Good morning everyone. Well I didn't think I would be up this early. We had a splendid day yesterday and although the morning was rather grey the sun came through just in time for our BBQ. We had 14 here in total and everyone brought something with them. We all went into the pool as it was sooo hot and I won't say we frolicked but we did our best for people all over retirememnt age apart from son and girlfriend!! It is coming up for 02.30 and it is still very warm, and dark skies. Is it a full moon tonight for it sure looks like it from my garden. There is one light not far from the moon , I have not called it a star because I cannot see any others...does anyone know what it is? I am thinking that maybe it is a space station.
King Keith what are your thoughts today, still thinking about that book for the future. I wonder do you keep a diary, doesn't have to have an entry everyday...
Mummo, I hope that you and your mum got to the cemetry ok and had your quiet moments with your dad.
Catch the Cat...If you are ever passing this way you could always stop by....
What made you decide on Calpe?
I had some sad news today a colleagues mother died just as she was about to leave home with my friend to go from Wales to Essex for a very special party so I have added her to my 10 minutes of what I now call contemplation when I think of all those who are having sad or difficult moments and also those who have come through them... Now I am most definetly not a saint or anywhere near that status but I do find that there is a great benefit in this short special time.
I will be around for a little while and then I am going to try to get some sleep...Bye for now and good thoughts to all of you
Bridget

No further down near Calpe, Alicante Province. Been to your part of the world though, drive through it on our way to and from Germany each year.

Good morning everyone
I have started this post as a place where we can start our day simply writing our thoughts of the day.
It is a quiet mornining where I live, the trees are still, the sea is calm and there is a feeling of tranquilty today. The temperature is already creeping up at 21c and everywhere feels so calm. My OH and my son and his girl friend are still in the land of Nod. Jet and Joe my lovely Cocker Spaniels have woken and came dowstairs to the study, and Joe is sound asleep by my feet and Jet is sniffing around the garden. Yesterday we had a birthday lunch witha friend who was celebrating his 70th birtday. He generously paid for 40 friends to join him and his wife and we had a great time. He could not have chosen a better restaurant over looking not only the Med but my favourite Castle, Papa Luna castle which is surrounded by rocks and has the sea lapping all around. The sun was strong and the light therfore was wonderful, children, parents, grandparents etc were in and out of the sea and the world felt great. No...it wasn't just the wine etc ...
We did not go back to our friends house for the rest of the afternoon as our son is visiting along with his girlfriend and we do not know when we shall see him again so... also our frined lives about 10 miles inland and the roads are ....well not really roads at all so knew we would be tempted with the wine so took the cautios route!! Ha ha a pun and I didn't realise until I had written in.
Just come back from my 10 minutes of walking around the garden and thinking of all those who helped me in recent times, I would not have retired if it had not been for their support and encouragement, and would not therefore be so content, for those who have personal worries and concerns, for those for whom life is proving very difficult and for those who may be lonely even in a crowd.
I also this morning pondered on what a beautiful world we live in and decided to try to remember that. I also thought about my sons colleagues who have lost their lives in Helmund and other places and at the same time said Thanks that my son is still safe and well.
Bye for now and please add your own thoughts, I will be back tomorrow
Bridget
