Hello everyone,

Glad to see that we are still chatting away,

the wether here has been rain and mist so I could not se the sea yesterday morning when I opened the curtains, but whilst it has rained for most of the day it has stopped now and the sky has cleared. i haven't had an oppotunity to explore the area yet but the country side is beautiful, England really is a "green and pleasant land".

I am going out to dinner tonight with my boss Rob and by all accounts it is a good place to eat. I told him that i do not like to drive far when it is dark so he said, "come by taxi and claim the cost,,,,,,", so I have booked the taxi and so now can have a G and T and some wine!!

OH has told mme that he will be here at the end of the month so my life is looking good.

Please take care of yourselves and I will try o get online again tomorrow

Just a few words from me,

Another cloudy warm day over here and the sea this morning was almost navy blue.

Thanks for the good wishes Frances, we spent a quiet day at home, will go out for a celebratory meal at the week end.

We have friends from London arriving on the 24th, although they stay in self-catering accommodation they spend a lot of time with us. We always enjoy their visits. During the last week of their stay we will be going down to the Western Province, and if we are lucky we will be able to see some whales.

Have a good day.

Will check out the new recipe.
Belated happy anniversary wishes to Val & Jimmy, didn't get a chance to read any posts yesterday.
Enjoy the rest of the day

Hello everyone

Yes it is me, I am using works comp so cannot stay too long.

Thank you all for keepimg this going, I miss not having it available throughout the day but OH will sort that out when he arrives as will be on the net at our new abode.

Re fliight apparently it was the fault oof the managares at Reus Airport as they "did not notice that the wrong mneassage as being shown and apologise" well it is not exactly a huge airport although n where near the two runway it was when I first started using it.

VAl in SA glad that Jimmy is improving

Catch the Cat
Wouldn't mind being unemployed for the right reason , meanwhile being a bighead, I am glad I am around....
Woke this morning and there was all this grey stuff outside....yes it was mist and rain and then I remembered that I am back in UK. Actually so far I am enjoying it and in daily contact with OH who has arranged his travel to UK so only alone until end of the month.

Have been invited out to dinner tomorrow night by Boss man so that will be pleasant, know him quite well.... said I didn't want to drive to much at night so now having a Taxi instead which Boss man will pay for.

Have added a new recipe to Culinary threads wil, try to add some more asap
SSAFA will be contacting me to confirm date for meeting will let you all know when that happens.
Will describe where I am living another day

Keith noticed your entry, good to hear from you

Thanks for the good wishes Mary.

It sounds as if you will have a busy time when you visit the UK but you will enjoy it I'm sure. Strange how nothing seems to say "buy me" when one is looking to spend husband's money!!. You will just have to keep looking.

The mist has lifted and it is indeed quite warm.

Enjoy lunch with your friends.

Congratulations and best wishes Val and Jimmy on your wedding anniversary - we will have clocked up 42 yeres this December and I agree with you do not know were the time has gone.
Had a lovely weekend - weather glorious - went in the sea yesterday and we had bbq's Saturday and Sunday night . sat out with the moon and stars - wonderful.
On another note went shopping on Saturday and could not spend hubby's money - saw nothing I liked - so he still owes me a birthday present !!!
Booked our flights yesterday for our trip to UK - flying to Liverpool on 2nd December to see son and his wife, 4th December motoring down to Nottingham to see grandchildren - hopefully - then on to West Midlands to stay with some friends - then on to Evesham on Saturday morning for Wedding at posh hotel - then Sunday down to Cornwall to stay 3 days with my mom and sister then flying bacj from Bristol on 10th December. I expect the time will fly by but I am looking forward to the trip not been to UK for 3 years.
Well must get my mop and bucket out got friends coming over for lunch. Enjoy your Monday one and all.
Love Mary xx

Good morning all,

There is a heavy mist here this morning can't see the sea, so I think when it lifts it is going to be very hot.

My washing is out so I hope it dries quickly.

Bridget, at one of the supermarkets on Saturday the first of the Christmas decorations were out, no music though!

Time flies, we have been married for 52 years to-day, when I think about it the years seem to have gone in a flash. Will celebrate at a later date.

Will be doing as little as possible to-day!

Have a wonderful day.

Take care.

Goodmorning,

Overcast and humid again to-day - oh where is the rain??

Thanks Frances, Jimmy is much better to-day so he is much happier.
Getting old is not for the faint-hearted!!!!

