I am in London, we had a good journey down. Eve spent her time colouring and writing. I am back on the train this evening. The house is going to seem empty without her.

Hi everyone
Tec .......... glad to hear you won't have to wait too long for your electric mobile :-)
OH is an absolute train nut, used to collect engine numbers when he was a little boy ............ so of course we had to go to the Railway Museum in York in 2008 :-D
We started off our English trip that year with a meeting of Friends Reunited friends in York, stayed at the Premier Inn just outside Micklegate. We went to the Railway Museum on the 30th May on our way from York through Wensleydale to Heversham
That's one day short of being 7 years ago! Doesn't seem that long ago!

That was the way to travel - unlike today where we are all herded in like cattle, if not in First Class.
Have a good journey tomorrow, there and back. Hugs to Eve.
Goodnight, Tec :-)

The trains are enormous. I like all the royal carriages. Eve was very impressed that some of them had baths and beds in them

I don't think I'll have to wait for the new chair. I do have to wait until I can get it indoors under cover. There is a two to three week wait for the bed, but I can cope with that.

It'll be a long day for you tomorrow Linda. Eve must really be enjoying herself if she doesn't want to go home, but ten sleeps is a bit much :-) How wonderful to go to the National Railway Museum. I wish it were me :-D

Hello Tec, I hope you don't have to wait too long for your chair
We went to the National Railway Museum in York today as it was raining. I wasnt sure about taking her, but she loved it, she didn't want to leave
I am taking her home in the morning and coming back tomorrow night. She is annoyed because she doesn't want to go home, she wants to stay for ten sleeps

Hello,, :-)
I hope that Eve will sleep through again Linda, and that you all enjoyed today. It was showery all day here, but not cold.
Sylvia I can't wait to get my hands on the electric wheelchair. I did fly about the carpark, and took on a few gradients, that the chair just took in it's stride with no effort on my part.
Sue - It is nice that Drew is a good weekend guest. I remember with great affection the time spent with my maternal grandmother, and paternal grandfather. The were a great influence on my life.
My daughter went home today, to spend the weekend with SIL. They hardly ever get a weekend together.
I spent the afternoon catching up with paperwork, and then working out how to get a ramp through the back porch into the garden.

Eve slept in until 8.45am which was good, we must have tired her out :-D
She has slept without waking, no bad dreams this time.
It is raining this morning, so after breakfast I switched the TV on to entertain her while I sorted the washing. It takes time for the box to turn on, so I left it. By the time I came back, she had put a DVDs on all by herself , so she is currently watching a movie. Not quite what I had in mind, but granddad gets to read the paper in peace so he is happy. We are taking her out for the day as it is too rainy to play outside, so she will get plenty of stimulation then.
I am glad you had quality time with Drew Sue, it must be nice for him to be twin less for a while
MJ sounds well trained Sylvia, the nursery teacher did a good job

Hi everyone
warm weather has returned here :-D
It seems that we have 3 or 4 days of warm sunny weather, then 3 or 4 days of cooler greyer weather!
Sue .............. MJ will not get out of bed unless given permission. J said they have just got him to the stage where he realises that he can get out if he needs to go to the loo in the middle of the night ..... he doesn't have to wake Mummy! Otherwise, he plays with his toys or reads a book that has been left within reach of his bed.
Apparently the daycare teacher where he went from the age of 1 insisted that none of the children moved from their beds until nap time was over, and that teaching has lasted with him :-)
Tec ........... I was so glad to hear that you had managed to see the Duchess. xxx
The powered scooter sounds a great idea. Just don't run over the display outside the flower shop as another Welsh friend of mine did on her first outing on hers last year :-D :-D
Linda ........... so glad to hear the toys have gone down well.
Daughter had loaded her tablet with 5 movies that MJ could watch ....... 2 long ones and 3 short Thomas Tank Engine ones.
Quiet time was after lunch, or later if we deemed it necessary for our sanity! A sigh of relief was heard from everyone, including his mother whenever he opted for one of the longer ones :-)

Hello friends :-)
Drew had a sleepover last night. He is the perfect guess. He woke early but stayed in bed reading :-)
A powered scooter will be perfect Tec - we have two that we have loaned out and they have made a huge difference to the clients independence.
Having active grandchildren is lovely but so tiring. DVD's come into their own when you want some quiet time. Eve is certainly enjoying her play things in the garden :-)

I am glad that you managed to visit the Duchees Tec, I hope your cold is getter as well.
It is good that you are getting sorted out, a powered chair is a very good idea and I know you have wanted a new bed for a long time. Are you going to get one of the scooters which look like mock motor bikes, a man in the town has one. I bet it was expensive, I think it looks a bit silly

Hello Everyone, :-D
A busy day for me. My daughter returns home tomorrow, so we decided to take advantage of the fact that I had no medical appointments. It was a lovely day weatherwise, so we went off to Wrexham to look at adjustable beds, and power wheelchairs. I need to change the hospital bed that was issued 18 months ago. The one I have is uncomfortable, and a monstrosity. As I am not likely to drive for the foreseeable future, I need something better than I have to get about the village, to the shop etc. I can trade in the Duchess's scooter. Also the power wheelchair will be much safer negotiating the ramp at the back of the house. We were able to get back in time to visit the Duchess. I was determined to get there this week while my daughter is here. I have to find a taxi firm that is willing to take me and my wheelchair to the home. Transferring is very easy into another car, and then the wheelchair will fold into the boot. The taxi firms charge about double than normal fares, which is a bit of a cheek, but is worth it to me in the circumstances.
The Duchess looked well, although frail at the same time. She does have other health issues apart from the dementia She didn't comment on not having seen me for weeks., and was pleased to see me. She doesn't know I've lost another leg, and I felt nothing would be gained by trying to explain. She just asked if my cold was better :-)
I haven't read back today, so hope everyone is well and happy.
Tec :-)

Sorry I missed you Sue, my bed beckoned.
This morning we made some cakes, then my brother came down to see Eve, so we went to the garden centre for lunch. It has started raining this afternoon, so we have been playing inside. Now we are watching a DVD so grandma can have a rest. Grandad has gone off walking today, so I am on my own.
