I hope you ALL sleep through the night, Linda xxx
Sue ....... a trip to the US in our spring will be very nice.
I remembered to take the cheque with me when I went to the bank again this morning :-)
I have to take 2 buses to get over to the main shopping area ............. I used to be able to walk it in 10-15 minutes :-(
After depositing the cheque, and some banter with the teller about my forgetfulness :-D , I took the 2 buses in the reverse direction to get back home, but got off 2 stops early so I could have lunch at our favourite Japanese place. Then I walked the 3 blocks home.
I'm now very tired and sore .............. but it was fun.
I think I might not be going out again until OH is home, unless I go out very early in the morning ........... the temperature is rising, and is expected to be around 30C by Friday.
I might have to water the Kiwi vine, the strawberries and tayberries, and the young street tree out on the boulevard ................. using a bucket :-(

So a trip to the U.S. Is on the cards Sue?
Eve did sleep on the train, it was hard to wake her to get off. She went to bed at 7.30 claiming she wasn't tired, but was out like a light, so I hope she sleeps through

Hello :-D
Our son's fiancée is American and although we have spoken to her we haven't met her. She seems lovely and adores my son. They hope to marry in the U.S. spring.

Good for you Sylvia, but you are a silly billy forgetting the cheque :-D
We flew back overnight, I managed a massive two hours sleep. We got back early afternoon UK time, I grabbed an hour on the sofa during he afternoon. We were all so tired we went to bed about 7.30 pm as soon as the girls were asleep. I could happily have slept all night, but Eve woke up at 1am, she came down to play with us at 3am. We kept her for an hour before she went to torment her mum again
Poor parents have gone to work today, Esme is the only one who is chirpy. We are going to set off in an hour to take Eve home, she needn't think that she is going to sleep on the train, she can stay awake until this evening and hopefully get back to UK time
I just need some matchsticks for my eyes :-(
How long is your son waiting before he gets married Sue?

a little "me" time is definitely needed!!
Sue ........ I am so pleased to hear how happy your son is. Do you like his fiancee?
I went out by myself for the first time in months today ........ I needed to deposit a cheque in our account at the bank, so I very carefully worked out my route by bus that would allow me to stop at the bank and then go on to downtown and then home.
I got to the bank, only to discover that the cheque was still in the drawer at home!!!! :-| :-| :-|
I went on to downtown, and will repeat the first part to the exercise tomorrow ......... it involves 2 buses. I think I might find somewhere on the main street to have some lunch :-)

Hello everyone :-). Cold but sunny here.
Our son is feeling the chill now that he has arrived home. He is on cloud nine - I hope it will be like that forever. As parents we just want happiness for our children.
Linda - when you get home with Eve you will have to make sure you get a little "me" time. When we have the children for a few days we are tired but at least they go home in the afternoon.

I have seen Sleeping Beauty before Persie, so would have preferred the nap
We stayed to watch the nighttime illuminated parade which was fantastic, we had a spot right at the front in the kerb, we also saw the fireworks. It was midnight before we got back, but Eve is awake now chirping away excited about meeting Mickey
There are characters. all over the. Park and th e children queue to have their photo taken with them. Eve has been too shy until yesterday morning when we were in the park at opening time. We were there just as Cinderalla and Snow White came out, so she had her photo taken. Normally the characters have no time but there were no more children there so Cinderalla even put Eves pony tail back in for her before she had her photo done, I got lots of photos
Have a lovely time in Hobart Sue and to use one of your odd expressions "Rug up well"

I am glad to see that Eve is keeping Linda up with the play, you really would not want to miss any of Sleeping Beauty now would you?
Aiden is a great lad and he will be so pleased to see you Sue... hope you miss the squally weather when in Hobart.. though I believe it is going to hit the west side of the Island quite badly. Cradle Mountain is in for a copping. Lovely spot up there, cold but lovely.

Hello everyone, just a quick update
We had a day by the pool yesterday. Eve stayed in the water for five hours, she looked like a prune when she got out. Grandad and grandma took turns being in with her with just a sort spell of relief when her daddy took part
We were up early this morning back in the main Disney park. We got back about 3 pm as it was too much to take. I managed a quick shower and just wanted to sleep, but Eve came in our room to watch TV. Just as we snuggled on the bed the original Sleeping Beauty movie came on, so we watched that. Every time my eyes drooped she woke me up so I wouldn't miss it :-|
Now we are rushing out to meet the American cousins for dinner then we are going back in the park for more torture
Tomorrow we have booked a character breakfast with Mickey for 9.20 so I hope she will be up in time. Then it will be the pool again
Sorry to hear about your daughter Persie, I hope she will be back to work soon. I am pleased that your colds are better now