Our Ladies Group made about R1500 (£125 I think, doesn;t sound much in £s!) yesterday with the sale of pancakes. Next time we must have more pancake mixture.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Take care,

Morning all,
Weather glorious so no more moaning from me. Glad to hear Bridget arrived safely, think she flew with the Irish lot...RyanAir, say no more. Shouldn't judge though as have never flown with them.
Have just finished a great pile of ironing, changed the bed etc. so am treating myself to a cuppa and an hour on the family tree.

Val in SA,
Hope Jimmy is feeling a bit more chipper. Why can't we just grow old without having all these problems? I know people like Bridget would be redundant but we deserve a bit of peace as we age. Ah well c'est la vie!

Enjoy the day
Frances

PS: Fish & chips for 4.50, how lucky are you Ann? We paid over 20euros for fish & chips for two and a couple of glasses of beer last week!!! And it wasn't anywhere posh either.

Glad to hear you arrived safely Bridget, hope everything goes smoothly now.

It's cloudy and very humid here to-day.

Jimmy is still battlling with a chest infection and now has cellulitis in his right lower leg, and is not a happy camper right now.

I must be off to offer some support to the ladies selling pancakes this morning, jhjave told Jimmy to stay in bed while I am out, of course whether he will is another question!!

Bye for now,

Glad you got there OK. What airline were you with, doesn't sound very good, although it was maybe the airports fault rather than the airline. Annoying not to have space in the overheads though, these days there is usually plenty of room. still i hope the rest of your journey goes smoothly.

Hello everyone

I arrived safely and on time but at Reus airport the board said that our flihgt was delayed, the suddenly about 5 mins before take ooff the mesage acme across that this info was wrong and it was 10 mins till take off. can you imagine the chaos, ashamed to say I was very cross especially as I allways book to be one of the first on and priority, but was virtually last on and couldn't find space for my hand luggage. I even sounded bad to myself!!

Weather in UK not ot cold in fairly sunny Essex/suffolk border, staying the night overlooking the marina in Ipswich and now going to have a nattaer wth my daughter.
Leave here around 6am tommorrow which shoild mean an easy drive to destination. Then meet the Agents for the flat whish is in a place called Sandrock Hall at The Ridge and the Home is in Westfiled nr Hastings

Thanks for keeping this going

Must go

bye and good night

Hello all, glad your rain seems to have stopped Mary, hope the weather holds for your Mum.
Met up with friends for coffee at the garden centre this morning. He is sporting a natty line in nose tubes leading to his oxygen, until March he was playing golf, he had a cold, then a cough, then it affected his lungs and the hospital don't know what the problem is but he can't walk more than 50 yards without the oxygen. However he is so bright and cheerful and never complains, an example to all the men I know when they are ill, and of course he can't play golf now. T didn't play golf today because he still has a problem with his foot so, after coffee at Blooms Garden Centre and a wander around we left them and went out for lunch at a Brewers Fayre, (fish and chips 2 for £9.) Then to Tesco to get the shopping. Spent the rest of the afternoon making cards.

It has turned quite chilly here today so i guess our Indian summer has gone, hope Bridget has her winter woolies on!!!

Good afternoon all
Thanks for the birthday wishes- Had a lovely meal in Denia last night with hubby and Jeni our next door neighbour - sat outside eating - it was a lovely warm night. Looking forward to my shopping trip tomorrow spending hubby's money - lol.
Another glorious day today - really hope it lasts as my mom is coming over on Wednesday for a week. Will be picking her up from Valencia airport early afternoon - can't wait !!!
Youngest son has just phoned me - he sounds awful bad throat and chesty cough . hope he manages to get rid of it soon. Moms we do worry don't we.
Hope Bridget got off ok and soon manages to get back on line so she can tell us all about everything.
Will try and get on computer over the weekend - if I do not hope you all have a good one.
As weather forecast is good we are having a bbq tomorrow night.
Take care
Love Mary xx

Hello,

I've been running around like a headless chicken to-day!! Not sure why everything was so upside down. Did the usual weekly shopping this morning, I love the shopping but don't like packing it away when I get home.

Weatherwise it was a pleasant day, but still no rain.

I think I will be getting take-aways for supper to-night.

Bye

Just wishing you the best in your move, Bridget. I don't have anything to report, only that the red dust is still evident on cars which don't get washed very often. Mine is clean once more and we have a forecast of rain over the weekend, so some of the others might look better in a few days' time!

Hope you had a good day for your birthday, Mary.
