good morning again
I have been busy this morning, sending messages on various threads, looking at my hot matches, and then making sure that the spare bedroom is clean and tidy reay for my eldest stepson, his partner and theirone year old daughter roberta arriving this afternoon. Some of you may remember when Roberta was born a litte over a year ago and so many people commented on what a lovely name it is...doesn't time fly past?
I hope to be away from work around 4pm so that I can spend some time with them, they should arrive around 2pm and will be leaving in the morning.
When I first got up this morning I was surprised at the change in the weather. I could hardly see out of our windows due to such a heavy miist, it looks like a foggy November day. However I could still hear all the different bird songs even if I couldn't see them.
The sky is grey and the mist has started lifting and the drop in temperature is most definetley felt..
I made a coffee, and sat down on the settee and thought about all the people who have either contacted me or those who I have contacted and decided that it must have run ino hundreds over the years.
I tried to recall all those who are having difficult times for one reason or another and prayed, in my own fashion, that they have a t least some peace even if a situation cannot be resolved. It made me think about how simple and yet how complicated life can be and recalled the times in my life when I wondered if life was really worth living. On tw0 occassions I decided that it was not worth living but fortunatley for me I am still here and it was these experiences that lead me to have what I call my quiet time and positive thoughts.
Now how on earth did I reach the decision to share this information....! I cannot answer that question but my fingers simply flew onto the key board, miss spellings and all so I am not going to edit this message...
I am generally a content person now and send you all happy thoughts and wish you all a pleasing day
Bye for now
Bridget

Bridget, enjoy your time with the family, and is little Roberta really an year old, the older one gets the faster time flies.

We are cyber friends of course Bridget, in my mind we have never not been, ever since we first started chatting on various threads.
I hope your interview went well for you, but 10 months, good job you are suitable isn't it? Bit late if you are not!

Do you know, I must be fortunate because I have never, ever felt that life was not worth living, sometimes it has been not so good but mostly my life has been wonderful (all almost 70 years of it). I guess I am one of the fortunate ones. I hope that life now continues to be good for you Bridget.

Oh Ann in Glos
Thank you for such a warm message, I was somewhat younger when I felt so low but know better now and I am very happy, and fortunate enough to have a very caring husband.

I have been accepted as "suitable" so good news
Going out with family now will be in touch again soon.

Bye for now friend

Hi Bridget, I put a reply up to your message of 6.46 today.

It has got lost somewhere, perhaps I clicked in the wrong place.
Anyway, I thanked you for sharing your sad times. I too have been really down. Although I feel, happy, lucky and contented, I sometimes can't stop depression rearing its ugly head.
I just tell myself that I have come through to the otherside of depression before and will do so again, and eventually it goes away.

I am sure that a lot of people on here must have "down" times. Having all these cyber friends, as well as people I can see face to face, is a big help.

Off to phone a cousin I met through genes.

Thank you for spending a special time each day for your thought time. A really wonderful idea, which must have helped a lot of people.

Ann in Glos.

Both my sister and I, when we saw our ancestors writing thought "I wish Mum could see this"
It was my Mum who taught me to email (when she was in her 80's) She also bought me the computer, whic has enabled me to do all the research. Unfortunately she died just a few weeks later, so she didn't get the full benefit of the enjoyment she gave me.

Tess, how sad your Mum didn't get to know the enjoyment she had led you to have. But how clever of her to know that you would absorb it and make good use of it. Clever Mum you had. Tere are a lot of people on these threads who do suffer from depression, some of whom are often on the anxieties and depressions thread. I always think the title of that thread makes it sound miserable but there are a lot of laughs and lighter moments on there as well as much support given.

I think Bridget if you inadvertently press reply instead of submit it deletes the message because it thinks you want to write another one.

You could try highlighting all the text, then go to edit (up the top) and copy, then put the cursor on the reply box and go into edit again and press paste. Not sure about clip board, are you in word?

Thank you Ann,
I have written the story about holidays and saved it in my normal place but cannot copy it to this thread. I have windows seven so i wonder if that is something to do with it. I will have to write it again directly on here tomorrow evening or write something new.

Cold water rolling across our feet
The shrill cries of two city children
Running across the golden sand.

Hot freshly cooked doughnuts
Candyfloss bright pink on a stick
All the fun of the fair.

Shivering in the east wind
With the sun shining down
Jumping over the waves.

Squelas of delight as the
Picnic basket opened,
Warm lemonade to drink

Our first holiday by the sea
Two sisters bonding together
A memory chord never broken.

20 years later older sister
Living in favourite holiday place
Sisters and cousins bonding

A memory chord never broken
A new chord growing
Sisters and cousins, bonding
My favourite holiday memory

Frinton on Sea

I have never written in this form before but somehow it just happened. I did write a much longer piece about the Northern Lights but could not paste it.

Hopeful others may now add.

Good morning everyone and I hope your day is peaceful.
How hot it was yesterday, I went to Bluewater,(a shopping centre) to buy an outfit for my sons' wedding and it was lovely and cool in the centre but when we came out the temp hit us...
we have hotter weather in Spain but for the UK it was unusual.

I found the outfit and the shoes to go with it so now I simly have to buy a hat and I have what is needed, for this civil marriage. Then it is diet time as I was shocked by the weight I have put on since I have been in he UK....As the church wedding is 14th May next year I must get on with dieting...any tips anyone, ? apart from eat less!!
Please do try to add your written pieces, I have just looked at mine and seen a couple of errors...And also we need some suggestions for the next choice list.

well I am going o make a coffe now and sit in the quiet and contemplate for a while and send my positive thoughts..
I will look on here again later today, enjoy the day

Morning Bridget,
Haven't writen for a few days as am having problems with my computer, won't bore you with the details but am unable to send e-mails, amongst other things. Weather here is glorious around 36/37 in the shade with just a light breeze to take the edge off. Big night for Spain, must find something red & yellow to wear!
So glad Germany won last night. What will we do when the World Cup is over? Genealogy perhaps!
Loved the poem, Bridget oh and congrats on being found suitable!!!
Enjoy the day and take care,
Frances.
PS. As regards the diet the son of our neighbours has just lost 4 stones just by cutting out the rubbish in his diet, chips, crisps etc. and eating fresh fruit, vegetables and chicken and fish....

Loved the poem Bridget, quite evocative. Will try to add my bit later, but will be in prose, just a few memories.
Managed to sleep last night, as it was a little cooler, and pollen wasn't irritating me.
Will be watching the Football later. Don't know what colours the teams will be wearing though, as their normal home strips, are of simular colour.
Will one or both of them change?

I will be cheering for Spain anyway.

I think that the match has been rather scrappy BUT now in extra time it is exciting so if no goal in the next fifteen minutes it will be a penalty shootout, What do you think about that???