Thank you so much Von and Brenda for the updates on Tec. I too am disgusted by the lack of good health care. Tec shouldn't have been allowed to leave hospital when is leg was so badly infected :-(
Sorry you are all feeling unwell Persie. I do hope your daughter feels much better soon <3
You will be feeling so much more comfortable now Sylvia. The rain and drop in temperature must be very refreshing.
You must be exhausted Linda - so much to do. I don't think I could keep up!
We are off to Hobart next weekend. Can't wait to see Aiden. He is the next phase of treatment for his legs. The plasters came off his legs on Thursday. Now he has splints on his legs that will stay on for a few months while he basically learns to walk again. He is such a brave boy - never a complaint.

Thanks Brenda and Von..
I am totally amazed that urgent is a 4 week wait. A lot can happen in four weeks.
On the sick note, we are recovering (I think) from our colds and our eldest is recovering from falling on her head whilst dancing at church three weeks ago. She was told to rest no TV etc because she had concussion and was more dopier than normal and could return to work in two weeks. Supposed to go back last Monday but that was not on. She is having physio which makes her feel yuk and she may return to work part time this Mon. Tomorrow, Sunday it is my SIL's 60th birthday and we are all going to a restaurant for lunch at Henderson. And because his mother who is now 91 cannot make the lunch we are going to her place next Sunday. The other family have all had colds as well and August had croup.
So there you go all the ailments from this neck of the woods.

it's RAINING!!!!
such joy!!!!!
The temperature is down to around 16C, and the sound of the rain on the roof and on the leaves is just fantastic!!!!
Hopefully the heavy showers will drop several mms over today and the rest of the weekend. We do so desperately need it after such drought conditions.
PLUS ..................
OH left this morning for a week of meetings, and I will not have to water the kiwi fruit, the strawberries, etc, with buckets of water, which is all we can now use under Stage 3 watering restrictions. :-D :-D

Thank you so much for the further update on Tec
It really is so very worrying to know what he is going through, and the length of time it takes to get to see doctors and specialists.
I'd love to bring him over here!!!

Hi everyone, As Shaun had talked to Tec,I thought that he may be up to a phone call.
He was pleased to hear from me and he is coping .apparently he had to ask the consultant to remove the scab. He is still in quite a bit of pain and the medication seems to be affecting his stomach and not able to sleep too well ....
I asked if he has another appointment,but he said no, he has to call if he needs one,so I said could he get an urgent one......,couldn't believe that an urgent one is 4 weeks...a non urgent one is about 6 weeks...it is ridiculous,don't know where our health service is going!
The better news is that he is enjoying his fishpond which has a waterfall and the sound of it is relaxing. Think his daughter is going to see him at weekend or early next week
Didn't keep him too long,but let him know we are all thinking of him

Message from Shaun Hello Everyone
Just a quickie my friends, I managed to get hold of Tec, he saw the surgeon yesterday and once the surgeon had seen the problem Tec was taken down to the small opps room.
Apparently a thick hard scab had formed round the stump and behind the scab was a nasty infection, the surgeon removed the scab and infected tissue from behind the scab and seems to think it will now start to improve.
Tec sounded a lot more cheerful and sends his love to you all and hops to chat soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Got to go now, hope you are all Ok. Night Night Shaun
Could someone add Tec's news to Sue's Aussie thread please.
We had rain overnight yesterday, but non since then. It was overcast yesterday morning which suited us fine as we were going to the Calafornian Adventure theme park which is the second Disney one, it was still very warm though. We made sure to watch some of the children's shows this time which gave us a break. We came back to the hotel late afternoon for a rest then met some relations of Eve,s daddy for dinner. We then went back into the park to watch the light show and Eve got to go on more rides. She was remarkably awake as we didn't get back until about 10.30pm..
It is now 10m and they are all asleep
I'm glad it's cooler for you Sylvia. I don't think we're ever really happy with the weather. When it's cold we long for warmth and vice versa.
Nothing much doing today. I would like to work in the garden but it's miserable outside. I have the morning to myself and some paperwork to do for my volunteer work so I think that's the go.
it's a lot cooler up here this morning ............... I have even just closed the patio door :-)
Sue ............. a friend who lives up in the sugar cane growing area of Queensland emailed all her friends last week with the story of the weather! They are just not prepared for cold and snow
Linda ........... we saw news items about all the rain in CA but none of them said it was the tag end of a hurricane, but that does make sense! Unfortunately, they need several days of rain like that to even begin to add any water to the reservoirs and aquifers. Most of the downpour just ran off, hence the flash floods.
Enjoy the rest of your visit to Disneyland.
