Hello :-)

I'm so pleased to hear that you are on your way back Sylvia. I was quite worried about you. Take care.

On the other hand I'm becoming more concerned about Tec. Things don't seem to be improving at all.

Linda - Eve is obviously having a great time :-)

Amanda - what a busy girl you are. The babies are coming very nicely. You have beautiful grandchildren.

Persie - are you getting the "Antarctic blast". It's so cold here. In two weeks we're going to Hobart and it's even colder :-0

We didn't go up the Space Needle , but Eve played in the playground near it.. We did the Duck tour which is a tour of the city where the amphibious vehicle also turns into a boat and goes on the lake. It cost a fortune but was very funny

We had Eve this morning so we went in the swimming pool again. It is icy cold, I can't believe that it doesn't warm up a bit by the end of the day, but it doesn't. After lunch we went on the courtesy bus to the local mall as Eves daddy needed to buy a hat. She played in the childrens area, then we went for a snack in the rain forest cafe , which she loved of course. I remember taking her mum to one in Florida when she was quite little, she loved in as well

I see Linda has gone all American, Center... yep I know that is what it is called but I would still write Seattle Centre.. LOL. I rather liked Seattle when I was there, still have my Space Needle souvenir somewhere.

I am glad that you are on the mend Sylvia, you have had a tough time

We are now in Seattle, we all went to the Seattle Center yesterday, then rode the Duck Tour which was good fun

The news on Tec doesn't sound good, it is ridiculous that he has to wait so long to see the surgeon again

I hope everyone else is OK

so very glad to hear some news of Tec.

I agree with Persie .............. he would have at the very least been taken back into hospital here.

I am recovering, slowly.

The regime of a very strong antibiotic at 2000mg per day for 7 days cleared up the erysipelas. The side effects of the antibiotic took a lot longer, and the extreme heat we've been having finally got to me.

I think I am about 50% of the way back

Persephone Report 14 Jul 2015 23:55

I would keep it clean and tidy Amanda.. well as clean as a plot can be.

Oh dear poor Tec he really is getting put through the wringer. I am ruddy certain that if he was here he would be staying in hospital until the infection is cleared up. Probably be rigged to drips etc. Once they have got you, you are not allowed to leave until everything is in proper working order.

Von , thank you for posting the message from Shaun . There are so very many of us on here that are wishing Tec well again , I hope the power of our positive thoughts and Tecs determination will get him through these dark days <3

Persie , on the subject of plot holders and trees , there is an ancient old boy on our site , he has three allotments ( two in his name and one in his wifes ) , he has been onsite many years and actually has a small orchard which runs along the far end of all three plots . All the trees are ones that he has grafted and grown from rare ( and I do mean rare ) stock , apparently he was born into an apple growing family ( family had been apple growers since 1500 something :-0 ) . God only knows what we are going to do when his time comes , the trees really need to have some kind of preservation order put on them .

I'm sure you would be a good plot holder really :-D

Linda I hope all is going well on your travels x

Shaun asked if we could add this for you

Tec, as asked me to tell you that he’s always thinking of you all but has not had the computer on for over 10 days now because he is so tired. Tec said that he’s been backwards and forwards from various hospital appointments and also that they have taken Archie from him and they will not be making a limb for the other leg as it will be too much for him to manage 2 artificial limbs so he will be relying on his wheelchair to get from A to B . The infection from Tecs last opp as still not healed up after having 3 different types of antibiotics so on the 22 July he will be going to Shrewsbury to see the surgeon to see what they can do.

Tec sends his love and best wishes to you all and thanks you for all the support and he will chat soon. Tec sounded quite chirpy but you could sense that he was tired so I did not keep him on the phone for long.

Sending loads of positive thoughts to our Tec

shaun

Take care

<3 Von

I would probably be a troublesome plot holder (nearly put pot holder.. I did have problems with that a while back when I was looking for a new oven glove and pot holder as mine are packed away except for the ones I was using and they needed a wash) >>>>

Plot holder: I don't always get some things to grow.. Perhaps I could just plant trees and share the fruit..

We actually braved public transport to the beach. We got a bus from near the hotel. It all went smoothly once we worked out how to pay the fare. We had to walk about a mile after that Eve was tired so had to be carried. A pretty major disaster occurred while we were there because Esmes buggy broke when her mum tried to recline it. They are going to have to buy a new one as we can't manage without it. So we got a taxi back which was good

I hope you don't get any problems from disgruntled allotment holders Amanda if they don't win a prize

Hello everyone :-)

Glad to hear you have arrived safely in the USA Linda .

I hope Tec is feeling a bit better and that his meds are working as they should . I haven't been on here for ages but I do look in from time to time to see if there is news . He is never far from my thoughts x

Sue , enjoy the peace and quiet when the kids go back to school :-) I believe ours are due to break up for the summer holidays in a week or so .
It has been all go on the allotments , last week the " big " committee came round to do the plot judging , I had to have a list ready of plot holders that I deemed deserved a " merit " . It is funny how I'm suddenly finding out that there is much more to being " site secretary " than I was led to believe :-|
I've had to send out a few 14 day warning letters to plot holders that are not getting on growing , as according to the rules .
What with the allotments , the grand children and life in general I'm beginning to feel somewhat worn out !

I hope that everyone on the thread is getting along okay :-D

At least you have all arrived safely despite the delay. Take care <3

Still dreadful weather here. The wind woke me up several times through the night. Not a good forecast for the rest of the week.

The children are back at school this week so normality reigns :-)

We have only been getting morning frost where we are followed by a sunny day, though one day there was a very cold wind which was in our face on the way down to the shops and on our backs coming home.

We were lucky getting such lovely weather when we were in Wellington.. every day was sunny and my SIL thanked us for bringing the sunny weather. It rained on the way home and was quite bitter where we stopped for lunch. The road we went on got closed because of snow a few days ago.

Oh poor Sylvia - didn't realise the mosquito bite had affected her so much. Please give her my regards.

I thought it was cold here but I saw your forecast in NZ - brrrrrrr :-0
