LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 May 2015 23:34

we are going to Kefalonia (Greek island) for two weeks, then we are back for about three and a half weeks before we go to America for two weeks

Where are you off to?

Lovely message from Shaun. Good to hear that Tec still has his sense of humour.

Fancy opting out of Ikea Sylvia, I like going there

Poor little thing would be upset at knocking the table over, I hope he felt better after his nap

I have booked the hotel for two nights when we get to LA before we fly up to Seattle. I have just spent ages filling in the ESTA forms for security clearance to the USA, I will be glad when everything is sorted out

Good job we are having a holiday before this holiday :-D

Shaun asked me to copy this across for him

I have had a lovely chat with Tec this evening, he sounded very cheerful and his wicked sense of humour came through more and just the once, it was lovely for the both of us to have a good laugh.
Tec said that he have had a lot of hassle with the phone and on times could of thrown it out of the window but it’s working ok now, I think he said that is son-in-law sorted it for him. I mentioned to Tec that I started a competition regarding naming a mate for Archie, he burst out laughing as he thought it hilarious and cannot wait to get back on the computer to see what you have suggested, so get thinking folks and post your chosen names BUT Tec did say you had better not tell Archie what is going on?))))))))) Tec went on to say what a loving and supportive group of friends you all are and to thank you all for all the messages he has had from Linda and myself.

Oh dear Sylvia - not a good day for the little fellow. A nap would have been good for him. How old is he?

I think you will need a holiday when you get home Linda.

it's cool here as well ...................

I've got a long sleeved cotton turtle neck on, instead of my usual summer tops

There are also big black clouds around!

We have a bit of an unhappy little boy ........ OH took daughter and him to IKEA this morning, I opted out.

He went very happily into Smaland, their play area ............ but then J had to get him after 1 hour, which meant he had to leave a movie he was enjoying.

Now, she's just been on the phone to her husband, but kiddo who was left to play quietly with her old Fisher Price castle and told not to climb on the furniture or kick his legs around, did the latter and knocked over a little coffee table. He got very upset about it, and Grandma and Grandma were no good in comforting!

He's very tired, and is now having a nap!!

sorry .........

just had to laugh when I re-read my posting just now .......... obviously didn't yesterday .........

"Possibly take a ferry to and back from one of the islands when you've finished with the Space Needle, PILE Place market, Woodland Park Zoo, Aquarium, etc etc?"

It's Pike Place Market :-D :-D

I think they may well have those jump off / jump off buses that take people around all the major sites.

Seattle sounds hopeful Sylvia, thank you for that. The conference is unfortunately at an airport hotel, but it does seem to have a decent pool which Eve will like

There seems to be a shuttle tram from the airport to the centre which takes about half an hour, so we should be able to get out and about

I have just booked the Disney hotel for a week, it cost a fortune. This is going to be one heck of an expensive trip but never mind

sh has 3 boys .......... 2, 4 and almost 8 :-0

Silly site just logged me out for no reason

The return flights to LA are all booked now so we can start booking all the other bits now.it I'd going to cost a phenomenal amount of money- oh well :-(

They only hold it every two years. Last time it was in Florida which would have been far easier not tomentioncheapet

Linda ............

that sounds like a very interesting summer. The conference should be very exciting for your daughter and s-i-l ...... they'll get to meet other parents in the same situation.

There are lots of things to do in and around Seattle. Possibly take a ferry to and back from one of the islands when you've finished with the Space Needle, Pile Place market, Woodland Park Zoo, Aquarium, etc etc?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 May 2015 23:28

I am Linda :-D

Your summer sounds good - and interesting. I hope the conference answers many questions for your daughter and SIL.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 16 May 2015 23:15

Hello Sue. Surely you can't be old enough to have a nephew who is getting engaged :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 16 May 2015 23:13

I am glad that you are enjoying some nice family time Sylvia, quiet time with a movie is always good

We are heading over the pond in the summer going to a medical conference in Seattle. We are going to fly to LA as it is cheaper, my daughter is booking those flights as I type. We will then rake internal flights up to Seattle and stay for six days. We will look after Eve while her parents and Esme attend the conference sessions. Hopefully we will be able to find places to take her.
We will then fly back down to LA for another seven nights where we will have serious Disney time.

SueMaid Report 16 May 2015 23:10

Hello :-) Lovely to see you Carole. One of my nephews has also just become engaged - much excitement :-)

No wonder you are so angry Linda. Not only you I'm sure :-| I don't think our rail services has ever been halted to that extent.

Hope you have a lovely time with your daughter and grandson. He must be growing up.
