and I hope everyone is keeping well

Bridget - I can understand how you feel - just get back to your normal self as soon as you can - I am praying for you and everyone else in the best possible way.

Candles and prayers where required
Back on here again soon

Oh Bridget....doesn't Christmas and another New Year get us all like this...we remember times past and people who are no longer with us and melancholy sets in... we are all sending positive thoughts your way.

I was going to post this on sayings but maybe it will help

Lord, behold our family here assembled
Give us peace, gaiety and the quiet mind
Give us strength to encounter that which is to come;
that we may be brave in peril,
Constant in all changes of fortune
And that down to the gates of death
we may be loyal and love one another.

Love Jan

Bridget - I think we all have those times. It's a good time to think of others who are worse off than we are and we then appreciate our own situation.

Sounds like there is utter contentment at your place with music and sleeping dogs - and there are lots of people who would not be able to be contented with that because of their circumstances. .. You'll get over it and wonder why you felt like this - don't worry about it - it's a passing phase - quite normal.

Bridget, here is hoping that you will bounce back up again tomorrow, I am sure that your OH understands the problem and is not really upset. We are all here when you want to talk and you know there is the anxiety and depressions thread where people will empathise with you.

Sending you a special ((((((hug)))))) :-) <3 <3

Thank you everyone for all your interesting entries. Hope that all your wishes come true.
I have been feeling very low today but no real reason to do so.
I have upset OH, myself and some friends....I wish that I did not feel this wY from time to time. I try so hard to keep this demon at arms length but he visits most unexpectedly......I have learnt not to listen to deeply but ....
Please stay positive with me, I will not do anything which could hurt others but feel as if I am in the. Debth of loneliness aven though this is not true....
Hope that makes sence.
Oh is playing music, the tv is showing the news and jet and Joe are asleep
