Tecwyn Report 22 May 2015 20:07

Hello..................Guess what?............I'm home where I belong, but nobody knows, not even my daughter.

The doctor said I could go, as did everyone else, so with the collusion of my next door neighbour I was out the door.

My daughter and SIL are arriving here in the morning, then going on to the hospital to collect me - they will be surprised when I greet them at my front door :-D

I am glad you survived the baby sitting Sylvia, they are indeed hard work

We took Eve to an aquarium not long ago. she was fascinated by the coloured jellyfish, she just wanted to watch them and as you say was not bothered about some of what to us where more spectacular tanks.

The rail strike has been called off thank goodness and I can go and bring Eve back here, she is complaining it is for only four sleep overs, she wants to stay longer. Her wish will be granted in the summer when all the school holidays are to cover.

It is Meals on Wheels again today, I do them twice a month now. I am meeting OH in town afterwards so we can have lunch out ourselves

Today was our day to "babysit" ................

J went to see our friends on the island for the day, she caught the 8:30 am ferry and is now on the 3:30pm ferry back to the mainland.

We took MJ to the Aquarium ....... he was intrigued with a lot, didn't want to see many things ............ some of the exhibits that intrigued him surprised us, and some of the ones he didn't want to see also surprised us!!

We borrowed a wheelchair for me that OH had to push, and that worked quite well.

He is hard work though .......... he is currently being assessed for different things before he starts Primary in September (= full time Kindergarten). He's very bright but cannot sit or stand still, cannot talk without shouting, is very wary of new things.

For example, there is an Amazon Gallery which has "downpours" of tropical rain .......... sprays of water from nozzles high above. He was scared of going through that, so we had to stop, get as much out of the way as we could (try that in a wheelchair!) and talk him through it, let him see that other people were walking through the spray without getting hurt, and finally he said "OK, I'll try it"

We ended up the day out at our regular coffee shop ......... he loves going to coffee shops :-D

Now, he's watching a movie on mummy's tablet, and we're resting in our own ways!

One more day, and then they go back home.

Hi Linda

that's great news about Tec xxx

I assume from that that no further adaptations are needed to the house before he can go home

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 May 2015 00:00

I got side tracked and it is midnight now so I must go to sleep.

It is half term here next week so Tecs daughter will not be at work. She will be able to stay to settle him in assuming they let him out.

Stay in and read all day. Goodnight <3

I am glad that you have had an ice day. It is warm and sunny here, but very windy.

OH is out walking, I went to the cinema to do some admin and ended up sorting the sweet cupboard out as there had been a delivery and U.S. Was all just jammed in any old how

Don't be rude Linda :-P

Glorious late Autumn day today. Spent some time in the garden while OH did some little jobs around the house - checking the smoke alarms, putting up a new shelf in my lovely laundry and other things. A good day.

SylviaInCanada

weird!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 May 2015 15:16

Tec didn't go home today because when the OT's came at 2pm, they said it was a bit late. Very odd as it is not far to his house. He did go outside and got into their car, he said that it was really easy, easier than with one leg, so he has passed that part.
They are coming back at 10am tomorrow to take him home

And somebody referred to the person running it as their favourite Archivist! Surely an archivist would know how to acknowledge the source of photos rather than just responding to the question with 'it came to me by email'.
