No still in Cyprus, just about to go for breakfast , then we will spend the morning by the pool and checkout at 12, but we don't get picked up until 2.30pm, so we will have lunch and read. It will be bedtime by the time we get home

Oh poor Tec - things are not going well for our dear friend :-( Fingers crossed that he will have a care package put in place and he will be able to go home.

Unseasonably warm here. Due for a change later in the week.

Are you home yet Linda?

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Oct 2015 15:55

I just had an email from Tecs daughter. She said that he had been moved from the local hospital to Aberystwyth because he has a urinary infection. They are hoping to discharge him later next week. I don't now if that means to home, or back to the local hospital. Poor Tec, all he wants to do is go home

I hope you are snoozing Huia, I am glad the photo show went well

We are having a lunch time snooze before we go back out again. I have already been in the sea twice this morning. It is our last full day, we go home tomorrow, it has gone very quickly

SueMaid Report 3 Oct 2015 03:57

Snoozing on the settee sounds good Huia :-)

Of course I don't behave - no fun being a goody two shoes ;-)

I have 'spoken' to Persie a couple of times on FB - all is well.

Huia Report 2 Oct 2015 21:55

Maybe I will just spend today (Saturday) and tomorrow with my leg up all the time, either scanning negs again or snoozing on the settee to make up for yesterday.

Huia Report 2 Oct 2015 21:54

I dont know where Persie is, but I had a couple of messages from her on one of my FB pages.

My day at the ageing expo went well. Lots of people looked at the old photos which were transferred from my tiny laptop to a big screen, in a slide show. I was on the local Historic Society's stall. I did not need to man it all the time so was able to wander around to look at other stalls, but my leg was suffering by the time I got home. I should have kept it up more. :-0

Hello all :-)

Persie and I would have been on the beach with you Linda if Persie had shared the rowing. She is quite lazy I've discovered :-|

It is sunny and warm here - beautiful spring weather. I'm sad that I can't share photos of my orchids with Tec. He always enjoys photos of my garden.

Sylvia - your trip has come up quickly. I hope all goes well and you both have a wonderful time <3

LindainHerriotCountry Report 1 Oct 2015 06:24

It is sunny and warm here as well Sylvia, about 30 degrees, it was just a bit windy, which is good as it doesn't feel humid. It is very pleasant on the beach and I am spending lots of time in the water.

I tried swimming in the pool, but it was no good as I felt a pain behind my knee. I can only do a little bit with arms only, so I mainly walk around neck deep

If I don't talk to you before your trip, have a lovely time

Sue ................

what a great thing for your daughter to do. You are so right in being proud of her.

Linda ........ it's actually nice, sunny and quite warm here ........... highs of around 18/19C

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Sep 2015 20:07

No sign of Persie or Sue yet, but it was very windy yesterday, so the little rowing boat probably got blown off course and they are heading for Egypt now :-D

This week is going far too quickly, we are half way through now, my tan is coming on nicely, pity I will have to cover it up when I get home

It is a very good thing for your daughter to be doing Sue, they haven't had much help after the earthquake despite all of the promises

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 29 Sep 2015 05:02

I'm still rowing :-| Persie left me on my own. I bet she's having a great time with Linda :-P

I'm incredibly proud at the moment. My daughter is in Nepal doing some voluntary work in some remote villages. She and the rest of the team are dispensing glasses. She is there for two weeks. My SIL encouraged her to go as did we. It is a great example to set the children.

you will not be popular, especially after she expended so much energy trying to row that boat silently past customs

OH's e been watching all of your photos on FB Huai, they are very interesting and it is good to have them online

We are just back from dinner and as the food is excellent, I ate far too much again, I forgot to throw a few scraps out for Sue

Huia Report 28 Sep 2015 09:05

Hello all.

I have been very busy lately. For a few months I have been scanning negatives but at the moment I am busy naming and dating and putting photographer's name on about 40 photos (also printing them off). I bought a laptop last week as the president of our historical society asked if I have one. We have a big stall at this year's ageing expo in Pukekohe on Friday and he was hoping I could put together a slide show, so that is what I am doing. I decided a laptop would be a good idea for when I give a talk to other historic societies - well, I have been asked to give one to Papakura some time, who knows how many others will want me? I have also been putting old photos on various FB community or group pages, for Auckland, Thames, Hamilton, North Shore (NZ), Kaipara and Kauri Coast, North Auckland, plus my own 2 pages. Keeps me out of mischief. And preserves the photos for the futures.

Just about time I started thinking of bed, I had a busy afternoon in the hospice shop. Good night/day to you all.

Huia.
