Lunch out sounds nice

My daughter said at least she saved £130 on the entertainer. OH nearly had a fit when he heard that, but apparently that is the going rate in London

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Jun 2015 23:22

We had a family Skype session this morning to open her presents with both sets of grandparents which was nice. She had a new bike which was wrapped in pink paper. She was so funny because it was obvious what it was. She guessed it was a bike and after she took the paper off, she said "See, I was right"

I sent her a new Disney dress to wear for her Princesses and pirates party. She said the boys were going to be pirates and the girls princesses. She wasn't having it when we said that some of the girls might want to be pirates. Odd as she has been a pirate to go to a party before, but apparently given the choice princesses would win out

Oh dear - there goes the theory that it will be alright on the day :-(. Eve five already - how time flies.

As its a nice sunny morning we are going for a drive and lunch out. Should be very nice.

Our son is having a good time in Florida. They are in Panama City at the moment enjoying the beach.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Jun 2015 23:14

Eve is five in Monday, but she had her party today. They had hired the local church hall. They had a bouncy castle and had hired a children's entertainer. As they had only communicated by email my daughter rang her last night and all was well. Except she didn't turn up! She wasn't answering her phone at all. It was some sort of company and the woman in the head office was very apologetic and offered to come herself only she wouldn't have got there in time

So they just had to do some games themselves, but they had no prizes for them. Apparently the kids were very good and it was OK mainly because of the bouncy castle

That sounds very posh Sue, but of course you live in a very posh neighbourhood :-D

Hello :-). Welcome Beatletoo - we'll be gentle with you ;-)

Lovely and sunny here but oh so cold. We had a lovely spectacle here on Saturday. A wedding party picked up by a carriage with two white horses and a bride who looked like a princess. The best part was the bagpipes announcing to the street that the bride was about to come out. What a way to bring the neighbours out in force.

We are all kind really, sometimes the written word can sound gruff only because you can't hear the intonation in the voice and see the face

I will send a pm in case they can't find the way back

How nice to see you Tec xx

You have certainly been busy, and kept busy by others :-D

Congratulations to your daughter on her degree xxx

We are now at the start of a heat wave ....... yesterday, it was just under 28C in the shade in my back garden, today is to be several degrees hotter and so it goes through the weekend and into next week, with Sunday forecast to be the hottest day.

The definition of a heat wave here is at least 4 days over 30C ...... I'm pretty certain that we'll get that at the house, but the official temperature is recorded at the airport, which is at sea level and always has a breeze.

I have the fans on all the time, and will drink lots and lots of water

The heat also means that the drought is worsening, and that we are at extreme danger of fires as everywhere is so dry.

Congratulations to your granddaughter on her degree Tec.. Does she know what she is doing next?

I promise I won't groun at you :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jun 2015 15:02

Hello everyone :-)

Please don't groun all at once, because here I am back :-D

The last couple of weeks have been chaotic here.
As you will know the ramp that allows me access into the garden is finished, and I am delighted with it.
Now the same man is making me a fishpond at the end of the garden. I have always wanted one, though the Duchess was never keen. So there is all that going on.

My house has had revolving doors. I have had a constant stream of visitors. Thank goodness they didn't all come at once. My sister and BIL from the South visited over two days, staying in a chalet locally. my other sister and her friend who lives in Lanserote were here over another two days - the are lovely, but very hard work.
The Duchess's sister and nephew visited yesterday. We all visited her and she seemed quite well I thought.

My daughter and SIL are going to Southampton this weekend to clear Grand daughter's room from the house she rented. She was happy with her degree result, getting a 2-1. I know what she struggled at times.
My SIL treated her and three friends for a day out, and posh lunch at Ascot on Lady's Day - she looked very smart I must say.

Other people have also been here, all a bit of a blur really.
Through all this activity I wasn't very well, and more tired than I've ever been, going to bed most evenings at 9pm.
The infection in my knee has still not cleared up, so I'm on another course of antibiotics. The nurse will call this afternoon.

My sister and her friend took me out for the day to a huge garden centre that recently opened. I enjoyed that very much, but didn't buy anything.
I will wait till my pond is finished.

Well I haven't read back, so hope everyone is well.

Take care,
Tec :-)

Hello Linda - I have days like that. Sometimes after doing jobs around the house and OH is out driving I can sit and read the rest of the day. I do feel I've wasted a day doing nothing.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Jun 2015 23:02

I am very tired, I have been to Three different shopping centres today tracking down birthday presents for the girls. I also went to visit my next door neighbour in hospital, she is having twins, but has to stay in hospital until they are born because of problems, she is only about twenty nine weeks at the moment
