Lorna,
Thanks for your kind words, why not visit us each day and let us all know what life is like in your part of the world, perhaps you could describe the area you live in the upside and the downside, the weather, the facilities and how you chill out...Oh dear I do go on don't I?
I think I have relatives in Brisbane, I will have to check it out
Now ther is a good reason for you to come back tomorrow.

So glad you have come out of hiding....I did put a thread up to thank everyone involved in helping me to see clearly where my future was...and how glad I am that I did, you were all so kind and considerate.. I hope you can all see the real me now rather than the ditherer I was at that very difficult time. Please stay in touch and add your bits and pieces about your day
Take care
Bridget
PS just read your message again...Did I sound so awaful that you had to go in hiding ? If so I am truly sorry, but now you can see the real me.

Hi Bridget, Rained on and off for a couple of hours yesterday, all of it sandy, so clearing up to do. Quite sunny on the coast, been to Denia this morning for bits and pieces...traffic was appalling. Still cloudy here but very warm. The late lunch on Sunday went very well, just finished the last of the ham for lunch today...delicious. Nothing much planned for the rest of the day, himself off to play snooker this afternoon, so have the place to myself....yippee!!! Neighbours coming round this evening for a drink and a catch up, that's about it. May have to go and lie down in a darkened room after all the excitement!!! Speak soon, Frances

Hello Bridget, I've been reading your posts but this is the first time I have 'dared' to talk to you. I'm one of the people who advised you to retire and I've been waiting to see how our advice panned out.
Seems like we can come out from hiding now. Sounds like you are really enjoying the peaceful life. I'm so pleased to see it. Best of wishes to you.

Hi Briget,
This is the first time I have read Daily Diary. Bridget I just felt I would like to be there where you live, sounds wonderful. I live in Norman Park a suburb of Brisbane, Qld. Australia. Today the weather was mild around 23 deg. Tuesday is always craft day. I had a great day lots of laughs and much talking. A group of us girls went out to lunch and again much talking.
It is very interesting to read everyones stories. Life is just Great.
Hope everyone is enjoying life to the fullest as I am.
Take Care, Lorna

Next visitors arrive on Sunday and I am sooooo looking forward to seeing them Val is a very longstanding friend and lives in Yorkshire ...we have so many things in common that I am sure that the two weeks will fly by. Her husband is a former colleague of OH and they have a quirky sense of humour..also he is an excellent cook and loves making Paella and managing BBQs, so we will be having one or two Pool and Food afternoons and evenings with all our friends. Because we are lucky enough to have a large pool it is not unusual to have 12 to 14 people here..they all bring food and or drinks with them and it is rather like having a large family around me again.
When we lived in UK we had two sets of parents and six children living with us for some time, so when we were reduced to just two of us it felt very strange indeed
Well the grey sky is turning blue and the sea is sparkling, the fishermen have gone out and the dogs want their breakfst so I have to go,
DIZZI, how is that canvas progressing??
Jenxx ,what happened to all those paving stones and how have your days been?
Mummo, did you go to Weymouth, I have only been there once when I was a student nurse, now that would have been inthe late 1960s...I wonder if it has changed.
Catchthecat, have the storms finished? We still have not had any rain and today is very warm already...How was your day and anything special for today
Keith, did you get to the opticians and what about all the paving stones did you lay any and that writing you talk about......has it actually started?
My day today holds nothing very exciting although we do have someone coming to look at our computers. We have three on the go all the time. OH has two one for pleasure and one for all his music ,films, football etc, this is also used by any visitors.
I have desk top which I recently, well at Christmas, bought out here in Spain. I have someone coming to look at it today as it is very slow and there isn't any sound....Thank goodness the person coming to do the work is Dutch and he speaks excellent English...my Spanish is not good enough at this level.
Hello to anyone else who decides to visit today.
Ohs son called us yesterday to say he wasn't arriving afterall as he has some work over the next few weeks and he thought it wiser to take the work.....so, whilst we are sorry he will not be here we do think he has done the right thing.. Well the sky is turning a lovely blue , the fishermaen are long gone for their catch and Jet and Joe are looking at me for their breakfast. I think my quiet time is going to be spent whilst I am doing the ironing
hope to here from you all
Bridget

Well the sky turned very dark, the wind increased and it looked as if rain or storm was imminent, so we decided not to go shopping for a new vacuum cleaner as Jet and Joe simply hate storms. Put the car away came in and put the kettle on and made some sandwiches and lo and behold the sun came out and it is hot again and been sunny since around 15.00hrs. So quite what is going on I do not know.
My daughter and her two children went to Hastings for a week last week and had good weather so the UK seems to be having a mixed weather report.
I am sure that you still enjoyed your lunch with your friends. The weather forcast indicates that by Wednesday we will be in Hot weather again. If you google AccuWeather.com and put in your area it will give you a forecast for up to 15 days, did you know this?
Well bye for now enjoy the rest of the day
Bridget

Well it is really raining now. We have neighbours returning home from a visit to the UK...cut short because of the appalling weather they have encountered, so they'll probably turn round and drive back again!!! Feel so sorry for the families who have saved up all year for their holiday in the sun.

