Hi

Sue ............. thank you for calling Tec. I was also getting worried about him.

Linda .............. Those little whirly winds are fascinating, aren't they!!

It's getting hotter here again ........... it's supposed to get up to 24C at the airport today, which means it will be at least 2C warmer elsewhere in the city, including here at the house!

Only one more full day left. It is 30 here, but only 9'at home today, that is going to come as a shock :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Jun 2015 12:53

Thank you for ringing him Sue, it doesn't sound good at all, they should never gave let him leave before the wound had healed

Florida sounds lovely, it will be hot there, but they gave huge thunderstorms during the afternoon which cools it down.

I wish we were going to the Florida Disney instead of the Calafornia one, the water parks in Florida are fantastic

SueMaid Report 15 Jun 2015 12:11

How strange Linda - have you been playing with Eve's princess wand again?

Because we are all concerned about our Tec I rang him a few minutes ago. He is not well because of the infection and the heavy duty antibiotics he is on. The nurse is coming again tomorrow and if there is no improvement he will ring the surgeon in Shrewsbury.

Cold and wet here - I'm not liking it at all :-( Tomorrow my son flies to Florida where it very hot at the moment. I hope he sends over some of the warmth.

It is so hot outside that we have come in for a rest in the air on, then we will go back out later on

I just saw a remarkable thing. We were having a lunch snack in the shaded bar area. Without any warning a wind appeared from nowhere and blew the services off the table within a minute I saw four sund beds and three little rattan tables suddenly picked up in a circular whirlwind. They rose about three feet off the ground and we're goinG around in a circle before they clattered to the ground. It caused quite a consternation. It happened at a spot where there was a passé way between two buildings. The wind subsided as quickly as it came and the leaves are hardly moving again

I am worrying about him as well Linda.

I have sent a message to Michael ( I assume) suggesting he puts it on Find ancestors, I am sure we will all look ,but if he does put in on there, it would be best to keep it to one thread

I hope Tec is OK, I am fretting about him

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Jun 2015 07:40

I will send a message to Baker telling them hoe to get back to the post and suggesting that they put it on the find ancestors board. I assume that they are trying to go backwards and find the family in England assuming they came from there. I wonder if they have the death record for Joseph Henry as I know in a lot of states that gives the mothers name as well

I will try to look some things up tonight but it is a bit difficult on my tablet

I went to pay for me at the Langham.. but Shena paid for the four of us. I knew she was paying for my friend who is Shena's aunty but I did not mind that she paid, her husband was the MD where I worked, so it seemed fair enough to me.

Of to Wellington next week before my daughter goes back to work 1st July.

Going to auction this Thurs to see how the flash place in Cambridge does.

Was out today with another friend and her little boy (4) I gave him his late birthday present and then whilst out I got a late present for his brother 10 and an early one for his sister 8. It saved me having to think what to get them, what I bought the girl was something I would have bypassed..

Sat is Evan's birthday he will be 14.. have got him a good quality very warm hoodie with an Australian logo on it.

A very handsome couple.

We need rain also.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Jun 2015 22:03

The temperature here cooled down slightly from Thursday on ....... 20C highs are much nicer in my opinion than 25C and above. The nights also became much cooler, which made it much easier to sleep.

We had very high winds early Friday morning, which blew down some trees on city streets, damaged some cars, and cut off power for several hours ............... we didn't get any damage in our neighbourhood, I never heard a thing :-) The wind was still pretty strong when I got up at about 8 am, the trees and shrubs were blowing frantically.

The forecast is for it to get warmer again from tomorrow on.

We DO need some rain!

Persie ..................

I was interested to see that the Langham added a 2% premium for using a credit card :-(

I must admit, it looked fantastic! And the Tea menu looked excellent .......... and very tempting!!

Tec ........... I do hope the nurse has been to see you today, and that the infection is improving, and that you are feeling much better <3 <3 <3

I was looking at photos from this wedding last night, and not for the first time in this past year, I really noticed how many young beautiful/handsome royal couples there now are in Europe, either as King and Queen or Crown Princes/esses. None of them seem to be older than their early 40s, and they all seem to know each other reasonably well .......... or at least, are good actors :-D

It's quite incredible ........... and many of the women can really give Kate M a run for her money in the beauty and elegance departments!

Also notable, I think, is the number of them who have married "commoners" ............ there's been a real injection of "ordinary" blood into the old "blue blood: lines, so many of which could trace back to Queen Victoria and her brood of children.

Oh Tec, I am so sorry you have the infection, they should never have let you leave Shrewsbury until the wound was healed, then it may not have become infected

Persephone

Persephone Report 13 Jun 2015 00:52

It's okay Sue, she went and changed into a lovely skirt and top. I did wear trousers as did one of the others but we were dressed appropriately.

I am not happy with the infection Tec, the sooner that clears up the better, then you can move on with enjoying your gadgets.

Hello :-)

Persie - how embarrassing to turn up wearing jeans to such such a posh establishment. Definately a frock occasion. I have a couple of very nice frocks that would suit - can I go with you next time.

Tec - lovely to hear from you - you are quite busy with visitors. I do hope the infection clears up soon.

Linda - a swim in the sea sounds lovely and refreshing in the heat.

Sylvia - hope you are well.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Jun 2015 21:36

Hello, :-)

Sounds like you are having a nice relaxing holiday Linda. Much too hot for me though. It has been very humid here today, and the fine weather is forecast to break tonight with heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Persie you could come here in a posh frock on Sunday. The vicar is holding his annual Strawberry Tea, in the grounds of the Vicarage, weather permitting.
A very genteel affair with lots of posh frocks, the Silver Band in attendance.

The thing is to make a swift exit should you see John Nettles approaching - there are always two bodies to be found before the occasion is over :-D

My ramp that allows me to get into the garden is now complete, and I am delighted with it. That and the electric wheelchair have made such a difference to me.

My daughter was here in the week, and we spent a couple of hours with the Duchess, that was very nice. The Duchess was cheerful, she is rather frail now.
It was a good visit.

My sister and BIL have visited me twice this week. They live in the South of England and rented a chalet a few miles away. It was nice to see them, and they return home tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I have a bad infection in the wound in my leg. I'm taking anti-biotics in the hope it will clear up.
The nurse is coming back on Sunday to change the dressing.
The infection is making me feel rather unwell now, so I hope it clears up soon.
I am off to bed now,

Goodnight everyone.
Tec

:-)