Hi Bridget, Well the decision was made for us, it began to rain so set the table inside, lo and behold by the time we sat down to eat the sun was out!!!!! Fantastic lightening storm last night, continuous for about two hours, no thunder though so it must have been a long way away. Today is very overcast but still warm. The rain we had yesterday wasn't enough to fill an egg-cup really, apparently the rest of Spain is having wonderful weather it is just this eastern side that is unsettled. Hope your day goes well. Frances.

Thanks Keith, I hope the eye test is OK. Had mine last December and sight not so good so two new pairs of specs as I was working at the time it made sense. One pair of frames free but the cost of varifocals is OUCH< OUCH!! Well hopefully they will last a while. Today it is overcast and we are hoping for rain, that will clear the air and move the dust, and then we can go back to sunshine. The sea is not quite black and I think about the fishermen who leave between 04.30 and 05.00 five mornings a week. I wouldn't want to be one of them out there in a storm so must add them today to my contemplation. Therir work does enable us to go down around 17.00 hrs and buy fresh fish and it is delicious. Most is auctioned to the restaurants but always there is plenty to buy. No scales as we would use in UK, the ladies are dressed in black from head to toe and weigh the fish in wooden scales and literally use stones to weigh the fish....very strange at first!!
How is that book coming along!
Have a good day everyone
Bridget

Hi Frances
he sky is turning grey, the clouds are gathering but the are still large areas of bleu, there is a slight breeze and the temp has dropped, not a lot but nevertheless it is cooler, maybe just maybe we will get some rain...I think we would all be comfortable afterwards.
Enjoy your meal, jsut as I was about to pess the send button out came the sunshine....
Keith, now do not overdo it with laying the paving stones

Hi Bridget, Can't seem to make up its mind today, lots of cloud, then some sun, then more grey cloud. Have until 4 to decide in which part of the garden we are going to eat...under the gazebo in case it rains or the top of the garden under a tree, my favourite spot..decisions decisions. Have to say we didn't have the thunder and lightening, perhaps would feel fresher if we did. Take care Frances

Good morning everyone and my apologies for being so late...I have been busy working out how to invite someone to view my tree on Ancestry OK, so I know most of you will know all this but I have to fail at something!!! Jenxx 370 paving stones.....did you move them all and do the shopping and dinner and care for the grandchildren ......I award you a medal and an extra thought in my quiet time..
Dizz you intrigue me...I would love to see your work and where do those sudden moments of inspiration come from...I shall certainly add you to my my thoughts and contemplation time
Mummo I have never been to Weymouth I shall look it up. I hope that the weather was good and that you enjoyed your day
Frances I have that Nigella book with the Ham recipe but have never tried it, you may have inspired me...Re the weather...yes we have been forcast rain and storms but so far they haven't reached here. Yesterday morning the sky looked heavy and it was rather cloudy and we thought "at last it will rain and clear the air" BUT as the morning went on the clouds disappeard and the sun came out and we recorded 41c in the garden.....even Jet and Jo were to lethargic to be bothered to do anything other than layaround and drink water.
During the night I was woken by lightening and rolls of thunder..now I simply love thunderstorms especially when you can watch them over the sea...White wine" comes to mind..so went on balcony with said white one and watched the amazing lightening and heard the long rolls of the thunder. The sky over the Castle became very dark and the sea was many hues of blue BUT.....ABSOLUTELY NO RAIN. Now we really need the rain for the resevoirs etc but....maybe it will be a wet autunm or winter..
Right now as I look out of the window there are a lot of grey clouds but every now and again the sun tries to break through the temp is around 25c so not so bad and there is a slight breeze.
I am ready now for my quiet time when I think of you all and simply let my wonder...I have a concern about my OHs son who is coming to see us on Monday for a week,,,,it is a complictaed story but I am worried about his mood and health. so he will have some special moments...I have posted details about this elsewhere as this board is really my little Haven
Enjoy your day everyone and remember to have a few minutes of your own quiet time.
Hope to hear from you all again
Bridget

Afternoon Bridget, Sorry to be so late in posting but have been busy preparing for meal with friends to-morrow, doing Ham cooked in coke courtesy of Nigella. It is great either hot or cold, decided we would have it cold with lots of salads and crusty bread. Hopefully we will be out in the garden but thought I'd better clean the house just in case the unthinkable happens and it rains. The Spanish weatherforecast last night, Friday, said we would be getting lots of rain, we haven't as yet what about you? Frances
